  • When asking god for guidance all what you hear is silence!

  • @gpeuhqt

He says think for yourself. How is questioning peoples beliefs counter-intuitive to that statement? It isn't, at all, and if you really believe in a nebulous claim such as turning water into wine then you ARE an idiot, because everything known about chemistry and history indicates it almost certainly didn't happen.

  • Why do we worry about proving God? He cannot be proved besause we haven't got the capabilities. So we resort to intellectualism.God cannot be proven with human science any more than a sculptor cannot mould the statue of liberty from over ripe plantain. This is an African riddle. Lets get the right tools first. Untill then, disillussioned atheists will continue to profit from daring God. In Aesop's fables the fox couldn't get the grapes so it went away saying 'afterall they are soured grapes'

What a laughable comparison. God has been pushed back in proportion to scientific progress, to the point now where the monotheism's in particular have had to put their god entirely outside of nature. (as otherwise it would be evident they dont exist)

If god cannot be proven, (ie, his effects on reality not demonstrated) then clearly it makes no difference if it exists or not. So you might as well save yourself the trouble and believe in that which can actually be supported...

  • Critical Thinking and Philisophy should be taught in all schools, i remember we once had one discussion group on school and i was the only atheist and i destroyed any argument trying to prove a God
