  • MINECRAFT!

  • How does one know when its safe enough to walk on it. (special boots and temperature meter or something)

  • @train52000 No special boots, but the soles can become unglued. I don’t want to spend too much time on hot lava and the soles should be thick enough to delay the heat getting to the glue. Cooler surfaces should be close by to cool off the feet. The radiant heat on your face will let you know when it is too hot to attempt getting close to it. Lava rock is very abrasive, so I tend to buy cheap boots from Walmart because the soles wear out after about 50 miles of hiking on old lava flows.

  • hell in liquid form

  • Cool. I picked nonis off of the noni tree at 2:15 in the vid last time I was down there. I hope it survives :)

  • I don't think it did. More lava went through that area in the following days and wiped out more of the road and vegetation. Take a look at the pics from October 27 in the smugmug link in the video description.

  • get a shovel and see if you can pick some up

  • Absolutely outstanding! Beautiful as crossing the road.

  • Beautiful!!!! I love Hawaii!

  • Ma quannu mai !?

  • State Highway 130 kunt je niet meer berijden met auto.

  • Impressive! The tourists must be happy to see the lava so close to the viewing area, but I hope the locals will be safe.

Thanks for showing this to us and keeping us up to date!
