Our humidity is off the charts here in FL. and sometimes you feel like you're breathing through a straw cause the air is so thick! But there is a guy by the name od Devon Smith who is fast too and he will be a freshman at Pen St. He clocked a 4.19 and 4.23 40 at a showcase so my 2 guys better watch out. He also runs a 6.21 55 meter dash and a 6.65 60 so they better come with it but hands down Jeff Demps is fast in pads and on the track.

while cross country is a hard event it is way different then the 100. it is very difficult to compare speed looking at film because of angles players take thats why they say someone plays faster then they run because of angles, instincts and deception. in the 100 it is all about speed with nothing else coming into play thats why if your fast on the track your fast everywhere. i like ted ginn more them demps and watched ted's college career but hes not faster.

Actually acceleration is how fast you speed up or slow down, so i agree it isnt hand in hand but acceleration matters on leg strength to where speed is fast twitch muscles. Agility combined with leg strength can help you run full speed and stop dead in your tracks if you wanted.

wrong, the fastest collegiate highschool player was chris johnson, and deion sanders. they both ran in the 4.2's and trendon holiday and jeffrey demps run in the 4.3's, but at the moment they are considered the fastest BEHIND percey harvin.
Sander didn't run a 4.23 until the NFL combine. Both of those times were done by hand, Demps has run a sub 4.30 before not sure of the exact time. I know Rainey has run a 4.27 and then a 4.24 both timed by lasers and they were run within 2 minutes of eachother.

i am training to go professional in baseball now. like i said dieon ran a 10.1 which is world class speed but if you know speed then you would not say what you said... being someone who was in the paper for football and track coaches were talkin about at least a 10.3 i play baseball over football because it pays more you can play longer and i am better but you can not run a 4.1 in full pads for two reasons 1. the weight will slow you to full speed 2. the bulk and Aerodynamics

I like Trindon Holliday and Jeff Demps. But there is a guy by the name od Devon Smith who is fast too and he will be a freshman at Pen St. He clocked a 4.19 and 4.23 40 at a showcase so my 2 guys better watch out. He also runs a 6.21 55 meter dash and a 6.65 60 so they better come with it but hands down Jeff Demps is fast in pads and on the track.

Dude has track speed I'll give him that... But Ted Ginn ran a 10.5 100m in HS and is way faster on the football field then Demps is.. I've seen Demps get caught many times... Ted Ginn doesn't even get caught in the NFL lol.

I believe Ginn has run much faster than a 10.5. But you're right. Ginn is one of the fastest players in pads ever. Deion Sanders and Darrell Green are the last two players with his type of speed on the field.

Look at his College and Pro Highlights and tell me different. And why would I retract my statement?? Demps would smoke Ginn on the track, but in pads it would be a different story.

you must not have ran track and played football... the reason they say track speed is different from football speed is because track runners have straight ahead speed and in football you need to change directions but in the open with no move to be made they are they same. like a 40 time at the combine does not translate to the field. i did both sports, and my whole family was involved in both. ask any track and football coach and they will tell you the same.

Well game highlights is ALL anyone needs to go off of to see the difference... Those highlights back up everything I was saying. And yes I did both in High School. I wasn't a 100m sprinter but I ran cross country and played 2 years of football. Im not trying to make an argument over the internet, im just saying from looking at game highlights, Ginn seems like he has a faster top end speed than Demps

while cross country is a hard event it is way different then the 100. it is very difficult to compare speed looking at film because of angles players take thats why they say someone plays faster then they run because of angles, instincts and deception. in the 100 it is all about speed with nothing else coming into play thats why if your fast on the track your fast everywhere. i like ted ginn more them demps and watched ted's college career but hes not faster.

u have learn the difference between field speed and track speed. U have no data to go off of to prove that Demps is faster than Ginn on the field. Name 10 people in the pros faster than Ginn, and don't say Devin Hester, cause he ran a 4.4 and a 10.8 in highschool.

i know the difference between track speed and football speed because i did both.. i was a sprinter and played rb/wr/cb/ss/fs and my family did both with my brother goin to state my first cousin goin to jr olympics and all state in football and my other brother all state in football and 4 year scholly to college for football and the list goes on. if you want to ask me questions to test my knowledge and see why i know or a fact demps is faster go right ahead and read what i wrote above

do u seriously think demps can outlast ginn on a football field. at the uf spring game last year Rainey recorded the fastest time in the 40 for the team. Demps runs a 4.35 while Ginn runs a 4.26 dats field speed for ur ass. Chris Rainey is faster than Demps dat shows u that he is not faster than ginn cause rainey cant beat ginn on the field. FYI i do both track and football. i kno field speed and track speed i run a 4.6 40 but i run a 49 400m and a 22.2 200m. I know wat im talkin about!

Well obviously I do considering Demps is the fastest player in college football history. You must not watch much Florida football.. if you did you'd understand. Sure Demps has track speed, but you can't honestly argue that Rainey is faster on the field. I saw Demps outrun two guys this season who had 20 yard advantages on them... now that's speed.

ginn runs a 4.4 if you want to really know the truth. and the 400 and 200 are cool but unless you run the 100 then play rb/wr/db then you really dont know. i ran the 100 and 200 and played all those positions and would have had scholly if i stayed out the streets. and the florida coach said demps ran the fastest recorded 40 in florida history with a sub 4.2 so what are you talkin about. and if you really want to break it down demps is a lot shorter then ginn so his get up is faster

Urban himself said chris rainey clocked a faster 4, as a matter of fact he institued the UF "Fastest man Competition" the rules were if anyone in the city or state could beat Rainey in the 40, he would give them a full-ride scholarship. He didnt promote anything like that 4 demps so there u go.

Actually acceleration is how fast you speed up or slow down, so i agree it isnt hand in hand but acceleration matters on leg strength to where speed is fast twitch muscles. Agility combined with leg strength can help you run full speed and stop dead in your tracks if you wanted.

Slowing down is deceleration. Acceleration depends on, like JFJWHATITDO said correctly, is how fast it takes to get to maximum velocity.
There are many types of speed by the way, and they ALL require fast-twitch muscle fibers (including especially acceleration, quickness, and agility).

wrong, the fastest collegiate highschool player was chris johnson, and deion sanders. they both ran in the 4.2's and trendon holiday and jeffrey demps run in the 4.3's, but at the moment they are considered the fastest BEHIND percey harvin.

Sander didn't run a 4.23 until the NFL combine. Both of those times were done by hand, Demps has run a sub 4.30 before not sure of the exact time. I know Rainey has run a 4.27 and then a 4.24 both timed by lasers and they were run within 2 minutes of eachother.

Bullshit 8 flat. That's in the threshold of superhuman. There must have been about 20mph winds supporting him if he did that. Plus, if he could even get anywhere close to that, he would "regularly" get sub 10s instead of 10.01. Tindon hasn't ever run a 10.01 so until then your opinion has not basis. Trindon's fastest thus far is 10.02 which is only .01 second difference, but thats the difference between 1st and 2nd.

I hate to keep arguing with you and all, but Demps just turned 19 and Holliday is almost 23 (making him almost 4 years older). Demps ran his 10.01 in transition from HS to College. Holliday ran a 10.02 in his second year at LSU. That said I love Trindon, but facts are facts.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that "'nough said" or "nuff said" is the weakest argument ever.
