  • what an intro!

  • I hate guitar solos, but I love the ones in this song!!!

Just goes to show, how it's not about how many notes you play or how fast you play them, but how much feeling you put into the ones that play.

  • It does not matter how many times I hear it, River's intro still sounds amazing every time.

  • is that josh freese on rythm guitar?

  • he's staring to give up lead for "mobility and freedom" on stage. I like how some sort of guitar solo was incorporate in alot of weezer's songs they're starting to drift from that now.

  • Haha I love how Rivers has to be the lead in everything.

  • this song has the best opening ever

  • poor drummer all left out in that glass box :P

  • Haha, yeah. I know they do it for the acoustics, but I always feel bad for the drummer. xP

  • sumn sound off??

  • i liked the old version better. the chorus in this one just doesnt sound right

  • I love this song...So mUCh..!!..

  • Is Brian on piano?

  • si senor

  • I dont suppose anyone knows what kind of wah pedal he uses?

Thats the sound i want, cant find it in any other pedal.

  • On pinkerton he used a NY big muff. But any big muff works. Also you cant get the exact sound without an sg. I have LP but its not the same but damn close.

  • Cool, thanks alot

  • look it up on google.

  • wonder wat type of wah peddle he uses on the solos..

  • They changed it after they released the album... they just decided that this version was better

  • why did they changed the chorus? it is still great, but it was better before

  • i didn't notice how did they change it?

  • Where is Elisha Cuthbert, damn she is so sexy.

  • Whos that dude playing gutair

  • Your mum?

  • o yea thats right

  • Slash

  • Weez!

  • LOL hes on the piano [x

  • he's playing the piano

  • Now he's look a bit like Noel Gallagher.

    physically!

  • Lol loving cuomo's sweater there xD

  • the glass surrounding the drummer is not to reach the beer bottle hurled by drunks?

  • when you're weezer, you don't even need use words in the chorus to make it a great song.

  • seeing weezer and blink in camden on the 27th !!!!

    anyone else?

  • i widh i could go... they are literaly both my favorite bands

(of course, though, weezer is way batter than blink)

  • seattle. thats gonna be friggin awesome!!!

  • im seein them the 24th in holmdel lol

  • man that's gonna be great. wish i could as well.

  • He doesnt look like Buddy Holly right now. lol Great live performance, Weezer is great.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha they put pat in a box! ahhahahaha i understand the purpose, but thats fuckin funny

  • eh...it's ok. I like the first one better though...

  • This makes me think of Elisha Cuthbert! HOTTIE!!! One of my favs from Weezer.

  • u know when u gotta close ur eyes when u stick a q tip in ur ear cause it feels so good, thats what i get from this song

  • its a kickass song..

but I like how he sings the chorus the other way better..

    does anyone agree?

  • agreed

  • i 1000% AGREE!!!

  • i dont undertand why this band is gonna tour with blink 182

  • because blink needs an example of how to play live, with all my respect to blink

  • i like it when they play it faster than the acttual song and maybe make some mistakes but they have a lot of energy live and i like that more then when they just stand there and play every note right

  • blink plays fine live

  • cause they both kick ass

  • HELL FUKN YEAH!! LOVE THE BOTH!!

  • Dude, i love that man he is amazing

  • Check out that bitchin' Diezel in the corner!

  • 1:55-1:56?

  • maybe he got shocked. it's been known to happen on stage. lol happened to ME. sucks.

  • I think he pinched his hand, or got shocked.

  • Best song from Make Believe and pretty much the only one i could constantly listen to as much as i do with Blue and Pinkerton. Hope the new album has more songs like this and stuff that's more like old weezer

    =w=

  • Definitely best on Make Believe, but I can consistently listen to Peace as much as I do Surf Wax America, Holiday, Across the Sea and OiD! Maybe not THAT much, but I definitely rank Peace as #2 on MB.

  • yeah peace is pretty good too

  • oh come on what about hold on. i got into that.

pinkerton is da best for mee.

  • you mean hold me? i forgot about that one. its alright but still nowhere near pinkerton good whereas perfect situation is kinda nearing it. like a poppyer version of it.

  • yes hold me that's the one

of course nothing is nearly as good as pinkerton!

  • Was that Scott talking at the beginning of the video?

  • officaly my favorite song rite now

    :) :] :D

  • great song!!

    weezer rocks!!

    =W=

  • this is a similar version to the first released version rite

  • this is the 'full' version.. the one wit a music video is the same thing, just cut down a lil..

  • acutally it was cut down alot. the original has a really good 50 second intro and the "oh ohs" are diffrenet. rivers mutilated the song. hes a psycho!

