You can't compare the two. Jeter is considered to be one of (if not the best) shortstops in the game. Hes statistically and overall a better player.

jose may be faster and more talented than jeter, but its obvious that jeter is the better player, hes been around for almost 15 years and is a proven clutch player, hes a good influence on the team and is guaranteed to go to the hall of fame with his soon to be 3000+ hits and 5+ world series rings, jose reyes is still somewhat unproven and immature, maybe he will be as good as jeter one day, but as of now, jeter is the superior player in just about every way

jeter is having a great season, but is past his prime. reyes had a really average season before he was injured but is still in his prime. i think jeter will still be thought of as one of the best shortstops ever. reyes is ridiculously fast and is still really good though.
