@mikefastener I am sorry but i do not agree. His french is aweful, it is hard to understand what he really mean and can be interpreted in many ways. For your "conquered language" that is very condescending since almost everything is still in french in Québec in spite of english racism. Still, the debate for our independance is still going on and will become stronger in the next 10 years. We have been subject of the queen, not of english canadian, and the queen give us the choice of our will.

@mikefastener that is not exact, in fact, québec represent 23,5% of Canada and pay 31,6% of the tax earn by ottawa. That mean that we pay more than we receive, a lot more. The 500 millions you are refer to is for the repair of infrastrucure. In fact, we should received 900 millions. Every province got is part, Québec ain't have anything more than anyone. Ontario and Québec just didnt put as much project on the table so they ain't got the full deal.

@mikefastener I am not sure to understand what you mean because it seem too stupid and irrelevent. How can it be hypocrite to have our money back when we need it? It is good for every province who paid for that fund. Having a wish for independance have nothing to do with this. Hypocrisy would be more like pretending that english canadian are have not been racist against french canadian for decade, playing the offenced virgin and inventing your own history around manipulated fact and false glory.

@mikefastener Reducing history at 2 sentences, this is intellectually very dishonest. Wolfe defeat Montcalm, not "Malcolm"... England have been conquered by Rome, what's the point? India was conquered too and now they are free. Independance would be good for english, for indians, for jews, for americans, but not for us? Man, seriously, it is normal that you find this strange because you obviously are not informed, but this debate is very legitimate. Anyway, there is nothing you can do about it

@oo1cookie. And what do you think of Dion and Chretien. I think in a country like Canada to be reasonably fluent and understandable is a necessity for the Prime Minister. Considering the percentages of english versus french speakers in Canada, complaining about Harpers french while tolerating Dion and Chretien is a bit biased. I can understand all three of those men though, so maybe it's just you.

Still, i regret him now, even if he was a defrauder for the sponsorship scandal. At least, our army was an army of peace, we could walk anywhere in the world with pride. Now, what do we look like? @IanEColeman I found the complete ineptitude Dion and especially Chretien displayed whilst speaking English equally if not more offensive than Harper's attempt at French in this video. And anyone who has watched him in recent years knows that his French now is impeccable. That being said, he still sounds rather pathetic in this video. Also, I would say a Prime Minister should be able to speak both languages flawlessly, not just reasonably

@oo1cookie. Maybe flawlessly in a perfect world, but there are other important qualities of a Prime Minister that I would be willing to sacrifice that for. If there was an incredible individual who could only speak french and was unable to speak any english and even unwilling to try... if he could do great things for Canada, I would vote for him.... or the guy in the same party as him who I may or may not like... you know.... Canadian political system.
