  • He didn't mention lag or the fact that the big fleet fights involve just looking at little coloured flashing squares and are nothing like the videos at all.

  • Really good video I knew most of it but gives ALOT of information people need

  • Awesome guide, thanks.

  • 3:44 the amarr are a bunch of faggets that got their ass kicked by those "slaves".

also concord got raped........ read the novel!

  • Hey anyone know the ship at 2:18. Always wanted that one.

  • @ZiegKnow It's a Rattlesnake, the pirate version of the Scorpion. The Scorpion and Scorpion Navy issue are almost identical but with different textures.

  • @szyzyg Thank you.

  • @szyzyg how long would it take to get a decent ship to do mining like a barge or something? and can i have an invite for my trial? thanks -IconicBekrut

  • @IconicBerkut Spelling error... my youtube name is the same as my eve account

  • @IconicBerkut You already have an eve account? Then you don't need a trial? Message me personally and I'll sort you out either way.

  • Great intro, think I'm gonna try this out if I can find time!

  • "And if it's your destiny, you could lead your alliance to conquest over space while flying a giant Titan, also known as Space Penis."

That line just made my day. I really want to try out the game (tried it back in 2009 but it was a bit overwhelming at the time), too bad I can't. Curse you, dorm proxy server! Ah well, great video, thanks a lot for the info.

  • @xajclarkx Good thing it's the test server - 100isk each.

  • i've already had a 14 day trial, and it expired. am i still eligible for a buddy invite, or is this not possible?

  • @Oddjob23747 Not on that account. You'll have to use the buddy invite to create a new account.

Also, if szyzyg doesn't get back to you, feel free to send me a message for a buddy invite.

  • @Oddjob23747 Pretty sure it is NOT possible. Sorry, mate, you gotta start paying with your hard-earned cash :)

  • Did he just say 'space penis'

  • 9:55 Sky does NOT have the money to buy those blueprints.

  • Nice video. I wish I had seen this 2 years ago when I started.

  • @jabberwoke1 Wish i had this when the tutorial in game of eve was how to move shoot mine and that was it

  • i think its like 400+ ships in eve by the way, should double check that tho

  • @wildcat20021 8 Assault Ships, 12 BattleCruisers, 25 Battleships, 4 Black ops, 2 Capital Industrials, 4 Carriers, 8 Command Ships, 4 Cov Ops, 29 Cruisers, 4 Destroyers, 4 Dreadnoughts, 4 Electronic Attack Ships, 3 Exhumers, 8 Freighters, 33 Frigates, 8 Heavy Assault Ships, 4 Heavy Interdictors, 13 Industrials, 8 Interceptors, 4 Interdictors, 4 Logistics, 4 Marauders, 3 Mining Barges, 8 Recons, 4 Noobships, 4 Bombers, 4 T3's, 4 Titans, 8 Transports, 8 Shuttles & 18 'Rare' ships= 258

  • @szyzyg props for taking the time to figure that out lol, but are you counting the faction stuff too? cynabal, vigilant, ect

  • @wildcat20021 Yes - that's why there are odd numbers of battleships, cruisers and frigates (instead of multiples of 4)

  • @szyzyg u mind sparing 1billion isk to the Eli-Eris Spartan fund lol.

  • In case any of you are wondering at 1:39 the last one is Crucible.

  • Hi plz can you i contact you?

  • interesting. ive just downloaded the trial nd i find it interesting with the market there, as i trade stocks on the real markets daily.

  • @cubismo85 Real world stock market is WAAAY more complex. The EVE market most resembles just the commodities market imho. The most impressive thing about the market is that, with few exceptions, everything on the market is being bought and sold by players. To outsmart the market, you have to outsmart the other players.

EVE is a PVP game and is all about competition and conflict. If this competitive gameplay does not appeal to you, you might not like EVE.

