Yes I was lucky enough to get cast in that commerical back in 1956. Funny thing I took my black Cocker Spanial to the audiction for him to selected for the commerical, but he lost out and I got the part as the older son. I was very fortunate to do four commericals and a couple of appearances on Burns and Allen, Whirleybirds and Leave It To beaver, but my career ended in 1960 and I went on to work for the Fire Dept for nearly 32 years.
@livin4the1950s1 I have a large collection of TV shows from 1948-1974 as aired. I pulled most of these from them. I left in show parts where i could. Have some complete 1950's TV shows on my channel also.
great commerical, I was the kid in the white sweater, it took three days to shoot, mostly on location in the Brentwood area. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see it again.
I was one of those kids who rode in the 56 special no seat belts just a belt attached to the rear of the front seats thats what we held onto back then.
"THE HONEYMOONERS", as sponsored by Buick during the 1955-'56 season, always featured just ONE middle commercial in every episode (about two minutes), narrated by Jackie Gleason's announcer, Jack Lescoulie. This is one example, from early 1956...
