After Pentecost, the Apostles set up a community and anyone who joined had to sell all their possessions and give the money to charity, two people lied to St Peter and said they had done this, at that second they died immediately. It is in Acts.
Do you think these examples from the Bible are the same as torturing and killing people with cruel means. Let me clarify:
Paul - it was before he was saved. These were acts prior to recieving Jesus as his Saviour. The Vatican, Popes especially, are all supposed to be Christian. As for the window scene - he fell, Paul didn't kill him.
Peter - they lied to GOD, HE took their lives. Peter didn't lay a hand on them, he merely declared what GOD would do.

It could even be stretched to say most Christian matyrs, who have been motivated by these Saints, died to their actinos and words. I have a deep respect and love for both these Saints. How much agreement does someone need with the Pope?

Honestly I don't really care. I'm a christian, not a catholic and there's a difference. Christians aren't a specific religion and our teaching comes specifically from the bible where as most catholics follow tradition. My teaching comes strictly from the bible, not what a preacher says. That is, unless his teaching does come straight from the bible. religion was invented by people, not from the Lord and only happened after Jesus came in the flesh. What about before then? There lies the question.
@dpn48312 The bible is the word of the Lord written down so that others may be able to read and learn from it. Many separate religions choose what they want to take from the bible and what they want to leave out. Plus, the perpous never truly was to divide the body of Christ by arguing which way is better but by coming together for the common perpous of serving Jesus. Serarate religions and chewing each other out while still claiming to serve the Lord is what I mean by tradition.

Of all the New Testament era texts that were written, the only ones that made it into the Bible were the ones judged to be consistent with the tradition. The Bible is born and rooted in tradition and is shaped by it. So if you cherish the Bible, you can thank tradition. Your Bible *IS* tradition written down. In addition, your earlier statement seems to say that Catholics are not Christians. That is not be true either.

Also, if yo read the bible often enough one can realize that bible is full of nothing but breaking tradition. @dpn48312 Most people traditionally look at going to church like a chore that you have to do in order to go to heaven when in actuality it should be about coming to praise and worship the Lord. Most holy ghost churches should be holy ghost filled with people speaking in tongues and the obvious feeling of the Lord being present but many churches these days seem to be dying out because people are tired of the same old routine.

We have ourselves pentecostal but we don't label ourselves as a religion but simply as a church of the Lord. It is true that protestants pushed to abolish slavery, but so did catholics. It is a sad sad fact that it was these same protestants who pushed for Jim Crowe laws, and fought the civil rights movement with fierce aggression. After Pentecost, the Apostles set up a community and anyone who joined had to sell all their possessions and give the money to charity, two people lied to St Peter and said they had done this, at that second they died immediately. It is in Acts.

Paul - it was before he was saved. These were acts prior to recieving Jesus as his Saviour. The Vatican, Popes especially, are all supposed to be Christian. As for the window scene - he fell, Paul didn't kill him.
Peter - they lied to GOD, HE took their lives. Peter didn't lay a hand on them, he merely declared what GOD would do.

Is it someone who agrees with the church but never goes, is someone who goes only to see family make Sacraments and Easter, is it anyone who has been baptized(techinally a soul binding agreement until doomsday.), or is it people that go every week and Holidays of Obligation. How much agreement does someone need with the Pope?

Honestly I don't really care. I'm a christian, not a catholic and there's a difference. Christians aren't a specific religion and our teaching comes specifically from the bible where as most catholics follow tradition. My teaching comes strictly from the bible, not what a preacher says. That is, unless his teaching does come straight from the bible. religion was invented by people, not from the Lord and only happened after Jesus came in the flesh. What about before then? There lies the question.

Many separate religions choose what they want to take from the bible and what they want to leave out. Plus, the perpous never truly was to divide the body of Christ by arguing which way is better but by coming together for the common perpous of serving Jesus. Serarate religions and chewing each other out while still claiming to serve the Lord is what I mean by tradition.

Of all the New Testament era texts that were written, the only ones that made it into the Bible were the ones judged to be consistent with the tradition. The Bible is born and rooted in tradition and is shaped by it. So if you cherish the Bible, you can thank tradition. Your Bible *IS* tradition written down. @dpn48312 Most people traditionally look at going to church like a chore that you have to do in order to go to heaven when in actuality it should be about coming to praise and worship the Lord. Most holy ghost churches should be holy ghost filled with people speaking in tongues and the obvious feeling of the Lord being present but many churches these days seem to be dying out because people are tired of the same old routine.

We have ourselves pentecostal but we don't label ourselves as a religion but simply as a church of the Lord. It is true that protestants pushed to abolish slavery, but so did catholics. It is a sad sad fact that it was these same protestants who pushed for Jim Crowe laws, and fought the civil rights movement with fierce aggression. When an overreaching gov't can create dissatisfaction by tying the hands of the private sector and then say, "See? Capitalism is bad" then people feel the need for the gov't to step in to help. Several Catholic leaders spoke against slavery as early as the 15th century and certain Spanish clerics condemned it in the 16th century. England and the Netherlands on the other hand supported slavery.
By the way, regarding colonies, even when Britain "officially" outlawed slavery in 1833, the actual practice of slavery in the British colonies did not end until the early 20th century.

There's a tool you can use to answer all of those questions, the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You can look up anything in it. for example: paragraph 2414:
St. Paul directed a Christian master to treat his Christian slave "no longer as a slave but more than a slave, as a beloved brother.
The reason why people would abuse slaves or kill people is that they were ignorant or even apathetic of the teaching of the Church! The Church teaching has never changed and remains unchangeable.

It is not the Popes alone who who have condemned socialism, but the teaching authority of the Church- the Magisterium- has condemed it. Try reading the Catechism some time.
It seems that you are little more than a protestant who picks and chooses teachings he wishes to follow, masquerading as a faithful Catholic.

As a catholic subjected to bigoted verbal and physical abuse by protestants I am deeply insulted by your comments. I practise what the catholic church teaches I do not pick and choose. Socialism is the best system for poorer, and therefore the majority, of men. If catholicism and socialism can not work together then why is the largest socialist movement in South America where there is the largest catholic population.

@SocialistCatholic Physical abuse by protestants? really? South America does not have the 'largest Catholic population" by the way...traditionally yes....most are nominal catholics at best.
Brazil's Catholic population has dwindled considerably .......most adhere to other types of spirituality and the Pentecostal churches have done quite a lot to win many converts.

@SocialistCatholic Jesus never endorsed any political stance. He just wanted us to take care of the poor and less fortunate. Socialism does this
