  • Ayreon Are Perfect!!!In This Song Should Be Jame LaBrie,Jorn Lande,Stu Block,Roy Khan,Daniel Gildenlöw,Tobbias Sammet!!!KINDS OF METAL AND KINDS OF ROCK MUSICS FOREVERMORE!!!

  • What I hate about some songs from this album is how some good songs have terrible parts(e.g. Rage in this song and solo in day 16: Loser). But other than that, it's awesome.

  • @Bradatimrkonja I think rage in this song and in loser adds to the song. It brings out the desperation and emotions that are part of the song. especially in loser.

  • @TheKrijgsvrouwe Rage is great in Loser, but the instrumental solo is just random. However, Rage in this song isn't all that great(wth is memory sth alpha??).

  • @Bradatimrkonja i think you mean: Motion personified alpha (the part that sounds like strawberry fileds forever?) It5 has soemthign to do with REM sleep if i remeber correctly. its the little movements you make becuase you dream.

  • @Bradatimrkonja Are you kidding? Devin Townsend (Rage) is completely spectacular here and really adds to the song.

  • at 3.50, i wasn't really payying attention [don't kill me, it's lovely music i know]] and i was like JETHRO TULL WTF

  • He is part of the worlds most overrated metal band as well.

  • This song is about a cat that fell out of a window.

  • Perfect Just Perfect!!Ayreon Forever!!!

  • [Me] I can't believe this is the end

    [Agony] It's written in stone

    [Me] Where are my friends?

[Agony] You have always been alone! <3

  • This is literally the greatest thing I have ever heard

  • It sounds like the James Bond theme tune in the background.

  • @helloweenVironmaiden Well... nearly :)

  • Edu sent me here

  • 4:18 - Favorite song part ever...

  • which tracks include mikael?

  • @TheAngryAumist I asked the same question when I first came here. Sadly however, I cannot remember. Just go through the album, I believe he is fear?

  • @TheAngryAumist Michael is in the song Day six: Childhood

  • @spikethesilent oh and day eight: school, day twelve: trauma, day fifteen: betrayal and finnaly on day twenty: Confrontation :D

  • This is so addictive it should be banned! EPICGASMIC!

  • the fact that the entire thing was a dream sequencer program is kinda loosely connected to the whole Ayreon universe... But it doesn't really matter. Awesome storyline as a separate album anyway!

  • @ProgressiveForest kill Heidewitzcar. and fo gate 99,78 for isis and kiri. pee sir Prized.

Loo cypher. old pun by Jesus when he was still Kiran. Kiri is short for that. same soul and same name.

  • as soon as this song starts i feel a new wave of energy flow through my body.

  • For my buddy Kevins engagement..............in my opinion the best concept album ever made!!!check in too them you will be glad you did!!

  • <-------Speechless

  • Being deeply touched with the lyrics, Devin made me fucking stand up instead of weeping like a baby.

  • a track with James LaBrie & Devin Townsend... *faints*

  • @ViperRob42 I know. It's a combination that should have happened such a long time ago. They're my favorite vocalists ever and they're finally in a song together/

  • @ViperRob42 Get rid of LaBrie and we'll talk.

  • @ImperiumDarkness Hay Man DONT INSULT JAME LABRIE OK?

  • @JackBauerSnake Jame LaBrie is terrible. Just terrible.

  • @ImperiumDarkness People have different opinions. Get over it. >_>

  • @ImperiumDarkness Hey Man Listen James LaBrie Is Better Than Devin Townsend Ok?Check My Channel And You Will Understand,I Did Not Say Any Insults To You But I Say To Check My Chennel

  • @JackBauerSnake Why do you capitalize the first letter of every word you write? Makes you look like a doofus. (But I agree that LaBrie isn't a terrible singer; guy's very talented.)

  • @fsbfsbfsbfsbfsbfsb You Are Doofus Becuase You Ask Me This Question!!!Here We Talk About TRUE KINDS OF METAL AND KINDS OF ROCK MUSICS!!OK?!GO TO ANOTHER "Place"To INSULT PEOPLE!!!!

  • @JackBauerSnake It wasn't meant to be taken as a question as much as a request to stop doing it. Noticed how other people don't write like that? It's because it's misuse of the language. And annoying to look at. If you cut it out, maybe people would check out your 'chennel'. On that note, in what way does your channel prove that Labrie is better than Devin Townsend? And, really, "This Guy Is Better Than That Guy" is a terrible way of discussing "TRUE KINDS OF METAL."

