Hi hi! Have you heard about - fast abs magic (do a google search)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my cousin got amazing Six pack abs and lost a lot of weight with it.
The comments cdavidlake2 made about calorie deficit aren't true and I'm living proof. I was a raw vegan for over a year and still gained weight. I was eating less than 1000 calories a day of fruits, nuts and vegetables. I'm low carb now and, when I last checked, I was eating about 2000 calories a day and I've lost 75 pounds. Sure... I suppose if I increased my consumption to 4000 calories, I might gain weight. But my low carb lifestyle offers enough satisfaction to easily avoid overeating.
Cool, I've got the same Avocado oil that you do- rarely do I see the same stuff here that you have. Also keep the Sauerkraut in the fridge after you open it or it will spoil quickly. I do prefer it cold, fridge cold.
It's all about the calories, Jimmy. Eat too much of 'whole, real foods' and you still won't lose weight. You stated on your blog that don't believe eating beyond satiety is the problem. Well, it's exactly the problem. 'Low carb paleo' is no better than 'low fat vegan' if you don't create a calorie deficit. If you doubt this to be true, start posting your weights again and prove us wrong.
A little confusion on my part, so I hope someone can help me out. I'm familiar with low carb. Been doing it off and on for years but steady for two years now, since I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. (Being stubborn I have refused all meds and my BG is great except for fasting.) Paleo is a mystery to me. Does it only differ from LC in that there's no dairy, or are there other limitations? And if anyone should happen to know, does Pemmican and trailmix/granola fall under Paleo? Thanks! :)
@Bunkysmom65 Read Robb Wolf's THE PALEO SOLUTION book to learn more about Paleo. Dairy is one difference and food quality is as well...choosing game meats, grassfed, organic and pastured foods as much as possible. No artificial stuff like trail mix and granola. Check it out!
@livinlowcarbman Whoa, not even if you made the trail mix yourself? :( I guess nuts alone are still the best option. I will check out Robb Wolf's book. Thanks!
Yeah!! I made the decision last Saturday to go paleo with my low carb diet after much investigation. Yes, think paleo diet can be done within the parameters of atkins. As a child our sauerkraut was always cold. LOL
This version of Paleo I'm doing is still within the parameters of an Atkins low-carb diet. The food quality is just much better. The is the direction Dr. Atkins would gave taken his diet if he were still around today.
The food looks amazing! I would like to try some of the tropical traditions meat. Is it really good and cost effective. I love there coconut flour. ~ Laura ; )
Looks like you're set! Awesome. I loved raw sauerkraut from the beginning but it takes people some time to get used to. I recommend some jicama to feed the critters in the sauerkraut if you can get it. Pretty low carb, lots of fermentable fiber, and it tastes great.
@livinlowcarbman Did you change your fat ratio or is it the same as before? I've been eating so many carbs lately (bad ones that will go unnamed) that I probably need to do something like you are doing to thwart my body to something healthier!
@livinlowcarbman I don't understand the use of Ghee in the Paleo diet. Isn't that clarified butter? That would make Ghee at least one step more processed than butter--which is also processed. Same goes for bacon, pickles, and sauerkraut--all processed foods. I'm trying to go more Paloe--but I obviously need to read more about it. =)
@whites15 - please think of paleo as a framework, not a cage. Just aim for minimally mutated foods, and for oils made from naturally oily things rather than industrial processing (just how oily is corn?) If your food has a label, read it. if you don't recognize the ingredient as food, think twice before consuming. For example: ghee is clarified butter, which is just mashed and cooked milk fat, so we are still talking about one ingredient. It is not the process but the additives to worry about.

A bit condescending to Christine, if you ask me.

No, ice cubes are not 'paleo'.

Ghee is the fat that is left after the butter has been clarified. That's how it avoids being dairy.

Paleo cuts out dairy and focuses on the best quality of real food you can find.

I love Christine. So natural and laid back! :-) Doesn't want her fish oil cold. Who can blame her? :-)

My mouth is watering. Another big plus with going low carb Paleo is that you don't have much clutter in the kitchen with all that processed food.
