Oh my god i am in love with this... He did such an amazing job singing this live, and the audience singing the chorus with him sounds great too! He's such a cutie :)
Yes we did have oh so many great singers song writers back then. Is all I still listen to today. I was like 19. sure do miss going to all those concerts.
I hate people say the shit i listen to is weird , while they are listening to lady gag and other gay ass pop shit which is the disco of our generation. When will this gay pop shit pass and actually using a musical instrument and a good voice come back .
Although this video is from 1981, this song is actually from 1972. For some reason he dropped several verses of the song, perhaps b/c this was on TV and one verse mentions getting high.
@artykaveman - yes, after all, "Footloose" includes electric guitars, synthesizers etc. that Kenny Loggins wrote, recorded and performed. however, music produced and performed like "Danny's Song", "Fire & Rain" (James Taylor), "Leader of the Band" (Dan Fogelberg) etc. has a way of touching the heart that seems to be unmatched with predominantly synthesized music.
@seismotronik Im 22 and I agree. I would love to see him, a true unsung hero of the music industry. fromt his stuff even to the score work he did. A great guy. he still performs BTW, he was on the today show maybe a year ago doing footloose : )
@buckracer I am in my mid twenties and I was fortunate enough to meet him some years ago in Crusted Butte, Colorado during a Country in the Rockies event, basically a fund Raising event for Cancer and Medical Research. He was preforming with others in a small bar and went for a break outside. I rushed outside to try and at least get a picture. I thought he had taken off. While I was looking around he came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder, it was pretty cool. He was very nice.

this song is awesome, totally, but to claim that synthesized music is not true music seems rather ill-informed.