  • @fsbfsbfsbfsbfsbfsb Do You Have Problem? Why Do Not Like To Write Like This?I Do Not Insult You But You Are Not Alright My Pal As I Said You Must Search It Much More OK?There Is NO Misuse Of Language OK?!And DO NOT INSULT MY CHANNEL!!!)

  • @JackBauerSnake 1) Nah. 2) Because it looks ridiculous. 3) That's a whole bunch of nonsense. 4) Sure there is, and you're the one carrying said misuse out. 4) Your channel is overweight.

  • @ImperiumDarkness Everyone says this shit and I really don't understand why, undeniable talent. People are just blind.

  • @ViperRob42 I KNOW, RIGHT!?

  • @ViperRob42 I wasn't sure if that voice was from James LaBrie! Thanks! :D

  • LaBrie is fuckin awesome in this song

  • I find it intriguing that Avantasia is foremost in related videos. Another great project, albeit pretty different in tone.

  • RAGEEEEEEEEEE

  • RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • And again Devin Townsend steals the vocal-show :-) Pretty nice singing by mr. LaBrie as well

  • I love this song, it's amazing

  • omg the face on the cover !!! looks like mine serious lol great song

  • Do I hear James LaBrie at 2:05?

  • @riopryczki He is the voice of "Me" for the entire CD

  • @riopryczki That is James LaBrie

  • you fucking dutches dont know devin's godly voice dumb fucks go make wood shoes and die.

  • @edeldoe Dude Lucassen is dutch himself. Moron..

  • @edeldoe You know? You're right, Lucassen, being Dutch himself, totally didn't know about Townsend's godly voice and thus, didn't ask him to sing for his album or anything, nope. You're a fucking idiot.

  • Could anyone tell me who is screaming? Doesn't sound like Akerfeldt, don't know who then.

  • @FranLesPaul It's Devin Townsend, who also does all the harmonies in the chorus. He's pretty amazing

  • I think they are not from this world. Maybe aliens, gods, or others entities...I don't know about it. But I know every time I hear them, I remain mesmerized by their sound! I can't believe there are so many variations in a single track...wordless!

  • now i know what it would sound like, if tool and iced earth had a baby. pretty good stuff, thumbs up!

  • Damn, Just close your eyes when you listen to it and listen word per word what they singing, its making soo much sence...Thats true art :)

  • @1i1luv1pete I like to think they just misclicked

  • Very atmospheric sounding and spacy. I'm really diggin this band.

  • The 14 people that don't like it don't know what true art is. These guys are so much better than anything else out there. And their music is in a way beautiful.

  • Amazing

  • 3:43 the guitare ! This song is very good :). From France ;)

  • this is one of my fave ''metal'' songs *-*

i Like this sooooo much :)

    compliment at Ayreon! :D

  • Growls on a Ayreon Album? Thats new for me

  • @DogMowl Maybe you should listen more to them? :3

  • @DogMowl Not really new for Ayreon, though. I haven't listened to The Final Experiment or Actual Fantasy, but there are a few growls in Into the Electric Castle.

  • Arjen Lucassen and Mikael Akerfeldt are probably the two most genius-like songwriters and musicians out there.

  • So many great voices on Ayreon albums, especially on this one! Devin as Rage, Mikael as Fear, and Labrie as Me and then all the other great singers!

  • High-quality work of Arjen!

  • like all Ayreon songs, theres that note at the change to bring on those familiar goosebumps. Typicall...

  • MOTION PERSONIFIED ALPHA

  • ayreon needs to be more famous now!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • RAGE!

  • Who is doing the screaming parts? Also can someone please tell me more songs where those awesome vocals are used more?

  • @kbjami Devin Townsend I believe.

  • Comment removed

  • @kbjami Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth

  • @kbjami In this song it's Devin Townsend doing the screaming parts, although Mikael Akerfeldt does some death growls in other songs on the album. Devin is portraying the emotion Rage in this story.

  • @kbjami The screaming parts are done by Devin Townsend. You can check out Strapping Young Lad for more of him using that style of vocals.

  • I am 12 and what is this?

  • Friggin' awesome.

  • this song is so f*cking good, just close your eyes and listen, looooooooooove it! proud to be dutch now:D

  • I LOOOOOVE this band, So much, it is true art =) Such a different sound on each song! but it all ties together! =) I love that it tells a story.

  • Devin Townsend, you crazy motherfucker I love you so much

  • Devin Townsend is and always will be my hero, he's fucking amazing.

