@waynerjson Hey Wayne, now you're in big trouble.....lol. I have to say, I love the GE series, they are incredible guitars, but the Authentics are on another level all together. On the other hand, while I love have the Authentics, I'm still keeping my D-18GE, it has a very special voice too. I go with the idea that one can never have too many D-18's....
@jmstern22 Just got a 1949 D18 today!!!!!!! It is dry as a bone and projects like a cannon. It's hard to believe that it is straight braced and not scalloped. I may get it scalloped or might leave it as is. Life is good.
@waynerjson How fun. Enjoy it. My only advice is, if you like the sound now, don't mess with it. In my experience modifications never quite work the way you'd think...Have fun with it, it sounds like a great guitar.
@jmstern22 Good advice. Do a YouTube search on Dan Lashbrook....he modified my GE D-18. He is like a mad scientist when it comes to the quest of more guitar sound. If you're anywhere near NC, I highly recommend him. He is reasonable and honest.
@waynerjson Sorry to take so long replying. I've heard of Dan, it seems like folks either lover him or hate him. There doesn't seem to be much in between....lol. I think there's always a bit of crazy mixed in with genius...
Thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to listen. I didn't use tabs on that song, but it's in a number of song books and the old magazine Guitar World Acoustic had a very well done version in it. This is my semi-close version, so it is not exactly like the original (but it's still really fun to play...lol). Thanks again for listening.
Thanks so much for the kind words, taking the time to listen and subscribing to my videos. I have been enjoying your music as well. Sorry I'm running so late returning comments, but it is a very busy season. Thanks again.
Hey LPF, thanks for the kind words and taking the time to listen. I am really enjoying that guitar, it is a pretty cool. Very cool that you all are listening from Hungary. Pretty amazing. I'll have some new videos up in the next couple weeks.
Hey Steve, thanks for taking a listen and leaving a comment. I would agree with Stan Jay, and I would take it a step father and add that it does a whole bunch of other stuff, not just bluegrass. I use mine for flatpicking, strumming and fingerstyle stuff. They are pretty cool guitars.
I hate to say it, but it is hard to beat a good D-18. If you want a guitar that can do it all, the D-18 is the way to go. Congrats on your '73. I can't say enough good things about the D-18's. Thanks for the comment and taking the time to listen.
Thanks so much for the kind words and taking the time to listen and comment. I'm really glad you enjoyed the tunes. I have a couple other Beatles' tunes that I use, I'll try and get those posted in the near future. Thanks again.
Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment, I really appreciate that. This is one tune I just really enjoy playing. I would agree that goofy D-18A is pretty hard to beat.

Stan Jay at Mandolin brothers told me The 1937 D-18 Authentic was the "BEST BLUEGRASS GUITAR HE HAD IN THE STORE"...
