The only thing wrong with Ab' Fab' was Jennifer-bleedin'-Saunders! From her early career with French,& her forays into 'stand-alone' productions such as the godawful "Jam & Jerusalem" she has maintained that air of smugness,as if she's telling everyone,"Oh,look,I'm so much better than this" And Dawn French isn't much better.In everything she's done outside of French & Saunders she clearly thinks all she has to do is don a curly wig & the viewer will be fooled into thinking she's someone else!

@popazz1 dawn and jennifer wrote the fuckin series and dawn was also casted into another brit com the vicar of something great show and it proved that dawn can do shit on her own and didnt use the french & saunders show as a crutch and neither did jenn and it both showed that both series although written together by the pair were complete 2 different series with 2 different styles of comedy you baffoon

@popazz1 According to Saunders in the reunion show, she didn't write everything. Ruby Wax does some writing, but doesn't take the credit for it. Both Vicar of Dibley and AbFab are excellent. They can do great work alone, but there is nothing like French & Saunders.

i know, but part of the reason that "absolutely fabulous" was so successful was because of the character relationships between saffy and eddy, saffy and gran, gran and eddy, saffy and patsy and patsy and gran...im just not sure it'd work without all that. they'd need to be very careful writing the first episode.

you're right. all the sitcoms today strictly depend on canned laughter. if it wasn't for that, people would see how truly boring those shows really are. Martin, Roseanne, Good Times, 2 and a Half Men, even Living Single could all be watched without the canned laughter and STILL be funny. in my humble opinion.

I just saw the episode where Bubble messed up Eddy's business and caused her to lose it. Eddy slaps Bubble at least 10 times, back and forth. It was hilarious. Also, there was an ep where Eddy and Patsy took Saffy to a playground as a child. Patsy was pushing an empty swing and it came back, hit her in the face and knocked her down. Priceless!!!

Meanwhile, Saffron's getting it on with the young, good looking male servant. Edina sniffs Saffron and asks "What's that honey, yogurty smell?" Also, Patsy has diarrhea cramps. Edina asks her, "Did you eat something?" Patsy says, "Not since 1972." Also, Patsy sells Saffron to a local. They find her walking down the street with a basket on her head.
