  • Please, Lord, send us more priests like Fr. Stan!

  • Jesus would have driven this jack-ass from the altar with a whip! Lord, the Franciscan order has become nothing a bunch of self-glorifying adolescents! No wonder we can't accomplish anything at Franciscan University.

  • Good stuff. Made me smile and laugh.

  • God bless Fr. Stan. He is reaching and evangelizing youth. In my parish the youth ministry is almost non-existent. And the pews every Sunday reflect that. The non-involvement of young people in parish programs and activities reflects that. We need a lot MORE Fr. Stans.

  • Father Stan is coming to St. Mary in Williamston, MI on June 6, 2009!

"There is only one Catholic church, which Jesus established.

    There are not 2 churches.

    You are a sedecavantist."

I agree with all three statements above... What is your point?

  • You say you believe in religious liberty. This implies that you agree with the Vatican II sects false belief that all religions are avenues toward salvation. So I ask in all sincerity.... why pray for thier conversion? Honestly, if our ultimate goal is to make it to heaven, and all "faith traditions" lead to that goal, then why convert? Father Ratzinger himself believes we no longer strive for the ecumenism of the return. You go ahead and follow the counterfit church.

  • You avoided the crux of my question. If, as Father ratzinger and the Vatican II religion says, all religions are guided by the holy spirit, then why would they need to convert?

  • Thank you for your prayers, but I'd rather remain a Catholic.

  • The Vatican II church is not Catholic. The Catholic church is indefectable and cannot change in essence.

  • If the man wants to be a stand up comedian or a pop idol he should do it, other wise get out of the sacristy Mr. Fortuna.

  • Hello, we pray for the conversion of Jews and Buddhists and heretics any sort or color to convert to the Church Jesus established, just as Catholics had always done. The New Order Church prays that those of false religions stay and grow in their faith traditions which is not true Charity.

  • An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded.

  • " although the religiosity of Muslims deserves respect, not only the theology but also the anthropology of Islam is very distant from Christianity."

    JP2

  • "He (the God of the Koran) is ultimately a God outside of the world, a God who is only Majesty, never Emmanuel, God-with-us. Islam is not a religion of redemption. "

    JP2

wjweigand, before you spout lies, inform yourself. In fact do something novel....read a book.

  • hes not trying to be anything, that's just his style. hes not looking for fame, or money, just to spread the word of God.

he cant be an awesome priest and an awesome bassist? at the same time?

please note, this isent during mass.

its just a talk give to a bunch of kids on a retreat.

  • The man is standing in the sanctuary, with his back to the tabernacle, telling jokes and playing non-sacred music with all the attention focused on him. I don't know if you are Catholic, but in a Catholic Church, the tabernacle contains the Blessed Sacrament which is the Real presence of our Lord. If he wants to do his stand up routine, he can do it in a gym. As an entertainer, I think he is very talented, but to mix the two is wrong because it detracts from the sacred office of the Priesthood.

  • OK, so he's not standing directly in front of it, gimme a break. I guess if he turned his head as far left as he could, he might be able to catch a peripheral glance of it. But you bring up another good point. WHY IS THE TABERNACLE OFF TO THE SIDE? Shouldn't that be the center of my attention at a Catholic church? The new order focus is on man. "Look how cute I am... look at me, look at me, look at me...and oh yeah, ever now and again I gotta mention Jesus or something."

  • Hellfire and brimstone, you say so loudly. This man was ordained by Rome.

    Are you a priest?

If you're going to be a head in the sand conservative, at least have the unquestioning respect most do of the clergy, no matter what their actions.

Haven't heard you mention the sex abuse scandal yet.

  • The truth of the Catholic faith cannot change, that's true. You reject Vatican II and the wisdom of those who sit upon the throne of St. Peter. I've met people from Novus Ordo in person so I think I know what I'm talking about. They are, one and all, heretics. Breakaways from the holy see. I pray for your return to the Church.

  • Could you clarify that please... that doesnt seem to make much sense.

  • OOH, heard of them too, bad news, stear clear and stay focused JC's reps.

  • You're too conservative and this guy knows about faith just as much (probably more) than you do.

  • "probably"?!?!?, that's not a very strong endorsement for a man who's been through a seminary and supposedly been a priest for any length of time. Actually though I tend to agree, he probably is a very intellegent man and very knowledgeable, which makes it all the more sad that he still does what he does. Of course most of that knowledge that he recieved in seminary is modernist error, so he can only be held accountable so far, but he still should know better.

  • Modernist error meaning what? He read some Thomas Merton? Other spiritual giants like that?

  • hopkins, modernist error is the rejection of objective revealed truth in favor of subjective individual belief. Modernism was declared a heresy and is logically absurd because if you accept the idea that truth can change over time then nothing we accept today can be trusted because according to modernist belief, truth changes over time, which implies that God's truth cannot be trusted. This is the simplified explanation, if you want a more in depth explanation, let me know.
