i'm sorry but you don't know as much as you think you know about piercings. Standard bellybutton rings are 14g. Just because you have yours at a 12g has nothing to do with the length. The length is measured in fractions (3/4, 5/16 etc). You should just stick to say how to clean it. Plus you can prevent rejection by trying not to touch it too much, bump into it hard or get it caught on clothing. I have my cartilage, tragus, eyebrow, bellybutton and ears stretched to a 0g.
How long should you wait before going swimming? I wanna get mine done in March and go swimming in April! If I cleaned it straight after would it be okay! Also. Would it get ripped out from roller coasters?x

I SWEAR BY SEA SALT SOAKS. Whoever is having trouble with their piercing do this! Not the spray, you want the hot water from a solution. I wish I stuck to this but I found it time consuming & tried diff. methods. My piercing ended up not healing properly & it migrated/rejected. It had this bump on the top ball & couldnt get rid of it. Wipe away the discharge; it's puss... And it can get infected! For the crusty stuff take a WET Q-tip and wipe it off.. For the soap thing; you need to put more water on it so it will get the soap off.. If you don't it can get irritated.

@danieXniinii nice spelling HAHA. No. the red will last for a few months, and same with the swelling, so no. it is not infected. and clean it like i showed in the video.
i qot my piercing like a month ago && i would clean it with the saline solution each day but i think it was getting infected becus white booger looking stuff wud come out of it && it was getting crusty around the holes. It doesnt hurt anymore. So today i decided to clean it with a Q tip && Hydrogen peroxide after i cleaned it with the saline solution. Now the booger looking stuff wont come out && it seems dry. Was that a bad idea??
@lollipopale The "booger" looking stuff if normal. It means that it is healing and is very good. The crusty stuff is just the white stuff that has dried. By using the H.P you stripped the piercing making it more suseptable to infection. Just don't do it again, and it should be okay!
and by the way what is the full name of that dial soap u used, and where can I get it (in the UK) ? I heard it's bad to use dial soap on ur belly button because it's too harsh and can be bad for the healing process xx
@summerprincessxxx i recommend 3 times a day, and nope! just in the shower with regular soap is fine for after its healed. and dial soap is approved for the prof. piercers association and it is perfectly perfect to use. I specifically use the DIAL Complete Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap =)

@cocoismycutedog don't worry =). everyone accidentally pulls on it at one time or another. it will also be red, or quite a few months.. please also stop putting neosporin on it. it may cause an infection, as it blocks oxygen access, and can actually CAUSE INFECTION. just keep washing it with seasalt solution and antibacterial dial soap.

@LittleMonsters27 even when there is no redness, it can take MONTHS to heal. i had no redness, but it wasnt healed for another 2 or so months. i would continue cleaning it iike normal for a few more months, and the change it. if yu change it too soon, you risk the hole closing, infection, and therefore the need to repierce it.
my bellybutton was pierced about a week ago it was reallly really red and was pussing ive been using peroxide on it for a while about 2 or 3 times a day and neosporine. its getting better and its not red anymore but its still pussing a little bit..more at the bottom then the top. any advice?
my belly button piercing rejected 2 years ago, it was doing perfectly fine too. i think the only reason it rejected though was because i changed it at 6 weeks (my piercer said it was okay) and took it out a couple times. i NOW recommend to wait at LEAST 3-6 months to avoid this!

hello! i am a little confused? generally when you like the piercing you just keep using standard gauge that it was pierced with. I think thats about 14? if you cant find rings, yes, using 14 gauge would work, might be a little hard to get it, but it would stretch the hole. if i am confused, and didn't answer correctly, just message me =)
@sexiilexii741 Usually you could choose between a 14 or a 16 gauge. 14 is the standard gauge and most belly button rings are 14 gauge. you'd have to find something that was 16 gauge but if you wanted to stretch it, there would be no other size other than the 14 to move up to. try using lube to slowly stretch it, it might hurt and bleed though so i'd leave it up to a professional who may use a taper. make sure it's fully healed though!
Hey.. Um so wen i first get my belly pierced, when is the best time to first clean it? And when i get in the shower should i use sumthing to prevent my regular soap from getting into the piercing?
About 3 times a day; Morning, afternoon, and evening. I usually end up cleaning it in the shower 1cs a day! When in the shower, I would clean it at the very end of youmyr shower, so if any shampoo or conditioner or reg body wash got in, it will come out then!
I like to clean it when i wake up, at lunch before I eat, and before bed.
I washed mine for the first time the night after I got it pierced, and them 3 times a day after that!

@Neaboo5 Hey. Swimming in the ocean or in chlorine pools isn't the best idea as it can contain harsh chemicals and bacterias that promote infection. So maybe get it done after the summer? As for working out; there are no problems. Just make sure you wash it soon after to get any bacteria that may have accumulated out.
It does take time, but you will notice that there is less skin holding onto the piercing
when the sweelling of the piercing goes down there is usually a bit of the barbell that hangs, and thats normal, but if it rejects it will be very little skin holding onto the ring or barbell.
is it your piercer who told you to use dial antibactérial soap ? I saw this on multiples video and I wonder ! Is it good ? It's not gonna irritate the piercing ? I migh buy that lol... is the pH neutral ?
yes, my piercer told me to use this! There's another product H2Ocean, you can use as well. It is really good and gentle it wont dry it out or anything but it will still wipe out any bad bacteria. I'm not sure about the Ph...sorry! But I know that it is definately safe for your piercing! Plus it doesn't smell gross, it smells really fresh!

