In my comment I meant that I think he overdid it in some places where he could easily maintain a softer line. However, he is the author of the song and then he decides what to do but I as a listener I am allowed to give my opinion.

@Gavaloth Sounds like it was the perfect time to me. He could've kept it soft, but then the song would've bordered on boring. The arpeggios are needed. The song wouldn't be the same without them. If it would, the logical thing to do then would be to go ahead and cut that part out and not have to exert yourself unnecessarily if it's not gonna have a noticeable effect on the song as a whole.
