My first bike was an 86 Rebel .. got it for 450 from a good friend of mine who had just upgraded to a Yamaha 750 Maxim .. now thats a fast ass bike !!!! My Rebel was kinda quick but really smooth .. i loved that bike im looking for another right now i have a 600 CBR
1. i beleive its a 250, cause who in the world would say they have a 250 instead of a 500 ahah, maybe the other way around 2. you can wheelie a 250 no problem, just drop the clutch at 10 grand and stand on the passenger pegs. 3. uhhh, i forgot whta comment i was argue here, but serously you guys are fighting on youtube ahah, 4. get some gear, once you burn, you learn......yea i just made that up by myself. pretty slick huh? ahah.
Cruiser motorcycles are not made for doing wheelies, dirt bikes and sport bikes are but I like cruisers with the old school Harley Style, love honda rebels the poor mans Harley
@Simbaah777 Doing this kind of idiot shit with fuck up your front forks. I know, I inherited one from a previous owner that was seized shut in the compressed position. No amount of pushing or pulling or JB Blaster would unseize it. The front forks are wonderfully designed self maintainable shocks, piece of cake to take apart & put back together, but people fuck them up with all kinds of stupid shit. BTW, I wouldn't trade my rebel for any shoddy piece of Harley junk any day.

When a bike costs less than my dirt bike, I'll lift the front end all day. I don't need asinine advice from People who think they know things about motorcycle forks. If the forks seized on this bike, i would buy another one. You guys are wasting your time.
@gillistheman I know plenty about the rebel, I've taken mine completly apart and put her back together again, taking off all the rust in the process and repainting her. She's a 1985, 25 years old, and if I have my way she'll last another 100. That my sister bought it shotout for $200 from a crackhead, and I bought it from my sister for $500, is irrelevant. You take care of what you have, and make it even better. Or you fuck it up, and then have it no more. Your choice.
@cobrachoppergirl Congrats. You've become sentimental about a bike with no resale value. I have nice stuff, but 82 rebels aren't in the same category with those bikes. Regardless, i'm gonna do wheelies. have fun restoring $500 bikes. You must know so much about bikes, having taken one apart and putting it back together again....

@cobrachoppergirl sounds like your bike had a bushing seizure because the seals blew and it lost all it's oil. yeah wheelies blow seals, but so do whoops and jumps on a dirt bike, it's a fucking hour long job to change em out and bam, forks are good again, extremely common procedure for us dirt riders, shit breaks. casing a landing might bend them, but that's a different story. Anything can be rebuilt yourself, just takes time.
You have to stand on the swingarm, rev it basically all the way and then drop the clutch. Try doing a wheelie on a dirtbike first to get used to it...
it sure is not an 82 rebel. the rebel didn't come out till 85, I have an 85 rebel which is the first year they were ever made.