@HunnyOda Hi. Although this isn't going to dry out the piercing, or promote infection, it is not going to do the best job at keeping it clean =) I reccomend not doing this, as there are better ways to clean it.

I Literally got it pierced today and its a bit tender.. is it normal it just kind of feels like a throbbing (not hard) pain. And Is Savlon a good cleaner to use.. the guy recommended it.
Savlon is weird. some people say its okay, and others say not to. Its quite up to you. If you do chose to use it, get the spray and not the cream as it will be better for a piercing. Personally, I have heard bad things about using antiseptic creams so I ALWAYS reccomend using a saline solution or Dial soap =)

@summerprincessxxx i recommend 3 times a day, and nope! just in the shower with regular soap is fine for after its healed. and dial soap is approved for the prof. piercers association and it is perfectly perfect to use. I specifically use the DIAL Complete Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap =)

hi, i got my belly peirced 4 days ago and it was fine at first.............but now the top has gone quite red, hurts when i go to push up on the bottom of the bar, and i just looks saw. what should i do to solve this????? (i dont think it is infected!)

Please help....I got my belly button pierced over a week ago and it started to get, on the skin around the barbell like white and like sorta scabby or something, almost like it was peeling. I always clean it but It gets bumped pretty bad sometimes. Could it be infected or just irritated?

hey! I had my belly button pierced about a month ago . At First it was red and now I'm getting a dark circle around the top hole . I don't think it's infected and it does hurt at all . Is there anything I can do to get rid of it and can I change my belly ring at this point ? :) x

I had my bellybutton pierced back in november and everything was going fine until I stopped/reduced cleaning it. My piercer said to clean it for 3 weeks, which I did and then reduced the amount of cleaning. When I did this it didn't seem to be infected at all but it eventually grew out, I know that sometimes this can happen anyway but do you think it could be due to the fact I stopped cleaning it so early on?

My piercer said that the redness around the piercing was just a way of my body healing from the piercing but it really red and its starting to sting a little when I clean it should I just go to the doctor or just keep cleaning it the way my piercer said?

@cocoismycutedog don't worry =). everyone accidentally pulls on it at one time or another. it will also be red, or quite a few months.. please also stop putting neosporin on it. it may cause an infection, as it blocks oxygen access, and can actually CAUSE INFECTION. just keep washing it with seasalt solution and antibacterial dial soap.

@LittleMonsters27 even when there is no redness, it can take MONTHS to heal. i had no redness, but it wasnt healed for another 2 or so months. i would continue cleaning it iike normal for a few more months, and the change it. if yu change it too soon, you risk the hole closing, infection, and therefore the need to repierce it.

my belly button piercing rejected 2 years ago, it was doing perfectly fine too. i think the only reason it rejected though was because i changed it at 6 weeks (my piercer said it was okay) and took it out a couple times. i NOW recommend to wait at LEAST 3-6 months to avoid this!

Ok i have my belly pierced and they did it with a 16 gauge an i finally get to change it should i jus go the next size up an jus keep working it through to where the hole gets bigger or jus take it out an get it done again.??

hello! i am a little confused? generally when you like the piercing you just keep using standard gauge that it was pierced with. I think thats about 14? if you cant find rings, yes, using 14 gauge would work, might be a little hard to get it, but it would stretch the hole. if i am confused, and didn't answer correctly, just message me =)

@sexiilexii741 Usually you could choose between a 14 or a 16 gauge. 14 is the standard gauge and most belly button rings are 14 gauge. you'd have to find something that was 16 gauge but if you wanted to stretch it, there would be no other size other than the 14 to move up to. try using lube to slowly stretch it, it might hurt and bleed though so i'd leave it up to a professional who may use a taper. make sure it's fully healed though!

About 3 times a day; Morning, afternoon, and evening. I usually end up cleaning it in the shower 1cs a day! When in the shower, I would clean it at the very end of youmyr shower, so if any shampoo or conditioner or reg body wash got in, it will come out then!
I like to clean it when i wake up, at lunch before I eat, and before bed.
I washed mine for the first time the night after I got it pierced, and them 3 times a day after that!

Is it safe for me to go swimming or even get wet? And I like work out alot so when i get it pierced should i stop that for a while??

@Neaboo5 Hey. Swimming in the ocean or in chlorine pools isn't the best idea as it can contain harsh chemicals and bacterias that promote infection. So maybe get it done after the summer? As for working out; there are no problems. Just make sure you wash it soon after to get any bacteria that may have accumulated out.

It does take time, but you will notice that there is less skin holding onto the piercing
when the sweelling of the piercing goes down there is usually a bit of the barbell that hangs, and thats normal, but if it rejects it will be very little skin holding onto the ring or barbell.

yes, my piercer told me to use this! There's another product H2Ocean, you can use as well. It is really good and gentle it wont dry it out or anything but it will still wipe out any bad bacteria. I'm not sure about the Ph...sorry! But I know that it is definately safe for your piercing! Plus it doesn't smell gross, it smells really fresh!

@HunnyOda Hi. Although this isn't going to dry out the piercing, or promote infection, it is not going to do the best job at keeping it clean =) I reccomend not doing this, as there are better ways to clean it.

I Literally got it pierced today and its a bit tender.. is it normal it just kind of feels like a throbbing (not hard) pain. And Is Savlon a good cleaner to use.. the guy recommended it.

Savlon is weird. some people say its okay, and others say not to. Its quite up to you. If you do chose to use it, get the spray and not the cream as it will be better for a piercing. Personally, I have heard bad things about using antiseptic creams so I ALWAYS reccomend using a saline solution or Dial soap =)
