what a lovely place you have, simon. and a black kitty too LOL! i hope you're very happy here. one piece of advice though. there's plenty of space in your garden soo you could fit in a few rescued chooks, rabbits, ferrets and so on. just sayin ... hee hee. i love your place. any spare rooms going?
Nice camera Simon. But the date needs to be reset on it. And i am insanely jealous of your birdsnest fern, and your staghorn fern is the most lush I have ever seen. Did you grow them or are they new?
two years ago my dad and i spent a day in the garden splitting and re-potting and installing irrigation pipes. He's a miser with the water but I've been doing it for the last few weeks, so everything is thriving. Several of the ferns (haresfoot and chicken ferns)have been brought back from the brink of death and the staghorns are tiny by my standards. We used to have one mounted on the tree at the back which measured 6 feet top to bottom and 6'6" wide. Cheers.
@LaughatNAZIs Noice. My mate has a huge staghorn that is an heirloom- her grandmother grew it and all the women in the family have offcuts. Hers is HUGE. We feed it banana skins and back away slowly....
Thanks cob. I do like the place, but I wish I were elsewhere. You know what the problem is. It's just gonna take time, but I see the right person to get on with things early next week. Can't be over fast enough for me and then I'm off like a month old wheelbarrow of custard.
Yeah, I guess 39 is warm enough to call hot. Normally I try to regard any forcast in the 30s as merely warm, cos you run out of words for 42, 44, 46. A day or two over 40 is ok, but a week, ten days or a fortnight in the 40s sucks.
