I lost a dearfriend to drugs a few years ago. He, like Nic, was bright, articulate, well read...we just couldn't get through to him in time. I saw the pain he endured in his struggle with addiction, and I have nothing but admiration for Nic Sheff . To tell his story with such candor is a very difficult & brave thing to do. Tthe road my friend took was hard & lead to destruction. Hang in there, Nic. You are alive, & that is a wonderful thing. Thank you for opening your heart to help others.

All this critique on how Nic Sheff speaks, it's untrue.

I've seen all Nic's videos & on tv twice. Nic was, as I shared, calm, intelligent, and well-spoken. I would not make comments as if to be an expert on this man, or about supposed "damages" of his drug experience.

Nic Sheff is a brilliant man & a truly gifted writer. If anything, to write such an incredible book after all he suffered is proof positive, God's grace only made him, a stronger better communicator.I Love Nic Sheff I Always will

it is, actually. seeing this video, i noticed how nic kind of says "um" and "you know" and repeats a lot but that's because of the drugs. my older brother was actually a drug addict too. thankfully, he's out of that now. but ever since the drugs, he stutters a lot. the drugs messed him up. whenever he talks comfortably to someone he knows well, he always stutters and his stuttering gets even worse when he's nervous.
