  • AAAAWWWWEEEESSSSOOOMMMEEE video.... loved it , make more please

  • Boeing, anyday of the week.

  • I see this video as a great unbiased comparison - both the A320 and 737 (whether Classic or Next Gen) are fine aircraft. Everyone can decide for themselves which plane they personally prefer - that's why some companies might be all-Airbus, some all-Boeing, and some a mix between the two.

  • As the someone keeps telling the B737 and A320 only differ 3 years that's not true. The B737-100 took its first flight in 1967 and that is almost 20 years before the first A320 ever went airborne in 1987. And about the B737NG it is just a new jacket on the same general body of the old 60s aircraft, and was launched in 1998. So as to compare the two, the NG does look the most the same as the A320 but the NG will not handle much different from the classic shown in the video.

  • Btw in ergonomics and the kinds of systems the A320 uses she is definitely the winner. Still I like flying the B737NG because of the direct sense with the aircraft, and the philosophy of Boeing which I like more over the one of Airbus. Still I'd love to have both types.

  • guys why you want to compare an old a320 with new 737ng :)

  • 737 IS THE KING!

  • everytime when i see airbus cockpit , i have one question.....is it comfortable to land airbus with joystick if i am right handed and joystick is on the left side?

  • @ISeeThemComing You would land the 737 with your left hand on the yoke as well, since your right hand would be on the throttles...

  • @erikbooy but i thought that co-pilot control throttle.....or i am wrong???

  • If ain't Boeing, I'm not going!!!!!

  • A320 cockpit is way better than 737 to take longer naps without interruption and surf the Internet on laptops during tedious cross country flights

  • @popi9898 Pilots aren't supposed to take naps or surf the web while they're on duty in the cockpit. Their job is to stay aware of the plane's current situation, not just assume that the computers are doing everything fine.

  • 737NG Cockpit

  • Yeah brother your comparing a 737 classic model to a Airbus 320 that was probably made in 2000 a more fair balance report would be with a 737NG

  • I understand. The Boeing cockpit still much better than the Airbus for me.

  • when you said the autopilot is on after engine failure on airbus, it was actually not on!

  • it's like compare the A300 VS B777

  • A true aviator should not fly an airbus. Most of the controls decisions is based on the computer, not pilot. Boeing however, continues to keep the spirit of true aviation by having the pilots to fly the aircraft as its naturally is, not corrected by computer. The fact that they will continue to build 737s with the MAX in place shows how it is the true worlds best-selling airliner to be made, with production going to past 50 years. My 2 cents. Boeing > airbus

  • @justincrzo Justin, a true aviator should fly gliders or biplanes on a free and sunny sunday; while I understand the love for classic machines and appreciate the feeling of being in full control of the machine, we are always speaking about a liner, for which is essential to have safety, cleanliness, pilot off-load, automation and so on...and this is why we don't travel with DC3s or ford trimotors anymore! Anyway, nice video and good landings to all of you!

  • i dont think this was biased at all just shows differences he shows the negative things about both aircrafts and the differences on how they work

  • I would be happy with Pranas as my pilot

  • A320 looks so chill , no control column means a lot more comfort and freedom for pilots i think.. also cockpit layout looks more modernized. However i always preferred the looks of the 737

  • @GoldEagleX14 The A320 first flew in 1987. The 737 Classic first flew in 1984. Same decade. It is perfectly fair to compare the two. Had this video been made in 1990, it would look the same; except there would be no 737 NG to mention. It is clear that the A320, being made BEFORE the 737 Classic, is far more advanced in terms of technology and comfort. Just facts guys.

  • Well the 737 is 20 years older construction, and it still sells just as well. So... that about sums it up, doesnt it?

  • @Fabo0315 Are you replying to my comment about the A320/ 737 Classic comparison? Cause if you are, all i was saying was that it IS fair to compare the two. My comment wasn't Airbus vs. Boeing or trying to dump on the 737. Competition between the two is so tight because, the fact is they both make fantastic aircraft. The A320 will keep on selling and so will the 737.

  • @turbofan450 Not specifically.

  • But the 737 Classic was made in the same time as the A320 ;) so its only fair to check them together

  • @tatra96 That's why Boeing made the 737NG. Obviously the slightly newer plane (in this case the A320) would bypass the older plane (737 Classic). But that's what companies do, the newer plane will always beat the older one, but then the first company will shoot right back with something better. That's why Airbus introduced the A320neo, and then Boeing introduced the 737 MAX.

  • Interesting.

I wish they had showed less walking back and forth between the cockpits. got the impression that that was the highlight of the video...

  • Pranas appears to be a nice guy, informative and entertaining! Well, I take the 737 >>>NG<<< not shown in the video over the A320... :) NICE Videos, please more videos!!!!

  • so... which one is better for the pilot ops and performance???

  • its a bit unfair comparing the a320 the the older generation 737's, would have been a lot better if it was compared to the NG's

  • This is A320 vs CLASSIC 737, do a differences video between A320 and 737NG and let us see which one goes better... B737NG rocks!

  • @AviadorLPA The A320 and the B737 Classic were made around the same time, so its fair compared to the B737NG which is still quite new.

  • @AviadorLPA If it's not Boeing, I'm not going!

  • @AviadorLPA

Both plane do fine job; however, you can compare a B737 to a chevy, A320 to a porsche

There is no comparison, 737 is 60's technology even in NG ver. of 737. I have both types and I like A320, it's definitely gentlemen's plane.

  • @AviadorLPA I think it's fair to. Because comparing an OLD Airbus to a NEW Boeing wouldn't be fair. And anyway, neither company is BETTER than the other, its about opinions and what people need and want.

