i cheer for my high school. and we dont just go "Go Team!" we do everything that an all-star team does, and we compete. we're like one of the best teams where i live! i hate when these teams look down on school teams. i mean, we're all cheerleaders...support eachother

I love Cheerleading!!!!!! I just finished my last year of Popwarner Cheer and Now I'm doing another year of Allstars and I love it! Next year I'm going to try to make Varsity for Highschool and on top of that I'm going to keep doing allstars!(: <333333 and same with College level

Wanna tell the fabulous cheerleaders of Dunbar high school that they're JUST yelling "Go team?" Yeah, didn't think so because I guarantee they work just as hard, if not harder. High school cheerleaders don't get spring floors and they still pull fulls and double fulls and standing tumbling and double downs. So if you've never cheered high school AND all-star you have NO room to degrade one or the other. I have done both and they are both VERY difficult in different respects.

Okay maybe high school cheer isn't as hardcore as all-star, i'd love to do all star, but cheerleading is cheerleading. I'm sorry I can't afford thousands of dollars a year for all-stars.
Besides, i like CHEERING the only cheering that happens in all stars is the little cheer that is usually about 20 words thrown in the middle of all the stunting.

Tryouts for my high school team are next week and even though we don't know if we've made the team or not they still are having us condition and practice regularly to get ready. They have 4 practices a week for 3 hours. Plus we take team tumbling at Illinois Cheer Company. And I train there on my own. We also compete. High school teams can be just as dedicated.
@cheergirl1216 Amen. I don't think all-star teams realize that most competitive high school teams actually have more practices. I know my team practiced 5 days a week, 2 hours a day, sometimes even 3 hours and sometimes 4 hour practices on Saturday. This is compared to my all-star team when we practiced 2 hours a day 2 days a week. Some people compare the two without knowing all the details.
well actually bout the if you cheer for football all you do is "go team" uhh naw. I cheer for high schoo.. we cheer for basetball and football nd we COMPETE. we pratice 6 times a week for 3-4 a day for 10 months. dats alot.
i agree. i cheer for highschool football and basketball too and just because i live in a small town and don't have a fancy gym to go to every day we still work our butts off during the week and on weekends. I personally think training for over $1300 is a bit ridiculous.
Actually my friends are on pace elite and I've spent a day at their practice you can not tell me I wouldn't last a day at your practice but I know that sure as hell that pace elite is better than you. And last time I checked YOU compared your cheer to school cheer so you can't talk

i cheer for my schools basketball team... i have practice 12 hours a week. and my team is basically the best in my area. there isn't much difference between all star cheer and high school.
Some high schools aren't like that so it depends on where you live. I did my high school's team and we were basically sideline cheerleaders. We stunted and tumbled. But not as hard as All-Star. I do all-star also and I love it. It's better than high school.

i couldn't live without cheerleading! i'm from the UK and i used to cheer for an allstar squad but i joined my university team this year. there is so much less pressure on me in my uni team even though i work just as hard. we compete as well as doing games, i just don't feel the same pressure as i did in my allstar team. i do miss my allstar team though. we're lucky that we're recognised as a sport at uni but we're a minority one and don't get a lot of funding and stuff :(

honestly, all star or high school, cheer is cheer! but speaking from experience, sometimes all star parents and cheerleaders can be kinda stuck up and rude...
That's not all high school cheerleading does.... we do the SAME exact thing you do but we have more responsibility.. we have to balance, 1-5 games a week plus practice, pep-rallys, decorating locker rooms and competitions...
yeah i know, and they only reason they have more tumbling or harder stunts is because practice and competitions is all they do. school teams just do not have time to spend a 2 hr practice on tumbling.
high school cheerleading doesnt even compare to allsatr we have 10x more the competitive drive then you we have to handle competetion season and practice up to 4 days a week and getting to our gym which could be up 3 hours away in my case, we are determined althletes who basically dedicate our whole entire lives ot this sport, you guys have basketball and football season. i dare you to take a spin at all star
lmao, i actually have done all-stars but i couldnt balance both school and all-star so i had to pick one and i choose my school team because i have been cheering for them since kindergarden... and you choose to go to gyms 3 hours away, and just because you do high school doesnt mean you dont dedicate your life to cheerleading.. and how do you know you have "10x" more competitve drive? and we have 3-4 hour practices 6 days a week, before games and sometimes after games...
and just because we have football and basketball season doesnt determine our dedication.. it actually shows dedication because you go through all this stupid stuff just to try to squeez practice in and homecoming and stuff just to learn your routine and stuff. and if it wasnt for high school cheerleading, you wouldnt have your precious all-star cheerleading.. so you're welcome.

