When I played World of Warcraft, I played on an Australian server. I am Asian myself, and I hit battlegroup number one with my Aussie teammate who live in Mackay. I was aware of the racism in Australia, and I was a bit timid to bring it up. Then when I added him on facebook we became friends. You can look at the chances this way 1/10 aussies who declare themselves as racist is like the 1/12 americans who declare to be gay, the chances is decent but still minority.
....And they were all from one state, not from all over the country. Even if they all said they were "racist" it would still be less than 0.025% of the population.
Secondly, not being happy about a family member marrying a different race doesn't make someone racist and really, nor does most name calling. If that's the criteria used to determin what constitutes racism, then almost everyone is or has been racist at some stage. You can make statistics paint whatever picture you want.
I simply do not give much credibility to a survey of sampling so few people and carried out for purely for political motives. Assuming you're at school or Uni, if your teachers sampled only 0.022% of the pupils, asking whether they liked ice cream or not, would that really be representative of the entire school?
BTW, an accurate measure of racism is totally impossible to establish because the criteria and interpretation of what racism actually is, is so fluid and variable.

It is not uncommon for it to be pronounced "A" "Men" in the United States rather than "Arr" "Men."
The colloquial phrase "Amen to that" is simply means, "yes I agree." This is more common in the US than the UK but is used in both countries!......

When I played World of Warcraft, I played on an Australian server. I am Asian myself, and I hit battlegroup number one with my Aussie teammate who live in Mackay. I was aware of the racism in Australia, and I was a bit timid to bring it up. Then when I added him on facebook we became friends. You can look at the chances this way 1/10 aussies who declare themselves as racist is like the 1/12 americans who declare to be gay, the chances is decent but still minority.

Firstly, the video never said that. Their statement was "one in ten Australians are white racial supremacists" which itself is a ridiculous statement.
Dunn's survey only sampled 5000 people. That's less than 0.025% of the population, a tiny number on which to draw such definitive conclusions.....!

Secondly, not being happy about a family member marrying a different race doesn't make someone racist and really, nor does most name calling. If that's the criteria used to determin what constitutes racism, then almost everyone is or has been racist at some stage. You can make statistics paint whatever picture you want.

I simply do not give much credibility to a survey of sampling so few people and carried out for purely for political motives. Assuming you're at school or Uni, if your teachers sampled only 0.022% of the pupils, asking whether they liked ice cream or not, would that really be representative of the entire school?
BTW, an accurate measure of racism is totally impossible to establish because the criteria and interpretation of what racism actually is, is so fluid and variable.

It's exactly the same ratio as sampling only 5 people in 22,000, or only 2 people in 10,000. Two people in ten thouand will not tell you anything at all, and it is the same sample rate (approx 0.022%). So I maintain, that 5,000 is an insignificant number.

Of course 0.022% is the same for a continent, or whatever you're sampling! It's still a ridiculously small percentage of the total on which to base conclusive data. It dismisses the remaining 99.8% as completely unimportant and assumes a huge relative exponential increment. Therefore, on that basis alone the data is overwhelmingly unreliable.
I'm astounded that with your apparent qualifications, you appear happy to just accept the survey and disregard any dissenting view.

You're right, Amen is used all over the world in by many different language speakers, with different inflections and accents. It is not uncommon for it to be pronounced "A" "Men" in the United States rather than "Arr" "Men."
The colloquial phrase "Amen to that" is simply means, "yes I agree." This is more common in the US than the UK but is used in both countries!......

People need to be re-educated that Australia originally belonged to the Aborigines, the U.S. & Canada to the Native Americans, Inuit/Yupik people. The Incas/Aztecs were nearly wiped out by the Conquistadors.