  • good on you you have got a shitload of plex/gametime from this, wish i could be as convincing :)

  • 10:00 VERY nice loot that any self respecting pirate corp will be willing to throw a lot of ships after in order to get it :)

  • Hey, I'm just wondering if you can buddy invite me. I'd really like to give this a try.

  • And just to clarify for everyone, you don't have to play this game for a long time to get to the best bits. I've been playing for 8 months and i am already flying with a well known null sec alliance, getting huge PVP fights every single day and having access to some of the best ways to make money. That is quite unlike any other MMO, where you have to sink thousands of hours to get to the best bit, EVE is in no way linear.

  • ;P played thsi game 2-5 years ago...

Got bored as hell, now I'm hoping I've grown up enough t'enjoy the game :3

  • Nice Guide :D i have been thinking to give Eve a try, but i am a littel bit sceptical about something.

1: when during PVP, do i control my ship, with guns and movement and all that or...or how does it work

2: if my ship is destroyed by a NPC or pirat...is it gone for good ?...and what do i do then....

3: i have heart that when i die in the game, i lose skill.....so if i have spend 1 month or more on getting a skill i can lose that skill right away becorse it is the newest skill i learn ??

  • @swatski87 This is in the video - but I'll clarify.

1: Control and combat in Eve is like captaining a ship, you're giving orders to the helm and the weapon systems, you're not manually aiming a turret or maneuvering the ship.

2: If your ship is destroyed, it's gone, you can travel back to station and buy a new one.

3: You only lose skill if you let your pod get killed and you haven't been paying to keep your clone up to date (very cheap). This is *very* rare, keep your clone updated!

  • @szyzyg Can I go deep into a wormhole with a space penis?

  • @szyzyg You also lose skill points if you fly T3. Tengu, Legio etc

  • @swatski87 1.you controll your guns, movement and all your modules but if you want to fire your guns you click a button that signifies the gun, you dont keep clicking a button like an fps

  • Comment removed

  • @swatski87 Additionally, get used to thinking of your ships as disposable tools. Like a health bar on a WoW or Diablo character. You will lose ships, lots of them. You will also have lots of ships, because they are not just tools, but specialized tools. Only buy ships you can easily afford to replace.

  • @swatski87 To further comment on what Szyzyg said, updating your clone costs you in game money, not real money. My recommendation is: Try the 14 days trial, find someone to coach you asap and give it the whole 14 days to make up your mind

  • 9. EVE is full of scammers, and there aren't a lot of rules 11:25

    10. PVP in EVE is truly epic, making other games look like nothing 12:20

    Hope that helps!

  • TL;DW

    1. it costs $15 a month but when you're a veteran you can pay with in-game money, and the expansions are all free 0:32

    2. you need a shader model 3 graphics card, but you probably have one 1:46

    3. it doesn't matter what your character is 3:07

    4. many kinds of ships offer widely varying gameplay 3:56

    5. no joysticks, you give orders to your ship rather than "fly" it 5:10

    6. skills train in real time 6:00

    7. the economy is HIGHLY player-driven 6:57

    8. learn about security status!! 8:35

  • WooT!!!

    i want EVE online!

  • @mehmarcus1995 Go for it. Most exciting MMO I've tried thanks to the sandbox. Only played big name MMO's though. Join RvB. You will be shooting people in the face day one.

  • lol i just wana mine :D

  • Hey dude, can I do the buddy program with you? (directed towards author of video)

  • tyryed the game,it sucks

  • @brbdndwtf Sorry to hear that, but the game is a sandbox and is only what you make of it.

  • @BrettonRaymond takes forever to get good and enjoy the game,I played a game like that in the past but i dont have the time now.

  • Comment removed

  • can i please have a 21 day thing if the deals still on?

  • Good advice. Advice given on this video is specifically for the new players or the ones that are interested. Thumbs up!

  • Please send me a 21 day buddy invite. My email is: a.esteves@uol.com.br

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Comment removed

  • I have a question. I have started my trial just today. Could you still send me a 21 day trial and get it successfully?

