I'm watching Hercules in both mythology and English, and every time I hear "That's the gospel truth", I'm all "NO IT FUCKING ISN'T" because the movie doesn't even try to be like the myth.

@yukifan7 Wrong. "Hercules" was the Roman version of his name. The Greek name was Herakles (sp?), I believe. Hera wasn't his mother in Greek mythology. Herakles was the son of Zeus and some chick who wasn't Hera. XD I don't remember who. But I know that Hera hated Herakles and cursed him with bouts of insanity during which Herakles killed his wife and (child? children?) family. But you should just Google the myth for the details.

@ilovemyman001 Sometimes it is referred to Hera as his mother.... and Hercules apparently was conceived by the wife of amphytrion ..Zeus just disguised himself as that man so that woman thought it was her husband...and he left ..and then in that same night the real ampytrion came back so yeah.... but it still means that you cant really tell KIDS HERA IS THE STEP MOM OF HERCULES AND HIS AUNT . either way you still cant tell young kids that Zeus liked screwing anything with a whole