  • My dad bought me The Universal Migrator the day it was released as he was a huge Dream Theater fan and heard of Ayreon when they were promoting it back then in 1999. I was 7 and since this day I listen to Ayreon, Dream Theater, and all the other amazing bands, thanks to my dad. Now I finished an entire discography of DT, Ayreon, Tool, Opeth and other bands that inspire me. So much thanks to every single one of these great artists.

  • I find it so sad that most people nowadays don't listen to artistic music simply cause it's "Weird".But whatever.

If you like this, though, check out these bands:

    Epica

    After Forever

Diablo Swing Orchestra(weird, yes. Amazing? Definetly)

Unexpect(Picture going to a demon possessed carnival while tripping on LSD and you have a good idea of what this band sounds like)

Pinkly Smooth(I love it, cause it's people playing just to have fun, not even giving a crap about people liking it)

  • You gotta love the raw emotional power of especially the Townsend parts! IMO he delivers some of the best performances on the record!

  • perfect song......!!!!!!!

  • Such a powerful song.

  • @TheShanJacob another powerful song is day ten: Memories

  • Devin Townsend is the higher scream as Rage. Mikael Akerfeldt is doing the death growls as Fear.

  • Yes it´s Devin. He is singing the feeling Rage. Of Course. What else ;D

  • Lol @Hataikiru grt youTube downloader and download this song... :) and get Virtual Dj or saom program to record only song ...

  • It's Devin Townsend, the guy who screams...

  • I have all his music. It's awsome

  • This is a really powerful song. <3 I love it so much.

Would anyone happen to have an mp3 of this song? I looked everywhere, and couldn't find one.

  • i love the scream "PAIN" at 4:20and how it is followed by the next line "all the time..."

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGHT!

  • I've heard this music once, i think in a woman's performance, but i can't figure out, where...could anyone help me?

  • yes it's stream of passion - pain :)

  • @LuciusKarlsen The Guitar beginning is James Bond Theme ..... could be that...

  • they are not :)

Arjen told this in some interviews

  • I loved the harsh voice at the end,and also the folky parts in this song!!

  • Actually when you listen to "into the electric castle" the whole thing is an experiment by forever. For example listen to the track Forever of the Stars on "into the electric castle"

As for the human equation its not really connected though at the end you do find out the entire thing was really a dream sequencer program run by forever.

  • @GATails it ties in, ayreon is the world where theres a experiment known as the "forever of the stars". forever of the stars ties into EVERY ALBUM. 1010101010100 is all about trying to take it down.

  • @uberari the experiment isnt called "forever of stars" its called the final experiment.

  • @uberari The Final Experiment was when a scientist on the apocalyptic Earth tried to send visions of war back in time, as is in the song "E=mc^2". The Human Equation was a different experiment, a program run by Forever of the Stars, a specific Forever, to try to understand human emotion after Earth blew itself up.

  • @wareya thanks man. i feel kinda stupid because i dont know that.

  • @uberari where the fuck were u. i got one jedi stabbed and 3 arsenic curses in the snout. mc donoughts now. 4 deathstars down. kirk shot ursula 4. slowmo pain. day 3. tis the fucking 7zth of march 2011 in the matrix for avatar 1. kill tanjaunsquat with acidcurses. king Galadriel. lord Maitreah. • @galadriel7777 Hahahaha , piss in me ! what did the bitch of youre dead grandma shit on you monotesiculed rick ?

  • @uberari FotS is the direct cause of ItEC and THE, is referenced in TFE and FotM, speaks in 01011001, and AF, TDS, THE, and 01011001 all reference a dream sequencer.

  • @wareya to gain back the emotions. and when they gain them back they realize their whole lives are run by machines and send a comet with their dna down to earth, thus making the human race.

  • @uberari They understand that they're run by machines the entire time. The whole thing is a dilemma of what would be "right" for them to do and be.

  • Ow, he does. Google anwered me already.

  • Does James Labrie sing in this song?

  • Yes. He is the "Me" in all the album! As DT fan is good to hear him here and I can say that I didn't recognized is voice at the first time.

  • can't you hear that?? he is the character "me"!

  • Yes, at the start.

  • how do you pronounce Ayreon?

  • air-e-on

  • thanks

  • It boggles the mind how Devin Townsend can sing so beautifully and scream so violently. Not to mention his song writing genius. To me, he is a "vocal yin & yang." I have a picture of him at my desk.

  • I know what you mean... Its friggin powerful.

  • I love how the chorus is mostly major chords and melodies but it still sounds like pure PAIN. Ayreon and Townsend are geniouses.

  • devin townsend!

  • Definitely,my favorite song from Human Equation

  • My favorite song from the album.

