Nicely done. I was just watching videos of the Genesis cover band " The Musical Box ". Very interesting to see the differences. This band is smoking. I'd say every piece of Revelation is technically better. This drummer is hot, remember who he's trying to cover. They're all fantastic. The only other difference and it's a big one is the Musical Box's lead singer sounds a lot more like Gabriel. They're both good. I prefer the musician's accuracy here.

Well, Genesis had to remove the solo from concerts because Banks couldn't play it right... so a few mistakes are surely allowable :)

Where have you read/heard this? I find it hard to believe that Banks couldn't play it right technically.

All Wikipedia says is that the intro was later cut because at the time he didn't have the right piano to "do it justice" on stage.

Maybe the same: AFAIK Banks played the solo live on the Selling England tour using a pianet, and didn't play it after. I recall reading in an old mag that he couldn't get the sound right, which I thought meant the complexity: I suppose it could refer to sound quality, I don't think anything else got dropped for that reason - however it makes sense as I've never heard him fluff notes...

Wasn't another lead-in dropped as it was too complex to do reliably live - I can't recall which?

I fully agree here. Musically these guys are really good, especially the guitarist. That solo section in the middle was pretty much flawless !!! The keyboard player is no slouch either, he did make a few very minor mistakes but it didn't detract from the overall song at all. Nice work guys!!! BRAVO !!!

This is damn good stuff. The keyboardist must've been nervous playing this famous intro so you can forgive the odd mistake!

The singer is a bit shit though, and plays the flute like he sings - with no finesse. Top marks to the rest of the band though!