  • @thejoker117717 You would need to make a new account to get an extended 21 day game time, the 14 day trial and buddy invite doesn't stack unfortunately

  • This game looks incredable; I love space so much! Can you send me a 21 day trial please? :) Shall I send you a private message on youtube?

  • Can somebody send me 21 day trial? TY in advance

  • @Danovsan message me directly

  • @szyzyg Your videos seem pretty decent, I'm subscribed. If you have a few minutes look at my videos. It's some piano music videos, played by me. Only two as of now.

  • @szyzyg Wow your channel is 6 years old?!

I hope you got some really good passwords on it and your emails.

Just saying, wow rarely see channels that old.

Well I sent you a message for a trial buddy invite thing. I suppose I need to download the game lol.

  • @szyzyg can i too? i would want to play, (BTW i love you tutorial)

  • @Danovsan send me mail

  • so is it say posible for a veteran player to pay a newby account using ingame credits?

  • @brbdndwtf There's a long and complicated answer to that.... (I may may a video on the subject one day) But, If I were to need an extra account I'd be able to bootstrap it using my existing in game cash (you can transfer money and assets between accounts). To start out with a plain 21 day trial and make the 500million needed before time runs out is theoretically possible but unlikely.

  • @brbdndwtf

it is possible to be paying for your own account with ingame credits within 6 months. in perhaps 8 months you could have 2 accounts going

  • Nice video! I would like a buddy invite! My email is joachim.duner@gmail.com!

  • The 0,0 isn't realy the ENDGAME i think in EVE there is no Endgame. I was allready in .0 and i don't like the big fights i like the small fights around 10-30 Pilots in each side this is what bring a lot of fun to me. I play EVE since 2005.

  • battles involving thousands of players o.0 well, i not quite sure about that many, would probably lag a computer majorly, also i doubt more than 250000 people play(actively, i sure there have been mroe than a million or so players over this games life span), most pay to play MMOs tend not to have as many players, if it was Free to play then it would have more players (for those complaining cause they P2p it, here a compromise.remove the # of day trail and replace it with a limit level. Like WoW

  • i'm downloading eve now is it still okay to play even if i'm new? can i make something of myself even though it's been out for a while now

  • Hey i'm downloading the game now can i get a 21 day trial please

    jamesrobbo21875@bigpond.com

  • man u explained excactly what EvE (as a sandbox ) is. very good video keep on going

  • Thanks for the upload this games looks very interesting i'll give it a try, about that last part (Red vs Blue pvp) Will i loose my ship completely if killed?

  • @MegaMananaman Yes, if you didn't lose your ship then it would make territorial wars pointless.

So... that's why RvB likes fighting in really cheap ships.

  • @szyzyg Thanks alot for answering. Im playing as we speak this might take time to get used to hehe, currently stuck on a tut mission.. ._.

  • thank you for the video!

  • To everyone who likes PVP, with the chance of loosing more than 10 points of armorpoints like in Wow, browsergames, where you see the changes more than a stupid number on a building calles mainhouse, and you like to feel free and play with fun even with 2 hours online a day, then play EVE, and if you get confused by the game at any time, write me a message in EVE, im Billyboy Elarik

  • 206 likes = mhe ok

0 dislikes = YOU MUST BE GOD !!!

  • I want to try this game but i need more time plz add me to the buddy list

  • a readly good video!

  • so how long would you estimate it would take someone to starting paying for their monthly subscription with in game money? from the very start

  • @AJAnewage I've not played for a year so my advice may be a bit out but:-

Within 3 months you can solo level 4 missions in high sec, will cover the cost of subscription with 6-10 hours per week of mission running (grinding)

4-6 months and you can upgrade your ship and equipment cutting you to 4-8 hours.

+6 months you join a 0.0 alliance and run missions out there. will make enough in 2-3 hours per week.... con't

  • @AJAnewage Con't....

HOWEVER!!!! you could get your expensive mission ship ganked and have to replace that out of your profits as well as pay your subs.