  • I love this song

  • man, i need this! along with every other Ayreon album. I only have heard a handful of songs and love them all, I dont want to spoil it though by listening to everything online.(im anal about that kind of stuff, only a couple songs from an album online at most and then i need to get it!). Sadly, im 14, looking for a job, and need this and numerous others!

  • congratulation - not too many 14 year olds listen to true art anymore. Keep it up; there is lot to listen and learn! Ayreon is not the most complex outthere but each album is phenomenally produced. The sound is second to none. I can hear Townsend's influence in this song (besides his singing). BTW, got most of Ayreon albums. Good luck, young man....

  • @micanut48 This is true, most of the youth listen to mainstream cRAP and POoP.

I'm tired of the BS music on the radio with no musical, emotional, melodic quality.

    Go ayreon!

    and long live metal!

  • @MagicBlubber .....i love you O_O......lol jk...i just totally agree with you there....music these days is just about money...no one cares about expression or emotion anymore. All this heavily fabricated BS pisses me off.. And it pisses me off even more when i can't state my opinion...i bet you could relate...right?...WB

  • @MATTALIC Yep.

    Emotion

    Melody

    Harmony

And by emotion I don't mean those emo boybands that rant about their girlfriends and say "I CAN RELATE TO THE SONG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BRASIL" If you know what I'm saying.

If music can give you chills like Ayreon can, they're doing something right.

  • @micanut48 I too actually started around 14. Word-of-mouth is a pretty reliable way of getting to know good stuff these days.

  • @micanut48 I was going to say, it sounds a lot like Devin Townsend's stuff. That is an absolute compliment to both Ayreon and Devin Townsend.

  • @micanut48 Well I did start listening to actual good music since I was 9 or 10 I'm 16 right now... And my favorite bands are Opeth, Porcupine Tree, and Mastodon.... I'm proud of myself :D hahahaha just kidding... But many people my age really DO NOT lsiten to good music anymore! but what does it matter? If there are bands like Ayreon who cares?!

  • @danevati 9,16. or even 23.Today's youth!Ha! With pc you check out YouTube, then its a matter of downloading free online or stealing a disk..Young whippersnapper: In my time ,at 9 there was "top 40" & AM transistor radio. We used to get up before sunrise, walk through the snowstorm 46 miles to the closest record store & buy a 17inch LP record(Impossible to rip-off)all the time hoping when we got home that the music was 1/3 as good as the LP cover.YouTube?& the young'uns don't believe how hard....

  • Im 14 and I have every album. They are definatly worth getting.

  • dude lucky! i would LOVE to have all of them!

  • buy em then

  • @ahigherstate

You give me hope in my generations youth =]

  • @ahigherstate im 15, theyre freakin awesome =D

  • @ahigherstate Hey Im 14 too !! Your not the only one :) I finally find someone like me ;) I really love this band too !! The world needs more people like us who like REAL good music :P

  • @metalneverdie1995

and i'm 15 and i also own this album and love prog.

  • @ahigherstate

god you remind me of me when I was your age. So young and completely to one of the most brilliant music of all.

Great to hear that younger people admire Ayreon as well.

    Keep it up!

  • Love it

  • Actually, the chorus was written by Devin too, lol.

  • Three days grace no have conpetion!

  • I love It

  • lux

  • stupid.

    idiot.

    don't

    comment.

  • Devin fits so good! Really good idea to put him on! one of my favourite singers!

  • Many Thanks!

  • this is such an amazing song, i love it!

  • This song reminds me a bit of Cynic.

  • Fuck you guys this is an amazing song all and all.

  • Love the intro's atmosphere! Not a big fun of prog metal and so this song doesn't "give me the feeling" like it should. The song doesn't hold up to the end but I still liked it although the chorus is a bit too cheesy in my liking.. I strongly recommend Devin Townsend for everyone (song Deadhead for example).

Don't throw me out of the airlock for this post :D

  • the choros too cheesy? i think it´ s the other way around :P but Deadhead is good! i strongly recommend the rest of the album "Accelerated Evolution" along with most of his other material. NOT ALL!! :) cheers!

  • I think the whole song is not as good as the chorus. The lack of cohesion between the folkie part and the rest of the song, the abrupt ending... It seems like Arjen rested on his laurels for having created such a glorious chorus. But the good thing is that thanks to this song I discovered Devin Townsend, one of the few metal artists I really like not being a metal fan.

  • Haha, sometimes I think this is Tool, but Ayreon is a great band too :]

  • Hey,

this song is pretty amazing, simply cause of the chorus. It's so emotional without being put on.

But I normally don't like metal. at all. so if any of you can put me on to more stuff like this, that'd be awesome.
