This is not my video and I don't know if the vidder is gonna reply but most people get clips by downloading the movies in the form of a torrent. There is also a free software such as Youtube Downloader which lets you download movie /tv clips and so forth from youtube.

Sony Vegas is very expensive. Like 600 USD. Their official website lets you have a trial version (which has no limitations) for like a month I think. And if you're new to Vegas, don't expect just to jump right into vidding.
