  • the book of Mormon is true...... find out for your self and stop believing what others have to say about Mormon.... you would never find out if and apple is sweet untill you have eaten it your self....the same goes to the book of Mormon....read and pray about it then you know the truth for your self........ i love you all my brothers and sister you might don't know this but we knew each other before we game to this life.... and we are here to be tested....i pray that we see each other again..

  • My good sir, what is magic about temple garments? That they protect you from evil? Do you believe in the symbol of the cross or any other religious symbol that could protect a person from evil? Garments are no different, except that they are spiritually consecrated and are supported by the bible. There is no magic about the garments.

  • magic underwear? really? god was of the flesh and had marital relations with mary? really?!?! john smith, a known con man, moves to the middle of nowhere finds a golden book no other human ever saw, "translates" that book and reveals the truth about jesus? really?!?!?!? native americans are a lost tribe of israel? REALLY?!?!?!?!? we will become gods and rule our own planets in the after life? REALLY?!?!?!?!?!? and this is supposed to have something to do with christianity?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? right.

  • You think we wear magic underwear? Really?? You think we teach god had marital relations with Mary? REALLY??? You think the first prophet of this dispensation's name was John? REALLY????????????? You think no other human ever saw the golden plates? REALLY?????????? I could go on. It goes to show that there are a LOT of untruths circulating about the LDS church. And the pending approval thing is to keep this from becoming an argument board where people post hateful comments (not saying yours was)

  • Well..... actually..... according to the Apostle Bruce R. McConkie (Mormon Doctrine, pg 741-2; 822), Brigham Young (Journal of Discourses 8:211) and Joseph Fielding Smith Jr (Religious Truths Defined, pg 44), God the Father did have sexual...I mean "marital"... relations with Mary.

Not that it matters, really. Just thought I'd clarify.

  • Thank you for bringing this up, and good point. Some people have come to the conclusion that Heavenly Father had actual intercourse with Mary. The problem with this is two-fold: 1) These comments are not official doctrine of the church, but the official church doctrine is that Jesus was born of a virgin, and 2) all the quotes I could verify refer to the "natural" nature of Jesus' conception which may also mean that Jesus literally had God's DNA in him, as opposed to being a figurative son of God

  • In the same way that we are all mortal because Adam and Eve sinned, yes. I don't think that you're a bad person because Adam and Eve sinned, though -- you're just mortal because of it.

  • Does everyone know that the book of mormon is rascist? It talks about how God cursed some people and they turned black. You wonder why there is very few African Americans in the Morman Temples? God made all people, beutifuly and wonderfully made. God Bless (I am a born again Christain)

  • No, the B of M doesn't say that. It says that people can bring curses upon themselves, and one of those curses was darker skin, not black, as in African. Many of the most righteous people in the Book of Mormon were the posterity of these "cursed" people, and the white people were destroyed because they were bad. How's that for racism? :) The Mormon church teaches that God doesn't discriminate based on anything - He wants us to follow Him and keep His commandments, but He loves us no matter what

  • I used to work with a Nurse who followed the book of mormon. She was a very nice polite caring lady. All followers of that religion I meet are the same, well mannered and polite. So stop hating.

I don't really believe in any religion, I was born into a Catholic family and refused to be brainwashed into believing the greatest lie ever told.

If religion works for you then great, but don't preach it on people.

    Peace

  • Dear viewer, Just a quick thought -- if you don't believe what's in this video, then no amount of commenting or correcting from me is going to change that. There is no need for pointless, negative comments about the video or the LDS ("Mormon") church. If you don't agree, that's fine, but I didn't post this video to start arguments; I did it to get the official position of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints online so that there would be an alternative to the many lies about it online

  • The Bible says that humans are made of dirt.

And that snakes and donkeys talk.

And that insects have 4 legs.

    And that bats are birds.

And that the earth is flat.

And that the sun revolves around the earth.

And that Pi = 3 rather than 3.1416...

And that animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman.

So why are you picking on Mormons?

  • we don't believe in polygamy.

  • Those higher up? How are they dangerous?

  • polygamy believe it or not, is not practiced by nearly all mormons. but there are still people who practice and call themselves true mormons but in reality i look at them as more of a subcategory ruining the churches publicity.

  • I thought Mormons worshiped Satan. I have seen a lot of videos about that.

