  • Lol... The wheels don't spin or turn, infact they don't even have suspension, and where's the steering wheel? Shouldn't you have indicators and brakes on this thing?! Looks like you failed big time.

Please note, all sarcasm was intended. There are some morons on Youtube. Good job & a great alternative to the £200+ (I'm British) slider kits that essentially do the same job!

  • Can you message me the material list for this project?

  • @chrishaze1 If you turn up your volume, he tells you in the video :)

  • This is a lovely rig, there is just one little problem.

    The wheels dont spin.

  • wow i like this, thanx,

  • nice !!!

  • @mintweb25 K'nex

  • lol the tires don't spin

  • @wakaphwap There are no tires and it does not need to spin. It's a "slider", not a "spinner".

  • @shouldigetit wheels are made to spin ... Without spinning you won't get a smooth video. the same as to slide camera on the table, so why to build it ?

  • @HSYNLI @HSYNLI WTFLOL?! Spirit levels are made to measure levels. Does that mean they shouldn't be used as camera slider tracks? If you don't have anything constructive to say, shut up. Douchebag.

  • @shouldigetit if they dont need to spin, why did you use wheels lol? Im sure you will get much smoother video if you got them moving.

  • @manufan4eva If they moved, you'd have to make sure they were attached at exactly the same points on opposite sides of the piece of wood, OR you'd have to drill THROUGH the width of the wood to introduce an axle of some sort... It really would entail much more complication. With this example, even if your wheels aren't attached at exactly the same height or angle, all you've got to do is level your camera accordingly on your tripod head which you could attach to this simple setup.

  • @manufan4eva Also, non moving wheels are still circular so will always slide far better than any other shape. If they come to a slight bump, although not ideal, at least they'll just glide over it rather than square edged sliders just digging in and causing the thing to stop and consequently messing up your video & making your entire project worthless.

  • Doesn't really look like the wheels actually turn man? Minor design flaw there...

  • @scottlarockwell they don't need to turn, its a slider, not a turner.

  • @shouldigetit Why not just make the wheel spin around, it would make the slider alot smoother

  • @shouldigetit if the wheels are not supposed to turn.. why use wheels? Just use and L bracket..

  • @shouldigetit it would make it better if the wheels turned but not necessary- one problem if the wheels spun is that it might go off the end if you let go

  • The ad before this video is 1:30.... whoa...

  • @GaragebandandBeyond Please explain.

  • Comment removed

  • @shouldigetit You have "allow instream advertising" selected in your "Advertising Options" They are playing commercials before your video, the one I saw was 1:30 long.

  • @GaragebandandBeyond thats funny. May I ask how you stumbled upon this video?

  • @shouldigetit on a search for a DIY slider project

  • @shouldigetit idk what he is on about coz it says free online games

  • kewl!!

  • cool!!! i was looking to do something like this

  • @franrasore Awesome! Let me know if you make your own.

P.S I am currently tracking my order for my actual camera slider. I'll make a comparison video to see if it is worth the $100+.

  • and if you use anything bigger than a minilense it will tip over :S

  • Not bad buddy! check out my $5 slider video

  • @defnyung Did you try that?

  • im making one!!!

  • @skater4life1000 Sweet. Leave a video response with sample footage?

  • @shouldigetit u mind if a make a tutorial? lol

  • @skater4life1000 That would be great. More tutorials = more ideas for people to see.

  • @shouldigetit alright i made it and it is sooo nice.. thanks dude!

  • @skater4life1000 NP. Mind linking my channel or putting an annotation in your vid?

  • @shouldigetit yea ill put a big annotation!!!!!!!!!!! =)))

  • right, I dislike this just because of the false thumbnail. it's just annoying.

    good idea though.

  • It's great!

  • @opeth84 Did you see the footage?

  • @shouldigetit

Yes. i've seen some youtube video where they tilted the camera on a tripod but only on two legs slowly forward. it made a flying-like effect towards the target they shot. that was great too. and the rubber ribbon to rotate the view. I like these.
