Great, so now their coffee will cost even more, which means people will buy less, they will go bankrupt, and then they won't buy ANY coffee from Ethiopia and the farmers will be even poorer than before.

This is faulty logic. If we make ethical consumers aware of facts about the

farmers in the Horn of Africa,who for example do all the work and get 10% of

the profit, folks will buy MORE of their prized blend if Starbucks would only certify

the brew they sell as FAIR TRADE and mean it. As in pay them more for their

diligent work.
