Lots of spinning back hooks in TKD. I wonder why they don't keep their hands up.

I am a karate guy, so I don't know the reason why TKD guys don't keep their guard up and avoid being KO'd by kicks so much.

this is high competition taekwondo, KO don't occure so often, besides this are high tecnic fighters this guys really know taekwondo, they're 1s,t 2nd dan, etc

you shouldn't look at your opponent, you have to whatch behind him/her, because if you look at him/her you don't see the kick.

yeah its alot harder to block a head kick, its easier to just doge it instead unless its a counter kick, then your screwed 9 times out of 10 :P

they are but its in a way discouraged because bones are broken that way. Unless you have really solid arms able to take punishing impacts of a kick, you would be better off doing dodging or counters.
