  • its not a otis

  • lol this thing is so slow XDDDD

  • Dieselducy filmed this one.

  • I don't know what is was originally, but that is a Schindler indicator.

  • That indicator is made by CE Electronics, which sells parts to many elevator manufactures.

  • Schindler tends to use it on their larger elevators.

  • @musicfreakcc SCHINDLER

  • The fixtures look like Montgomery

  • They need to replace this elevator with a faster machine roomless traction elevator, like 200 FPM would be sufficient.

  • Unless it's over 50 years old, it must have been modernized over the years.

  • it was installed in 1958 or 1959

  • OMG 15 sec difference!, practically slowest i've seen

  • This is could have been modernized by Schindler

  • 12-15 seconds to go one floor. how pathetically slow

  • I've seen slower

  • I've been on an elevator that takes 36 seconds to go 20 feet.

  • I totally agree with you.

  • i've been in one at a JCPenny's store and that one is way faster than that but still real slow

  • What is tresgriffin?

  • Yes, they would be more happy if they went with a faster MRL traction elevator.

  • keep in mind, this elevator is from 1957

  • 1 fpm!

  • Is this the only elevator or are there 2?

  • Only one.

  • I was in the old Macy's when I was 3 or 4, and I slightly remember a westinghouse elevator.

  • I think the speed is only 25-50 FPM, which is sick and slow.

  • That is sad.

  • Not only sick and slow, but AGONIZING.

  • There are some schindlers (1996-2001) that have a call register bell. It may be a Schindler modernized elevator, w/ KONE fixtures.

  • Those are 3rd party fixtures! I have seen those on Schindler elevators before. This is an Otis elevator because of the call recognition signal.

  • The elevator at my Bloomingdale's in The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack, NJ is even slower than this and only serves 3 floors (2 store, 1 basement) and brakes a lot. It was only installed in 1977!

  • that elevator is slower than heck its a piece of crap sorry you had to ride it ps ha ha!

  • now i'm starting to think that it's a westinghouse.

  • I know for sure that that elevator is NOT an otis!

  • It has custom fixtures, but the call recognition bell means that the controller is definitely Otis.

  • Looks like a MongomeryKONE to me

  • were you in Bloomingdale Illinois?

  • Nope

  • Okay, so the title would be "Very Slow Otis Hydraulic Elevator at Bloomingdale's."

  • I think it's an Otis elevator, because of the buttons, and the call registration signal when the floor button was pressed.

  • That call registration signal does make me think it's otis.

  • that could be a Dover elevator.

  • that is painfully slow!!

  • ~50 fpm, and almost 50 feet to travel!!!!

  • sounds like a kone

  • Those fixtures are 3rd party. It says nothing about who made the elevator.

  • this is a Thyssenkrupp elevator!

  • Nope.

  • Just kidding, my BF works for Thyssenkrupp so I just said that to be silly!

  • This looks like a Montgomery elevator.

  • it is

  • It was actually modernized by them. I don't know who made it.

  • its a mongomery I can tell by the buttons

  • What is it with Bloomingdales elevators being slow? Every single Bloomingdales seems to have a slow elevator, with the exception of the megastore in New York City.

  • That was originally a Davidson's, then a Macy's.

  • it depends on what kind of elevator it is

  • The Spadina Ave. Parking Garage I asked musicfreakcc to film. That elevator is so slow, he might be in for the slowest elevator ever. The indicator is completely broken and scratched with several unlit LEDs, the buttons are scratched up, the doors are uneven and dented, the walls are completely vandalised. It's impossible to tell P1 from P2 or P3 or P4. One final note, and this is pretty weird one: You can see and hear the elevator start to move before the doors are fully closed on either side.

  • i wonder what feet....i mean inches per second this thing moves at i know it might around 50 feet per minute lmao WHOEVER MADE THIS THING GO THAT SLOW NEEDS A WEDGIE

  • That elevator was originally installed in the 1950's. It was modernized when Macy's moved to the former Rich's location, after the merger, and converted their old location to a Bloomingdale's store.

  • Maybe because of SEVERE AND PREMATURE weardown.

  • Now thats a slow ass elevator.

  • Put "retarded" as a tag.

  • If you're visiting Toronto and you go to Chinatown, can you get a video of the Spadina Avenue parking garage if you park there? I've never been able to get one because I never bring the camera or it's in the hotel.

  • WOW! That elevator should be modernized the buttons dont work right the indecator is flashing and worst of all its really slow and takes a while to start moving

  • Actually, the indicator is fine - it appears to be flashing due to the camera.

  • but the rest should be modernized

  • Oh yes!

  • do you ever here compleants about this? Last year at Florida we stayed at the comfort suites it had a 2 car bank and people would always complain about the elevators being slow but they wernt really slow the speed was 200FPM but it takes for ever to come because its so busy they should get more elevators put in and the elevators there are esco

  • Elevators are the bane of many peoples' existence.

  • The one at Maingate East? Is it that one? The Peabody has a much faster elevator.
