You saw it how many ammo is in it and how many shots you need to kill somebody, in other words, the gun is used for repelling somebody from you so you can take your time and choose other gun to kill it fast if you are surrounded by many, i forgot, but does this gun needs a charge up to give more powerful hit ?

I think this is right as when you pass through the large area with the tram stop, there is a tripod carcus on the floor that you (Isaac) kill in Dead Space 2. Extraction is a load of shite but it's got a good ending when you hear the USS Kelgin (?) approaching the Ishimura.