Trading, mining, building, stealing can all make money as well.

  • nice intro for the noobs mate

  • Excellent video, sir. Wish I'd seen this when I started!

  • Space Penis!

  • Great!

  • As a day one EVE player, this is a great introduction video. Well done!

  • + 5 internetz ,damn fine vid for nubs , and nice to hear a uk voiced vid , props =)

  • Quality vid

  • SSE3 is not a requirement, shader model 3, and SSE2 are, just trying to make sure no-one's put off by that mistake.

  • Well done, excellent video; I'll refer people to this in the future.

Extra credit: +1 for suiciding in Uedama, +1 for Blaster Apocalypse.

  • Thank you thats all i can say

  • Point number 11: Getting killed means you loose your ship. Unlike other MMO's you do not respawn with your gear. If your ship is destroyed it's GAWN! This is what makes pvp (and pve) exhilarating! Great vid Scott!

  • Excellent video! I'm definitely going to direct my friends who are interested in getting into EVE to this video.

  • i did not find this usefull as i been playing for a year but fucking hell is the so true +1

  • came for the tips. stayed for the accent ^^

  • Too bad you didnt show any 1k blobfests :P

  • Mate, i love ur voice and ur accent. Good job :)

  • Ok, I can't believe I'm the first to comment on this, but GOOD GOD YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO OWNS THOSE BPO'S?!?!?! Secondly Did you they really risk them by putting them in cargo for A VIDEO? Wow, maybe slim chance of getting caught with her pants down but what a loss that would have been to make a video. Good job on the vid, props.

  • @Bobnerin1 If you hadn't guessed - that scene was recorded on the test server. I spent 100isk for each of those.

  • Buddy whore! good vid though.

  • I wish I had an accent like yours. Is it Irish?

  • As of december all current eve online players with an active subscription have received a ONE TIME use time code that gives you SIXTY days to try the game out. A great way to introduce someone to the game and potentially worth 30$ if that person continues to play game, either by subscribing or by having created a healthy income those 60 days.

I have two codes, available. Anyone that wants to try it out can PM me, I also encourage other eve players to do the same.

    devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3234

  • awesome video im gonna try the game:D... if the offer is still valid im interested in that 21-day trial you spoke of;)

  • If anyone is watching this and wishes to play eve, send me a message. CCP recently gave everyone a code for a 2 month (yes 2 months) trial to give to their friends. Sadly over the years I've pestered all my friends to play eve, and they all left and quit. I'm willing to answer noob questions as well.

  • Once you pass the 1 year mark it becomes a bit easier.

  • Great video, i was unsure if i wanted to start plaing EVE or but you've helped me make up my mind!

  • lol its funny how the video was somewhat serious till he mentioned the Titan.

he had me drawn to the whole till he said "while flying a giant Titan, also known as a Space Penis"

  • PLEX was a fucking brilliant move on CCP's part, fantastic idea

  • @Tehnexie What corp are you with? Ive been playing for a few months and I have a fairly decent ship with some pretty good hardware on it. But I always find myself just running agent missions and getting emails from "beginner" corporations who like to help out new folk. Granted yea I still am kinda new, but Id like to find a corp or something, that goes out and does things, like pirating or group mission running. Not just sitting in a chat room discussing what different classes mean.

  • man 1st day i started playing EVE...it was soo confusing..but later on it starts to get easy :D

  • @DarKSoNTHeLegEnd Nah, later on you begin to realize how damn complex it actually is. ^^

  • great video

  • @Tehnexie IMHO this is why the game's so "hard" for people to get into. For me, i play this game from time to time since 2009 and i can start a trial, get a PLEX on it and get to doing what ever i'm feeling like very fast and with no issues. The game doesn't require much training or time to get you going, it's just that that it's not a straightforward "here's a quest, here's your rewards, move on to the next quest" game. The lack of grinding is only a plus.

