considering that papa jo had already been performing/playing drums for almost 20years when Joe morello first started to play, of course he would be playing in 7 before JM. JM list papa jo as a major influence, papa jo and morello are both melodic drummer, as was max roach. a very different style than the krupa, rich, bellson, etc style. not only was papa jo jones the best drummer of all time, but he had a major influence on ppl such as krupa, rich, morello and all those who came after them.