  • He's the coolest psycho, cooler then you'll ever be.

  • i actually like this song

  • one of my favorite songs of all time i love the distorted solo weerez rocks

    =W=

  • Wah makes everything sound better lol. It even makes me sound good.

  • They've always seemed to me like 6th or 7th graders with Wonder Twin rock powers. Always had "2d album just came out" feel about them. This video with Brian at the piano, an extra performer, and alternate rendition by Cuomo makes me think I'm watchin' the mid-years of a career like Simon & Garfunkel's. Long and productive and garnering more fans all the way. In short makes me think they've arrived. Madd love up on the Weerez. Long Live Scott!! Rocks it on lyric-Stay in the band please!! LOL

  • i love how weezer tried sumtin different with all their songs in aol sessions i think it's great and people should stop bitching cause their is no need to lay the same song the same way every all the time fo years straight it's good to mix things up a bit.

  • I agree dude. It just makes them a better band. It shows their creativity and love for music. I really get annoyed by bands who are given more credit for their music when it is all the same. Weezer is never matched up against them for some reason, and it's ridiculous (i.e. Green Day).

  • I'm sure Rivers would disagree with you on that Green Day statement. He studied bands like Green Day to better his own music. Green Day is a great band and has many diverse songs and sounds.

  • I'm not saying that I don't like Green Day, but their music is not diverse. The only changes they made were on American Idiot which is the stupidest "pop" album of all time. They did that for money and fame. And if you disagree, then you obviously don't have enough knowledge about Green Day and are only into all that new crap.

  • For example, go listen to their album Nimrod all the way through. You will think it is the same song.

  • tru that, man. Green day is fairly the same thing alll the way through.

  • i love this song...it's most likely my favorite weezer song

  • holy fuck, i have this gibson sg guitar. im not a big fan of this band, but im glad to see that pros use my guitar other than angus young. i like his intro solo though.

  • a lot of pros use an sg. theyre the best

  • I don't know about best, but they are definitely great guitars. Most of my favorite guitarists use them. Angus Young, Rivers among hundreds of others.

  • I do. I like the confiscate part, sounded like something old rivers would say

  • does anyone on here have one of the first copies of this CD, which includes the other version of the "oohs" on this song and the bridge of "we are all on drugs" as "i want to confiscate your drugs" instead of "i want to reach a higher plain"? my point is, i like the other version of this song on the CD I have.

  • i agree 100%. This version sucks compared to the other

  • well, I wouldn't say sucks really, but it's not my favorite. To be honest, I think the ONLY Weezer song I really hate is "Pig"

  • I have the original CD

  • I have it too I prefer the original version of we are all on drugs

  • aaah the way this song is meant to be played! wah pedal for the intro guitar riffs and wah pedal on the solo!

  • it's nice to see a great songwriter, that also plays the hell out of a guitar

  • rivers still rockin with that sg.

  • ( this vid makes me so sad. some1 msg me!! xD 8

  • I like the way the "Oh"s were sung in the first release of the album. This version... not so much.

  • same here its sounds a lot better in the first version.

  • same here!

  • not only do i luv weezer this is my favorite song by them

  • whose the other guitarist

  • It could be a number of things:

    1. Their roadie

    2. The owner of AOL

    3. Jesus

    5. A homeless man

    who knows...

  • I like Jesus. :)

  • Yeah. Jesus is my homeboy

  • Jesus Pwns.

  • no, It's a studio musician from aol.

  • no it's their guitar tech, bobby schneck.

  • its bobby scheck(i think thats how you spell it) their guitar teck guy

  • their guitar tech, bobby schneck.

  • Weezer rocks!

  • haha rivers is still rockin that classic cherry SG, after all these years its still rockin hard

  • Weezer= unique sounding. All i got to say. No matter how much people label them

  • i love this version wayyyy better how the chorus goes higher then lower on the cd instead of woahh oh ohh, its like WOAAHHH HOEEE A HOEEE yeee lol much better

  • amazing start

  • is that a diezel head in the background with the weezer w?

  • that double cut-away guitar is so sick

  • i think he sounds better live :P he doesn't seem to strain his voice so much in his concerts so it kicks ass

  • im not really saying anything mean about weezer cuz weezer is my fav band but river's voice sounds better in the recordings

  • Weezer RULES> Shut up you fools

  • =w=

  • there's no genre called geek rock lol.. some ppl dress different.. the members of sum 41 were made fun of in high school.. good charlottes members were outcasts too..

