outback sport owners i see this is a 08 iam researching these cars for a possible trade in and was wondering if anyone has had any problems or regrets after buying this car i wana trade my g35 in for a subaru so im getting subaru owners opinions
Great video. Love the close-ups of the wheels...even awd slides on slippery stuff! I live in NH, too, and just put a deposit on a 2011 OBS 5sp!!! First awd car. Very psyched!!! Did you use stock tires in winter or winter tires? How was your mpg? Thanks!
I LOVE the styling of this car!! I'm gettin an Impreza Outback [Red, Silver, or Sage green] in the near future, or get one used cause I don't need a bulky SUV anyway. I prefer the red color on the car with the silver bumpers.
It is pretty peppy, there is no difference in the performance between the impreza wagon and the impreza outback, the handling in the impreza outback is a bit better than the wagon.
i got a 2009 outback sport hatchback in the fall and we have had the WORST winter here in WV and this car has been a total beast! this thing will go absolutely anywhere in the snow, any hill i couldn't climb in my previous front will drive cars, this car dominates! i highly recommend it to anyone. the ONLY complaint i have about it is for the bad snow we had this winter the car was just a BIT to low going over some snow drifts, i scraped the bottom a bit in some parts, overall relaly good though
i want either this or the Impreza hatch... which should i choose??? i might do a little off roading but not tooo too much... ill get an STI later for that :)
if you are going to do any off roading i would definitely go with the outback sport because it has a more rugged suspension setup. i like the o.b.s. better than the regular impreza hatch because it has a few more amenities(heated seats, six cd, leather steering wheel+shifter, steering wheel audio controls, ect.) and it is better looking, the regular hatch looks to plain and boring.
@sly2345 i sold mine for a 2010 legacy a few months ago, i like the outback sports's styling better than the 2.5i, the 2.5i i think almost looks boring/ugly
@LarryDavidFreak agreed, i understand what you mean. but you do know aside from the two tone paint job, 17" rims and the roof rack. The cars are identical.
im not sure where else it is sold. i have not had a problem with the clearance, the outback sport has more rugged suspension than the regular impreza. in my opinion the ouback sport looks better than the regular impreza
I bought this car specifically because I didn't want a WRX with the turbo and all the extra expense involved there. However, this car rides a bit higher, has a normally aspirated flat 4, and the trick suspension of the WRX. So its fun and stable to drive. Love it in winter, but yes, I'm getting winter rims and tires for mine. Had it for a year, and aside from a minor accident, its been the best car I have ever owned.
hey im also considering getting an 09 outback sport and was just wondering if you have had any problems with it(engine specifically). But most importantly i was wondering how it is in the snow. That is almost the only reason i am thinking about this car and in a few of your videos you said it wasn't that great because of the tires or something but im hoping to be able to take it through at least a foot of fresh snow.
I don't have any problems with the car or engine. it is my best subie yet. it is great in the snow (all subarus are), it can get through a foot of snow, not easily (low ground clearance) but it will do it. it is an extremely safe car and it handles very well. if your looking for a car that can get through mass amounts of snow i would recommend the regular outback because it has high ground clearance.
Hi! I'm seriously considering a brand new '09. Do you think the new OBS stands up to your earlier one? What are the main differences you notice? Thanx!

They are both excellent and extremely reliable cars! The new one has more power(2.5) than the old one. Everything is easy to use. Top Safty Pick. Subaru has the best all wheel drive system you can get. I get alot of complements on the styling. Great features. It is fun to drive. The only flaw with the car is the hatch sometimes doesn't like to latch all the way so you have to give it a hard shut. I highly recommend you buy one! I think this one definetly outstands my old one!
Thanx dude. I'll check out yr review. I'm going to start emailing all the Subie dealers within a 100 mile radius for the best price and financing deal.
why doo all the cars in america have silver bumpers.,,,, they look poo!!!!!!!!!!!! body-colour bumpered cars in the UK look much more sophisticated.

jesus... you need some proper snow tires.
go with studless winter, like michelan x-ice or bridgestone blizzaks.
i highly recommend the michelans; AMAZING tires.

SUBARU LOVERS I NEED HELP**
Trying to decide between 08 outback sport and impreza 2.5i
-needs to be great in snow (northern VT)
-Needs to be able to drift and take a punishment
-needs to be fast (friends all have VW 1.8t and 2.0t GTis and Jettas, so i gotta keep up with them)
which one would be better?
im leaning towards a manual 08 outback sport with coldair intake, and exhaust system!

@LarryDavidFreak If you get the 2.5i premium you will get all those amenities including the sport gril and sti spoiler.

Impreza Outback only in US? Looks quite low and that means poor offroad ability. Its like a normal Impreza only with ugly plastic details.
