  • I want to go watch one of these one day :)

  • Guys..we're not literally seeing the world rotating, because we live on the surface of the Earth.

What we are seeing is the stars appearing to rotate because the Earth is rotating.

  • are you like in a helicopter or something?!

  • and there is only one power to set the heavens go round like this - Almighty Allah

  • whoaaa weird. u can distinctively see the big dipper.!

  • where in bc?

  • It's so much more amazing to see it in real life

  • fuck you can actually see the world rotating!

  • What a breathtaking video. I would love to see it slowed down - maybe slowed down to two or three videos.

  • "when its cold enough during the night you can see it"

it's not about cold. It's about relative luminosity of the sun

"the altitude in which the suns energy gets trapped causes its color and how it moves like that. "

It's not about altitude. It's chemical compounds in the earth ionosphere. On jupiter for instance the color will be different.

and the way it moves is caused by electromagnetic interactions between earth's and sun's magnetosphere

  • amazing.

  • What a truly amazing video!

  • you can see the world rotating..

  • i know i was looking at the same thing too! it's something so amazing i wish i could see!

  • I like the fog on the ground :P

  • It's not fog.... It's blowing snow. THe winter winds up here keep blowing & they are COLD!

  • lol i thought the camera was moving but later i figured out it was the earth :o

  • you can see the stars in the daytime?!

  • I don't understand anything about the aurora and how it comes to be. All I know is that it is very beautiful.

  • Has there been an Aurora Borealis video EVER made, that wasnt time lapse? If so Id like to see it. Thanks

  • The northern lights in real time still move with some speed... it's quite visible... you can even see waves of particles impacting the atmosphere on really dark nights after a CME. They look like single ripples on a pond and move VERY fast. Washes over the entire sky in less than half a second.

  • U even got a shooting star:D

  • that`s the death star of darth vader >_>

  • Added to favorites; these are GORGEOUS! Having never visited the Northland, having never seen the aurora borealis, you make my desire to see them that much more evident! Until then, I can see them in this beautiful video; thank you!

  • Realy special. What u.tube should be used for.

  • xtremely nice...The clouds swirling below with the northern lights above really combined to make a great shot

  • I thought auroras only happen in the magnetosphere?

  • My god, I really want to live there. It's beautiful. That cloud river flowing between the mountains it's something out of this world.

  • Its actually such a part of this world, amazing

  • ITS COLD!

I would trade the Aurora Borialis for California .. really:P

  • Youre in Norway? I'll trade you california for a 6-pack of beer.

I'll even help you tow it away.

    hmm. hope it floats.

  • creepy, but ur northern lights video 1 is beta i still think...

  • The stars are not disappear.

  • Why would the stars disappear?

  • because the sun rised

  • That is SOOOOOOO cool+creepy between the lights and the fog, never seen anything like it!

I saw an aurora from my house once, but it looked nothing like that! I've seen one that did look like that too, but I don't remember it well cuz it was seven or eight years ago and I was like six years old.

  • the moon rise along with the fog in the low lying areas is sooooo cool. And the clouds moved away just in time whew. And the green hue from the Oxygen is realy far out too!

  • LEt me just tell you all the lies you've been fed. The lights are coming directly from within the earth - look at the green light emanating from the ground and notice when there is a heavy cloud cover the lights are not visible.

Notice how a ship has shot up just near the end of the video. Yes, that light is not a meteor or camera anamoly.

  • what a load of bull.

the lights are actually coming directly from the sun (or mars i can't remember which is it)and are the result of solar winds.

and when theres heavy cloud cover of course you're not going to be able to see the lights because they DON'T come from the earth. you just proved yourself wrong.

  • Yes, that's what you think and that's they want you to think. Just study the material with open mind with possibilities. There is a time lapse-video on the net somewhere - I've downloaded it but lost it. In that video which was recorded by NASA showed the preceise point of where the lights were coming from.