  • Weezer FTW =W= ohh yeah the person that says this is power pop can not be a weezer fan none of their songs are alike tune into more weezer and don't critique a area you don't know

    =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W= =W=

  • Love Weezer. Great live

  • Kickass song. been my favorite band since i was six when i heard buddy holly off the blue album

  • no its make believe

  • this song from make believ

  • uhh buddy..

    im afraid its 100% weezer

  • fucking idiot.

  • no...its on Dark Side of the Moon

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • hahaha

  • make believe ;)

  • i think its make believe

  • whos the other guitarist?

  • good job, lol

he's just some friend of the band i suppose

  • lol why hasn't anyone asked who is playing guitar with them since brian is on piano

  • just love the intro solo

  • This new version of perfect situation is so bad compared to the original found on the first cd pressings

  • what genre are they? grungy rock?

  • Powerpop for the most part.

  • powerpop? are you serious. thats like some hellogoodbye or something... they are more just an alternative/rock band.

  • Yes. Like I said, for the most part. Just because they're miles better than hellogoodbye doesn't change that most of their music is powerpop.

  • El Scorcho is powerpop? Weezer comes up with some of the most unique sounding stuff that I've ever heard. They are alternative simply due to the fact that nobody else sounds anything like them...which is the whole basis of the genre in the first place.

  • Well, not so much that nobody sounds like them, but the sound of the Geek Rock genre is just very small, considering the fact that there's like 5 Geek Rock bands.

  • how do you define geek rock?

  • haha. that is ignorant to say.

you can't judge two bands that have different genres. Weezer is a rock band, hellogoodbye is a powerpop band.

Weezer uses little if any electronic synth and synth is like 75% of hellogoodbye's music.

Get your facts straight b4 u try telling people what genre a band is when u don't know shit about it.

  • geek rock.

  • I love that Pat gets segregated into another room.

  • Most recording in studios put the drummer in a seperate room with head phones. It gives the drums (the most important part of the rythym) the cleanest sound

  • 4:17 j. Lennon on piano

  • Weezer is so awesome without all of the extra stuff that they add on their major records. If you get a chance to listen to the demo of Maladroit, you may agree that it seriously trumps the actual release of the album. And I'm not trying to make any die hard fans upset, I'm just stating my opinion.

  • well backshot32...dave grohl was in nirvana and i know im gonna piss people off when i say this...but hes the only one with talent to come outta nirvana (dave Grohl started the foo fighters) and Weezer is better than both bands just because they are an overall more talented band...and if doubt me.. take this into account...all of nirvanas songs sounded the same..amnd the foo fighters have like 5 good songs as compared to weezers 5 great Albums

  • Yeah, i like nirvana, foo fighters, and weezer, all i know is that they made music i liked. I don't really know what happened to the bands...or how they're even connected(don't blame me cause i don't know, im young!) but damn, did all those bands make good music.

  • wow. that dude is a douchebag. haha. i dont really like nirvana but still u dont see me being a douche. foo fighters are cool. if u dont like someone man just dont say shit cause they person that likes them doesnt want to hear your shit. true story. u wouldnt want ppl talking shit bout bands u like. keep your negative comments to yourself......douche

  • lol rivers is dressed like he just got back from church and this version is much better than the 2nd (and now that ive heard this version) watered down version

  • dude for reals i am not a fan of Niravana nor Foo Fighters but for reals learn to appreciate music.

  • rivers is a shitty underated pioneer in a shitty underated band^^ gotta love him :)

  • thanks to this song... it made my highschool complete and unforgetable... we played this for a talent show... this is my last year in HS!!! weezer rocks!!!

  • This is dedicated to my baby Emily. <333

  • ahhh brian bell is hot. and he plays the piano! =D

  • i second that =]

  • im a musician

  • Dave Grohl and Rivers are both great artists. They both have their different styles, and each write their fair share of hits. I prefer Weezer over the Foo Fighters, but i still really like the Foo Fighters and Nirvana

  • For the chorus, it sounds like he yells "mofo...mofooooo" Is that what he says? lol I hope not!

  • LOL no, i think he's saying "oh ho". hahah

  • hahahahahahahahahaha. NICE

  • why are we comparing dave grohl and rivers?who cares they are both such amazing artists, each writing a countless amount of amazing songs

  • in my opinion, grohl should have sticked to drums...

  • I'm happy Rivers never really "grew up" in that sense. Weezer's always been great.

  • lol hes in his 40s. 25+ indeed.

  • Not even 40 yet.

  • easy now guys dave grohl and rivers are both pretty sick there just a little different dont compare em
