Wow, you guy's still think this is by The Eagles? It was made popular because of them, but not made by. It was made by Steve Young. Sorry to bust anyone's bubble,
( the Eagles are still an amazing band) but if you think that, You are wrong. But don't let me put you down, enjoy the song for what it is.
This is my parents song. :) On November 26, 2012 they will have been together 17 years. They may argue sometimes but they're the best parents ever, they are who got me listening to Eagles, Pink Floyd, Guns N Roses, & alllll that goood stufff that I dont feel like typing. Plus, I ain't gonna lie they raised a pretttty great kid (; hehe. I love you Dino & Dorla Martin. <3
just a note, most of the bridges in the video portion of this (which I don't object to) are from Madison County, IA, of the eponymous Clint Eastwood/Meryl Streep film. Not in Alabama along Woodley Rd. in Montgomery, AL. But still a great song, can't get it out of my head. Thanks.
I am a musician, this is a great piece of music. I hate Classic Rock: The Eagles, Skynard, Zepplin, Stones and even The Beatles (my fave) are overplayed- same songs all the time. It's bullshit. If classic rock stations played stuff like this and not Take It Easy for the 2,986th time, I'd listen. I'll listen to my iPod with VARIETY; Jazz, Blues, Rock N' Roll, Counrty, Classical, Old Pop (new pop is 99% crap) save Adele who is awesome.
@tmacart I heard this song on my city's classic rock station lol. It's impossible to say classic rock is bad because it's all the best/popular songs from a past era. Millions of people liked these songs, all the crap that people didn't like got lost like dust in the wind =)
I have never heard a bad song from the Eagle's. The are one a kind band. But Seven Bridges Road is awesome. This song was a warm up song before going on stage. Someone heard them practicing this song in their dressing room and asked them just to try it on stage to see how the audience would react. It became one of there top songs. If you don't like this song you have no ear for good music.
Thank heavens for music like this... Wish it would come back nowadays it's mostly garbage not music. I'm only 26 but prefer this kinda music, guess it was my upbringing from small town Tn. Eagles bring back great childhood memories for me with my pop. Gonna make sure my children enjoy this music as much as I do!
The warmup of what The Eagles do before each concert pays off, they are the Kings of Unison.....they call it Hell Road or somethings like that, making sure they are in pitch & can do their harmony without guitars or drums. What Masters of Sound they are, altho I preferred their harmony tone with Randy Meisner; his high pitch really gave their sound that "little difference" that set them apart from anyone else. They are still my favs, up there with The Beatles & the Allman Brothers Band.
This song always takes me home to the coalfields of Southwest Virginia...and my beautiful and sassy first girlfriend with that mountain drawl I so miss. Sigh.
The sign at the end of the video is I think from The Seven Bridges Road, a four mile section of Skyline Parkway at the east end of Duluth, Minn, where the Parkway follows Amity Cr from the top of the bluffs to Lake Superior. This 400 ft drop is a long cascade of waterfalls. The Seven Bridges Road is open to vehicles and pedestrians. It sees ~150 cars per day. The best access point is from Superior Street by turning to the north just west of the Lester River. Cool video and great song!
I've made 6 of the 7 bridges. Love to recross them in my memory, and look forward to the 7th. With the Eagles singing this song for each bridge, it couldn't give a better memory.
We grew up in a good time with good music. I feel for kids today, there's good stuff out there, but it's rare. We just had to turn on the radio and this kind of music was playing.