  • The point of view of this taken is above the cloud line. The clouds stop any light from reaching the upper atmosphere. Look closely, use your scientific deduction correctly and you will see what is so obvious.

  • lol You are right I see it now ty for info..

  • umm the northern lights are cuased when particles from space hit the earth magnetic field mixing them together makeing the white light that humans cant see visible colors that the human eyes can see and since its space and magnetic feild causing it/it makes it look like its comin from the ground when its not(sorry big science freak just trying to prove a point on scientific facts)

  • I MUST see one of this before I die

  • wo rate it 5 out of 5

  • Beautiful

  • is this a real video ? I mean is everithing really real ? please tell me ? because it looks amazing !

  • That, my friend, is Aurora Borealis. And it is something, along with a total solar eclipse, that I must see before I die.

  • Amazing stuff. I would give anything to see that in real life

  • Give me a PSP and go to North Norway... it shows often there :)

  • who needs sci fi

  • the fog is so cool

  • wow 10hrs of continuous recording,rate would b 5

  • well done...finally something good on youtube!!

  • i live in northern canada but you must be around quebec city or higher cause im in NB and can see it only as good as the sequel (this one)

  • Again, amazing! Thank you for sharing! Someday I will go to Canada to see the Aurora Borealis.

  • shit

  • Lo que puede hacer la tecnología.The technology can do anything.Have you ever seen anything so in fact?

  • both of those are beautiful

  • Hey!, what kind of camara did you use for this? I notice the stars are visible even when the sun is it? are the stars visible during the day time there? or is the camara a special one? Sorry if I sound ignorant. lol Im from the tropics.

  • It's really common at my town (I'm from North Finland) that you can see stars clearly at daytime if the sky is really blue/clear. :)

  • I'm not an expert either, but it could be because BC it's so in the north that the sun doesn't go up enough to "hide" the stars, so they can be visible at daylight.

  • pretty cool dude

  • looks fantastic. some ambient music to go along with it would be nice and i think the perfect piece would be 'northen lights/southern cross' by steinar gregertson if he'd let you use it.

  • how long do they last?

  • I live in Finland in Europe and you can see aurora in the next few weeks and late december in the north near lapland. I have never seenit myself but am plannig to go there to try and maybe get some videos myself. thanks for this video mate i cant wait to see more.

  • Hey! I got to thinking about it, and it is worth noting that only the nothernmost parts of BC are far enough north to experience the midnight sun or at least a midnight twilight. Most of it is not THAT far north. For example you wouldn't see it in Vancouver.

  • British Columbia is situated at such a northern latitude that they experience what is known as "the midnight sun" at certain points of the year. This means that the sun peeks accross the horizon in the middle of the night and partially illuminates the sky from a low angle giving a sort of twilight effect for many hours. So you see the stars and the sun. But I've never seen such striking footage of it. That's really beautiful.

  • sunlight is too weak??i dunno

  • Out of curiousity, how are you able to view the stars while the sun is up?

  • superb...the cosmos

  • uhm, why are some stars not moving? this is not just another trick, right for I am amazed by the video as well

  • u can c some constellations there

  • That's amazing.

  • It looked like you could reach up and touch the clouds.

  • YAY ! Sky used aurora beam!

    Foe human fainted!

    Use next human?

    {YES} {NO}

    ---{NO}

    AURORA PWNED U HAHHAHAH

  • lol. xD

  • Wow...it's so amazing to see the rotation of the planet like that, watching the stars and everything. Just amazing.

    ~Steph

  • this really is beautiful, i would love to witness it some day, takes your attention away from all the crap in this world and makes you remember there are still beautiful happenings

  • damn you can see the planet is rotating when it plays that fast. That whole thing is crazy and beautiful

  • stars in morning? its paradise

  • Pity about the people, eh? :P

Man that was amazing, it was just surreal watching the stars move like that.

  • what a beautiful world we live on.

  • impresionante

  • I can't stop watching this! Geo-synchronis satellite? Is that the objects on the right that don't move the one at 1 o'clock and approx. 4 o'clock. What are they? I want to know more!!! I'll never watch TV again,YouTube why did you sell.

