@Birks1995 As a natural red head, you do need to lighten the hair out to a blonde color before you dye it pink. The color doesn't turn out well when put over red.

This was film in the city of Bayreuth, Germany. The band lived there for a number of years back in their earlier years, (unknown if it was the whole band or just Rogue and Jessica) so I imagin it was either a city they live in or one they just loved while there.

Dark Rave? Darkwave is closer to the actual terminology. But like the "New Wave" scene of the 80's, it's simply an easy way to classify bands of different stylistically, but similar musically.

Goth is a rather large term that gets misunderstood. CXS can easily be called Goth the same way Siouxsie and the Banshees or Bauhaus. Maybe Voltaire. Bella Morte. Collide. Ego Likeness. Lots of bands. Goth is a huge subculture. Lots of degrees of Goth. Lots of disagreements. Goth just is.

They don't do it to make videos like all the main stream muscians. They do it because they love their fans and the music, so it doesn't matter to fans if the videos suck or not. The band is still seen as an underground band, if you look at the works of other bands when they were not main stream their videos sucked too.

Glad you like the music, but you dont need to point out the video quality. As most fans don't notice it, and those that do don't care about the video. They just like the band.

It's a shame not to do a nice video for such a beautiful song. If they tried, they could've told someone to animate something for the song, I'd gladly voulonteer. That was my point. Nothing to make you judge am I a fan or not. And if the song only matters then why not just stick an image instead of making a video?

It's one thing to do videos cleanly and finish the best you can, and another to throw sincerity out the window. While I'm in agreement that most popular music is shallow, regurgitated crap, simply being "underground" isn't what makes the Cruxshadows good. I think you're selling them a little short to simply say they're not "mainstream", where you could highlight some actual merits.

I have to agree with you. I know that I wasn't involved in this conversation but I had to make a point. I personally feel that the level of creativity has sort of slipped with Rogue since they have become more mainstream. He has found a formula and have stuck to it. It makes most of their new singles sound like carbon copies. When they were still "underground" they wrote a far more varied amount of types of music. They were so much more versatile when they were younger. I'm still a fan.

I can see similarities in style with their new songs, but by going back and listening to CXS from Until the Voices Fade to Tears, you can see the evolution into the world of electronica and away from the world of pure rock. While, a rock electronica band, particularly with their newest EP, Immortal, they're sound has been moving towards heavy electronica.

And, music is a living creature. The music of the 60's sounds like the 60's. Same with the 70's, 80's, and 90's. The club scene and the underground scene started to merge in a lot of aspect and as such, music started to focus on a particular group of people. Their music targets certain people, like all musicians. No one can target everyone, because you lose something in translation.

Whether or not they are more versatile? Their music still pushes boundaries. No cookie cutter songs.

And even now, the songs continue to evolve. I expect the next CD to be electronica but I also expect something else to be brought to the table, like they always do.

As far as money? Money produces egos and these are still some of the nicest, most caring musicians I have ever found.

So, I disagree with you and most of your comments but still good to see more CXS fans, even ones who have become slightly disillusioned. I hope you will take what I said into consideration next time you listen.

His voice is much more powerful in person, the recordings hardly do any justice to Rogue's voice or the bands playing. You should go see them in concert sometime, just don't expect that line up as the only two people still with the band from the video are the singer Rogue and the pink haired girl Jessica.

Sorry this took so long, while I haven't had a chance to ask her myself. As I had been burried under wedding plans that she was able to help with, I do believe the locks were her own hair or a human hair dreads that were dyed pink before being woven/braided.

I do remember Rogue and Jessica both have commented that it took forever for the pink to finally fade out from her hair. So I suppose that's a good work of caution. Next chance I get will be asking Jessica if that was her own hair and what methods she used to dye her hair that color.

@Ataries It wasn't a wig actually. From my undertsanding that was Jessica's hair along with a bit of weave woven in and dyed bright pink.

There are actually a lot of good dreadfall sites online that can give you hair pieces that look a lot like hers.