  • Yes mormons believe in exaltation. But why do people think that makes them wrong? Haha it kills me how ppl single out mormons. Oh my god their a cult! Yeah right.. I live in UTAH. I'm not blind. Mormons are good ppl.

People just want hella attention when they try to disrespect them. Thats fucked up when ppl dis on other religions. Hella fucked up. Weather your buddhist, muslim, mormon, catholic, I respect you. All those who don't are clowns.. make themselves look dumb to impress us.

  • In response to the question about us believing in more than one god (I accidentally hit 'remove' instead of 'reply'): Mormons believe in God the Eternal Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. Three personages, one God. We worship the Father in the name of the Son.

  • inyour private post to me you said i was accustory and rude and not on the central subject... that is why you remvoved my comments... what was so rude about what i said... i do know mormonism and what makes you think my info is not from the sources you mention ..btw...GOD from the BIBLE is everywhere at all times so does he reside in one particular place according to the BIBLE ..no... you beleive in the BIBLE so you should know that... but it seems to me you want to censore me.. your vid so....

  • check D and C 121:32...132:18-20,37... boa chapters 4 and 5....bom alma 18:26-28and 22:8-11.. i do know your(mormon) doctrine...sea-ya

  • Good scriptures. But knowing scriptures is not the same as understanding them. What do you think it means when God said "Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness" (Genesis 1:26)? I don't want to "censor" you, but I don't want accusatory statements on here (e.g. labeling me a liar). We only worship one God, regardless of whether or not other Gods exist, as stated in numerous scriptures including Genesis.

  • I'm glad you quote the Bible.... we agree to disagree but isn't exaltaion where you become a god and rule over your own planet??? also the Bible doea not talk about any other gods.. and even acknowledging them means you believe they exist... sea-ya

  • This polygamy issue is like a rotten septic system that will boil to the surface of the land. What is rotten to the core cannot be covered over; it will be found out. Mormons are not Christians, yes you use other "scriptures" which is completely contrary to the BIBLE. Also you folks believe that Joseph Smith is God. My niece had a Mormon teacher in Ogden who tried to brainwash the kids into believing that Joseph Smith was God. "Mommy, Is Joseph Smith God?"

    Mormons believethey can become Gods.

  • HCP: I appreciated the dialogue, but you are turning to accusation. Are you looking for information or just seeking to vindicate your false beliefs about Mormons? I am not attacking your beliefs on God - you are free to believe what you wish about Him, however, you have clearly been misinformed about Mormons, their beliefs, their prophets, and my grandfather (where does my grandfather fit into all of this?). I am happy to entertain honest discussions on this board, but not allegations.

  • The Myths may be out there but also the truth is out there. And your grandfather was at the center of the evil. What about Mountain Meadows Massacre??? Have you never heard of this?

  • Your right the mountain meadows massacre was wrong but do you know the events that caused it? Do you know that the prophet at the time ordered the mormon militia not to attack but the capitan did anyway? Research before you throw out accusations

  • A couple definitions of Christian from the dictionary:

"7. a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity.

    8. a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ: He died like a true Christian.

    "

Totallyturtles: Where did your definition come from?

Also, your "proof" that Joseph Smith was not a prophet is based on historical inaccuracies -- if you want to know the truth for yourself, you can only know it by the Spirit of God(1 Corinth 2:14-16)

  • and also he was a mere farm boy if you read the book of mormon, it ties in so much with the bible that he couldn't make that up with his knowledge. It only took him 3 years to translate he would have had to be a huge bible scholar who dedicated his life to the bible but he was just a farm boy who translated it in 3 years.

  • ok so tell me this. Why did joseph smith continue to preach if he was beaten, tarred and feathered, 2 of his kids died becuase of a mob, people tried to kill him every day, he was persecuted, put in jail a number of times, and died for this religion. the reason is becuase he KNOWS he saw jesus and heavenly father in the sacred grove. he KNOWS he found the real plates and can translate them.

  • They are nice and generous people however their "faith" is works-based; that they can get to heaven through their works, contrary to what the Bible says. Of course we need to be tolerant of them but we should never be sucked into the evil of their origins. You need to read about Porter Rockwell, Brigham Young's right hand mafia man, killing for Young and blaming it on the Indians. It is one sick history.