I was in both shool & allstar cheer. Allstar is still in my book a sport. The muscles you use and the commitment it takes. Not to mention you are throwing a human up in the air and catching it ever few seconds. It takes a lot to do this. YOu dont see many football, basketball or any other sports team doing that. You get some pretty hard ore girls when you enounter any cheerleader. And to the comment about Allstar being to epensive. I was dirt poor. But i did fundraisers and only paid $200 for it

I don't really like all-stars. Most of them (don't yell at me for this i said most not all) are little stuck-up, think they're better them everyone else *itches.
Having cheered both for school & competitive--I know that both are sports. Schools compete too. All-star gets to focus on their competition routine all year long. All star does have tougher skills--but schools have to know upwards of 50 cheers, have several routines for games,know the school song & dance, have a competition routine--AND do the whole posters,locker signs, decorating thing.
All-Star Cheer is the most intense sport out there. School cheer is a tough sport AND a club combined.

I have to say its nice to see a group of people setting differences aside to get to a common goal..I cheer and its soo irritating dreading practice because of all the drama...and feeling like nobody wants you there... Those coaches ...have it right.

For all-star, they base you off of your tumbling. So at all-star tryouts, we do nothing but tumbling.

ESSENCER6 - Wow, you sound really ignorant, what a sweeping generalisation. The Black cheerleaders at my college are as good as the White cheerleaders. They are many videos on Youtube which show multicultural cheerleading teams all great in dance and strength.

ok cheer costs waaay more than what they said in the video...the cheapest cheer place in my area is over 5,000 a year...but thanks for makin this video...maybe it will help the world get past the stereotypes and see what cheer really is!!

i couldn't live without cheerleading! i'm from the UK and i used to cheer for an allstar squad but i joined my university team this year. there is so much less pressure on me in my uni team even though i work just as hard. we compete as well as doing games, i just don't feel the same pressure as i did in my allstar team. i do miss my allstar team though. we're lucky that we're recognised as a sport at uni but we're a minority one and don't get a lot of funding and stuff :(

That's not all high school cheerleading does.... we do the SAME exact thing you do but we have more responsibility.. we have to balance, 1-5 games a week plus practice, pep-rallys, decorating locker rooms and competitions...

yeah i know, and they only reason they have more tumbling or harder stunts is because practice and competitions is all they do. school teams just do not have time to spend a 2 hr practice on tumbling.

high school cheerleading doesnt even compare to allsatr we have 10x more the competitive drive then you we have to handle competetion season and practice up to 4 days a week and getting to our gym which could be up 3 hours away in my case, we are determined althletes who basically dedicate our whole entire lives ot this sport, you guys have basketball and football season. i dare you to take a spin at all star

lmao, i actually have done all-stars but i couldnt balance both school and all-star so i had to pick one and i choose my school team because i have been cheering for them since kindergarden... and you choose to go to gyms 3 hours away, and just because you do high school doesnt mean you dont dedicate your life to cheerleading.. and how do you know you have "10x" more competitve drive? and we have 3-4 hour practices 6 days a week, before games and sometimes after games...

and just because we have football and basketball season doesnt determine our dedication.. it actually shows dedication because you go through all this stupid stuff just to try to squeez practice in and homecoming and stuff just to learn your routine and stuff. and if it wasnt for high school cheerleading, you wouldnt have your precious all-star cheerleading.. so you're welcome.

I was in both shool & allstar cheer. Allstar is still in my book a sport. The muscles you use and the commitment it takes. Not to mention you are throwing a human up in the air and catching it ever few seconds. It takes a lot to do this. YOu dont see many football, basketball or any other sports team doing that. You get some pretty hard ore girls when you enounter any cheerleader. And to the comment about Allstar being to epensive. I was dirt poor. But i did fundraisers and only paid $200 for it

Having cheered both for school & competitive--I know that both are sports. Schools compete too. All-star gets to focus on their competition routine all year long. All star does have tougher skills--but schools have to know upwards of 50 cheers, have several routines for games,know the school song & dance, have a competition routine--AND do the whole posters,locker signs, decorating thing.
All-Star Cheer is the most intense sport out there. School cheer is a tough sport AND a club combined.