  • I think I got popped by your daughter :(

  • i have a machine from 2000, i cant play EVE anymore

    shitty wallet is shitty :(

  • I always wanted to get into EVE but I just couldn't take the waiting for my skills to progress, waiting days or weeks, and just by you saying it would take like 1-5 years to learn everything. I tend to be a very impatient person so the waiting is my biggest gripe. Also i found it very difficult to navigate and i couldn't find were i was meant to go (other words i was greatly lost....). Since it was 2 years since i played i wanted to try again. but i need an opinion and help.

  • @goldaceofspades The thing with eve is that the system will never let you be perfect at *everything* but you don't need to be a perfect ship pilot, miner, inventer, ship builder, alliance leader all at once - you can certainly reach perfect skills for a few ships in reasonable time, and with even a few days worth of training you can participate effectively in PVP, in 60 days you can solo most NPC's in the game.

  • @goldaceofspades Its a difficult game that requires a huge amount of patience at first. In the start you can practically do nothing useful. If you want to start you really need to fight in the beinning, but trust me once you pass the terrible start the fun begins. CCP really managed to make a game that is not noob friendly.

  • @goldaceofspades eve is hard to start out, older players seem to forget how frustrating the game is when you have little to no isk and you are waiting for 5 days to train some support skill to V which doesn't even get you a new toy to play with. Try to not look at skilling up as advancing in the game, and focus on making money, you get a 'second wind' when you can finally fly and fit a cool looking ship and have all the support skills for it, you will need loads of isk to lose a few of them lol

  • @goldaceofspades im a 5 mil sp pilot and i have already been to null and back and now im in a pirate corp killing 15-30 ships a day between solo and group encounters. The thing about eve is you are going to die, get lost, get raped, and beaten savagely. but if you put in the effort to learn it you can turn around and kill pilots of any SP level as the video says above. I have killed a 2004 pilot and im a 2011 pilot. and late 2011 at that. give it another shot.

  • @Chandler312 just to add to your comment, character birthdate doest matter either, ive met a 2003 char that only had 20 something million sp. just never know, thats the awesome thing about eve, "the unknown". GOOD LUCK, FLY SAFE, "but not too safe". \o

  • the laptop that I am typing this on is a 2007 acer aspire 5100...and guess what: NO SM3 GODDAMMIT :) lol I raged for weeks when incarna came out and I found out that i was no longer able to log in :)

  • great! :) But i think that community of EVE is a bit 'hardcore' and unfriendly with new players.

  • britsh space penis :)

  • A video like this has always been needed to introduce people to EVE Online; I am so glad someone has actually produced one! EVE Online is a HUGE game, even when you climb that steep learning curve, you will see bigger mountains on the horizon [not to put anyone off, as you can have a lot of fun]!

I really appreciate this video, now I can just link this video for beginners!

    Peace,

    Tabs27.

  • @Tehnexie Yeah I had considered that, but I really wanted to concentrate on 'day 1' stuff, RVB is the only corp I highlight because they're a perfect demonstration of the ability of brand new players to participate in PVP. I'm hoping to make some more videos, and corps will get some discussion later.

  • @Tehnexie I can understand, but many people prefer it to being forced to grind your way through hundreds of inconsequential rats.

  • 2bad u didnt release this video in 2007 when i started also i wish u were my uncle :/

  • can i have a 21day pass :( lol i wanna try this game

  • @vader3435 message me with an e-mail address

  • also u forgot 2 mention that u get one month for free if they register by your buddy invite :D

  • Dont miss the chance to try this awesome game, i admit its not made for everyone and it starts pretty slow, but if u really get into it found a nice corp and maybe finally arive at 0.0 u will find yourself on never wanna stop again ;)

  • scr*w pvp eve is all about pve

  • 5 more months i shall be 16 i shall have a job and i shall be able to play this gmae =D

  • Before 07:03 "Yeah this looks pretty good". After 07:04 "it is integral that I play this majesty of a game!"

  • Thanks for the vid. Now ever time a noob joins I'll tell them to watch this. Love the vids.