  • Okay, one more thing. The LDS doctrine of faith is ABSOLUTELY based on works. So was the faith of the Apostles of Jesus Christ - for evidence, read the entire book of James, not to mention the entire New testament, but especially read the book of James and ponder it. You CANNOT have faith unless you have the works to go along with it. Anybody who tells you that you only need to "believe" is perverting the scriptures. I would be happy to discuss this in depth with anyone who wants to know more.

  • Great video, BUT: The Bible is very clear that you may not add one jot or one iota to the Word of God and to do so is blasphemous. It is true that Mormons are giving and loving people but the foundations of their "faith" are evil through and through. Joseph Smith was tarred and feathered and hung because he was a womanizer, a polygamist, a thief. The Mountain meadows Massacre, set in place by Brigham Young was only one situation where Mormons murdered people crossing the US.

  • @HCelticPrincessness:

I totally understand where you are coming from, but it is the book of Revelations says that you cannot add to or take away from IT. Even though it's last in the Bible, it was written before other books in the New Testament. Check to see if I'm correct -- John recorded the revelation while he was in prison on the island of Patmos - before all the other books were compiled into the Bible. Also, what you heard about Joseph Smith is slander, and he was not hung.

  • What I have read is the book about the evils of Porter Rockwell, the right hand man of Brigham Young who murdered anyone that crossed the state.

  • What I also know about Mormonism is that it is based on good works and the individual becoming a God, which is antithetical to Christianity: " Thou shalt have NO other Gods before me." I think Mormons are very good people, afterall they have to be or they will not reach perfection. The real question, imho, is "Are the origins of Mormonism evil?" Are their beliefs even remotely related to Christianity? They are vitually antithetical to Christianity.

  • @HCP: I truly appreciate this sincere dialogue, and I'm glad you brought up this point.

We believe in our potential to become LIKE God, just like a child becomes like his parents. We do not take His place; we cannot usurp his position or his power in any way. We are the offspring of God (Acts 17:29) and can be "heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17) and can "sit with [him] on [his] throne" (Rev. 3:21, see also Psalms 82:6, John 17:11).

  • svetzy...c'mon.... howzabout telling the truth.. your religion believes in exaltaion does it not??? tell me what kolob is.... tell me about D&C132...PULEEZE!!!

  • BigJohn: was I untruthful in anything I said? Are any of your questions sincere, or are you just blowing off steam? You seem to have some exposure to our beliefs, so what "truth" about Mormonism are you looking for?

For the record, we absolutely believe in exaltation, the definition of which is in the comment you replied to: the potential to become like God.

  • I can't vouch for Porter Rockwell at all -- he is a very controversial character in Church history, even among members, but CERTAINLY did not represent any official position of the Church. But I seriously have not learned much about him because he is more of a historical curiosity, and not a part of the Doctrine of Jesus or teachings of the Church in any way.

  • @HCP(continued):We can become as He is, but He will always be our God - and everyone's God. It is the idea of eternal progression: we have the potential to be as He is and to continue our families in eternity (Genesis 22:17). But I agree, if someone wanted me to bow down to them, and said they were going to be my God, I would say they were not Christian either - that is NOT the belief of the LDS Church.

I would be happy to continue talking about this with anyone interested!

  • They're definetely not Christians! There is definite proof that Joseph Smith was not a prophet but the sad thing is that they aren't interested in the truth! If you want to know the truth just e-mail me.

  • The official name of our church is "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints".

Tell me again that I'm not a Christian.

  • Your not a christian...Lots of people claim to have a belife in Christ but that dont mean they are Christians... Muslims are a perfect example they totally believe that Christ is the greatest Prophet but would you consider them Christian or how about Jehova Witnesses they totally believe in Jesus as the Christ but they are not Christians... My point should be clear....

  • ummmm let me think... nope we ARE christians. that was tough

  • How do you know your sources are true? You can only know the truth by the Spirit of God -- I would not put much weight on the hearsay of men. John 7:17

  • "I think they have lots of wives if I'm not mistaken."

wow she has no idea what she is talking about!

  • I think Mormons are like anybody else. They believe very differently that I do, but so does 99% of the world. I think we need to be tolerant of all people. They don't push their religion on me. I think every religion believes they are the true religion, and the Mormons are no exception. I would join the church except for the fact that I do not believe the Joseph Smith story. Anyway, good church, good people, and yes, odd religious beliefs from my perspective.

  • I live around Mormons and they are very nice people in general.