  • No, those are almost certainly just marks on the lense (perhaps dew). At the very end of the video, you can see them in front of the clouds that move in.

  • hey this video is really good!

  • i see big diper the stars ^^

  • that s great! what camera do you use?

  • 8 seconds in its like the clouds paint the sky with stars. It's so beautiful. I love how the stars rotate, it's like watching the earth move! It's the most captivating thing I ever watched.

  • Wow! What you see out there is a LOVE OF GOD!

  • This is great. I knew in theory that if you stood at the bottom of a shaft like a well, you could see the stars in daytime, but have never seen optics that did this. The constellations moving around the pole in time lapse and daytime aurora were a very interesting capture.

  • Seeing this video on a cloudy Kansas City afternoon just made my day! Thanks!

  • en donde es esto??

  • I never knew you coudl see the lights in the daytime! It's a bit hard to see, but it's there. Thanks!

  • Actually, this video was most certainly take at night.

You see, in order to take this video (which is actually composed of many still shots that are combined), the exposure times on the camera must be very long.

As a result, what you're seeing in the video is an over-exposed, likely full or near-full *moon* rising over the scene.

  • i have never seen the stars during the day...

  • Thats amazing!

  • you could see orion going past , fantastic

  • The great bear (North Pole 7 stars) constellation is very obvious and clear, though I only saw them in books. Thanks.

  • beautiful

  • who needs your damn fckn comments?

  • Me.

  • This is VERY cool

what kind of camera does that?

  • a time lapse camera?

you probly just place it, and let it capture a frame every 30 seconds, or u just speed it up... way UP!

  • nice^^and foggy

  • Wow ! Awesome

  • You definetly won't see anything like that where I live!! Simply stunning!! ^_^

  • This was wonderful! Thank you for sharing this video!

  • where in B.c Is this ?

  • Amazing. Really amazing.

Planning to go see that next summer.

  • it happens from september to october and march to april so go back and plan your trip again, its not manmade to be shown at any time, its nature, it has its own schedule.

  • i live in sweden and if you're gonna watch the sky you would probably see 10 stars or less...i wish the sky here would be like in this video, seeing meteor showers and stuff like that ^^

  • that was amazing i live in the uk and never get to see anything spectacular as that ... i did see a comet once tho.

  • Thats well cool, nice vid. it's almost spooky.

  • that is the moon rising out, NOT the sun

  • This is simply stunning!!!!

  • beautiful...you're so lucky to be able to see something like that.

  • O.O This will be the place for my retirement:D

  • Wow is that daytime you can still see the stars

  • is that for real???

  • Totally cool. This is why youtube is so great (it's easy to forget why you look at this sight with all the creeps). I saw the northern lights in Minneapolis once.

  • Reminds me of old times walking guard duty at night when I was stationed in Fairbanks AK. Nice vid.

  • fairbanks, ak had some purple/red'ish ones out mid-august this year.

  • wow

    is that white stuff fog?

    ahah woah

why does that stuff happen with the lights and all?

  • is this real?

  • There's a shooting star around 1:10 - 1:13 in the lower middle of the screen, right above the lights.

  • for some reason, this one reminds me of...star..trek....

  • yeah is it the moon? Because its pretty big :S

  • ooh it's pretty ^^

  • las estrellas se muevenNNNNN

  • todo se mueve en el cielo.

  • it would be so good to see a hi res, full screen version,

    truly awesome!

  • thanks for this amazing video. definitely a 5.

  • Really cool. Would be nice to have music though.

  • I wish I was there! Surreal stuff!

Was that the Moon that came out of the horizon at the start?? And what happened at the end?? A thunder storm?

  • that is awsome i like the other one but this one u can see all the stars move. and it looks freaking awsome

and when i say stars moving i mean the earth rotating

  • wowza!!

  • nice, but your other one is unreal

  • Beautiful!