  • @Brulszd I didn't mean to end my first sentence with 'to'. Sorry :)

  • @Brulszd I agree that neither company is better (although I personally prefer Boeing :)), but I think that comparing the 737NG with the A320 is very fair. They are a much closer competition than the A320 is to the Classic. Also I think the late 80s/early 90s were one of Airbus's most successful periods - first the A320, then the A330 and A340. Soon afterwards was a huge answer from Boeing. That's competition.

  • @rockymountainrandom Okay, I'll agree with that, but I don't get why loads of people 'prefer' Boeing. And most of them (Not saying this about you 'cause you clearly know stuff) don't even give Airbus a chance!

  • @Brulszd I guess that for some people Boeing wins, aesthetically - or maybe they just like the design of the planes better, or their philosophy...

    But both companies are winners in my opinion. Not one of them has really "lost" or "won" as a company. I used to be a bit more cynical about Airbus but I now realize that yes, both manufacturers make fine planes, but Boeing planes aren't for everyone (like for US Airways) and Airbuses aren't for everyone (like for Southwest);

  • go a320!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I though this was a video showing the differences, not a sales pitch for the airbus...

  • You should also check the other one where he demonstrates how to start-up A320: Airbus A320 - From Cold and Dark to Ready for Taxiing

  • One interesting thing here is you can notice that they have a 737 CLASSIC simulator. The classics went up to the -500 model. Those airplanes are more than 20 years old. So it is not surprising that everything seems older. Newer 737s have more glass cockpits and better aesthetics. However, there are still some things of the 50+ year old design of the 737 still in there, like warning lights instead of EICAS.

  • @eskercurve if I can link to another video: watch?v=yyqIk1Nn-qU&feature=related. That is a more updated 737 cockpit. Much nicer.

  • @eskercurve I think that it's so pilots of previous 737 models can have an easier transition if they want to become 737NG pilots.

  • This video shows that if you have an underqualifed pilot, the A320 is probably a better choice since the computer probably knows better 99% of the time. That other 1%, its better to be in the 737.

  • Airbus are toys not airplanes and if it was for them pilots would forget how to fly a plane with all dangerous consequences...

  • Excellent video, a true testament to how ahead of it's time the A320 was when it was first designed. Looking back at the dates of entry into service the comparison is very sensible.

  • @CFVHR I should add however that there is no automatic rudder trim on the A320 unless the autopilot is engaged.

  • you can´t compare a 737 classic to an a320...do it with a 737NG!

  • One more thing, my apologies if it seems that our message is that Airbus > Boeing. We all know that one is better at one thing, the other is better at another, it just happened to be that the A is a bit more comfortable. Again, we will be making more videos and I will try to highlight the pros and cons on both a bit more.

I am not rated on neither, but having flown on both sims, I could not answer the question "which I prefer more". They are so very different, but attractive in their own ways.

  • Thank you for the comments! There will be more videos on both the Airbus and the Boeing (one of them released today).

My opinion is that it is fair comparing the 737CL and the A320, because both were started to be produced at around the same time (B737 - 1984, A320 - 1987-88; 737NG - 1998). I used that thought from a comment I saw somewhere, I hope that person doesn't mind.

  • Compare a 737ng with an a320

  • A320 can fly on AP even with one engine failure?

  • @lawai0588 yes.

  • Being rated on both types, I don't think you as a student, are well qualified to comment on these aircraft, let alone put a video on youtube about it!

    Please remove . . . it's embarrassing.

  • @callum5150 Sitting cross-leg in a cockpit is quite unprofessional. Also, this is a 737 classic cockpit and not 737NG which the majority of the airliners today fly.

  • LOL ! him trying to stand and sit in the 737 ! I've been in both aircraft's cockpit , more recently the AA 737 ( not sure which variant ) and it wasn't a challenge to get into the seat. the A320 was quick to jump into and wished I wasn't in a post 9/11 era, I would of asked to ride the jump seat !!! The Airbus is interesting but I see where it has it's down falls, it relies more on computers but still may help in situations like engine failure , making it less strenuous to fly.

  • Why you use 737 (classic) ? - Air Baltic 735 & 733 ?

  • Use the NG 737 why did they use the Classic?

  • idc if its a 737 classic, id prefer to fly that than an Airbus anyday

  • Ok, very nice vid, but I have a few problems with it: first of all, why in the world did you compare a 734 to a A320? You should have compared a 738 or other 73NG to the A320. Second of all, you are very talk so to say you cannot stand up in a B737 cockpit is not true, I am 5'11" and can stand in a 737 cockpit fine. Third of all, on a 737 you have kneeboards for writing, you do not need to use your lap. Fourth of all, when I pilot is in the cockpit, they should not be lounging, the fact that Ai

  • very nice!

  • Interesting & nice vid, that's true, comparison with B737NG would have been more appropriate. (you don't have NG sim if I am right)

You could say more about perf calculations important things (workload) for crew.

I am B737NG(300-900) type rated, and still prefer B737 because I am a pilot...i need to fly, not to push a button or to sleep in my cockpit ^^

  • Well explained classmate.. Offcourse 737CL is a little bit different then the NG, but still with those switches in overhead panel, where you have the 320 with buttons with lights.

  • Why is he comparing a classic 737 to a A320? Its not fair!! Go compare with a 737NG!

  • @jzair you know, the only thing that would be different in an NG would be the glass cockpit, so I see this comparision fair :)

  • @SirijusS Yes, i agree but what i am trying to say is that the glass cockpit on the 737 does look cleaner and more "advanced" as the A320's.

  • I still like Boeing 737 more :DD
