Deng Xiaoping was not the previous ruler of China. He was the person who designed and engineered the economic system of China and has made China the economic power that it is today. He was an important figure in Chinese history I'll give you that. But ruler of China is not correct.

@lincolnrockwell that's what I thought when I saw this video. In edepot's defense, the title says "largest Chinese statue in the world" and not "largest statue in the world" insinuating that it is the largest statue among Chinese figures (if that is the largest Chinese statue).

China does have the largest statue in the world. It's the Spring Temple Buddha in Lushan, Henan, China. It's 420 feet tall.
