i've got news for you. I also shoeed sources. Not my fault you can;t handle it
You are a bear fan boy, simple. I supplied sources and never once claimed a tiger will always beat a grizzly. I said you should not be too sure you are right
Check with the Smithsonian and the Guiness book of records, or are they ignorant too?
@alanbstard4 also, there is a so called " Ligon " a cross between a tiger and Lion in captivity, that will weight 1250ibs when mature. He weights 1000 lbs now
@alanbstard4 liger? Really. You're going to try and bring ligers into this? You truly are a fool. Due to the genetic combination, Ligers lack the growth inhibitors of lions and tigers. They're enormous but also effectively useless as big cats. Unlike Kodiaks, who are genetically programmed to function effectively at such weights. They're also an unnatural species created under man made conditions and TOTALLY irrelevant to our conversation. Are you really so dumb?
@alanbstard4 yes, you showed sources which give records sizes (and the 670lbs figure being within normal range is exaggerated). GIANT tigers have nothing to do with our conversation. I already established why it's stupid of you to even bring them up, yet you persist to attempt to present this information as if it's relevant. You accuse me of fanboyism, yet I'm the one who's presenting you with objective studies, and you refuse to even read the evidence presented. What's wrong with you?
@alanbstard4 again, you use records. That only weakens your argument as someone who is ignorant of actual data. That would be like me bringing up Andre the Giant as if he had some sort of bearing in an average human vs. average gorilla fight. It's so ridiculous as to be laughable and destroys your credibility. You're only furthering yourself as one who uses extremely biased and non-applicable data in an attempt to artificially reinforce his position.
@alanbstard4 The reality is that a LOT of exaggeration exists about Siberian tigers. The same goes for Grizzly bears too, but I'm not so biased as to think either of the larger figures (even the ones presented by some professionals) are actually accurate. The reality is that Grizzlies (unlike Siberians) are far more spread out across various ecological regions (averages ranging greatly from region to region). They can be much smaller than what people seem to think. Kodiak are just huge.
@alanbstard4 judging by the fact that you seem to fail to grasp that we're dealing with average figures here (only presenting high end estimates) and that you would have the audacity to bring a world record figure into a vs. fight as if it had any place there, it has become clear to me that you're likely just a child or very uninformed person who prefers to feign knowledge than actually present relevant data. You're obviously not nearly as knowledgeable as you make yourself out to be.
@alanbstard4 in light of that, I think I'll end this debate here. I've no desire to converse with someone who's so blatantly ignorant and would rather cling to antiquated and EXTREMELY atypical figures that reinforce his biased love of tigers as opposed to looking at the information objectively and actually reading the evidence presented to him. Goodbye.
yes I know, but a tiger has ferocity a bear does not have. The strength and quickness of a tiger is something to be seen to be believed. They even attack elephants and leave them with shocking wounds
@alanbstard4 also, The bear does have an extreme ferocity. Grizzlies (kodiaks being included) are known for their ridiculous aggression. The tiger's strength pales in comparison to that of a Grizzly (their bone density and physical power is incredible) and they can run up to 35 mph, which is similar to the speed of a tiger. What's more, they are extremely quick for their enormous size, certainly fast enough to knock back a tiger.
@alanbstard4 the main problem is the height difference. Bears stand on their hind legs and have excellent grappling forelimbs. Their thick hide and fur will protect them from most clawing and biting (as they have 6 inch claws, longer than that of tigers and frequently grapple with one another). If the tiger leaves its head open with a bit lower on the bear, the bear will simply crush its skull with it's sledge hammer appendages. It can't get around the bear because the bear can turn quickly
@alanbstard4 If it tries to lunge for the neck, the bear (whose paws are right by its neck) is more than likely going to simply knock the tiger back (potentially killing it right there). The tiger is more likely to die attempting to apply a windpipe lock than anything, as that would be the only feasible way it could kill a bear (whose small, thick neck doesn't even guarantee success if it did manage). I favor the bear against a normal grizzly, but not definitely. The Kodiak WILL win though.
@joemanses In Russia and China and India, bears are killed by tigers. A tiger may, unless forced to do otherwise, sneak up on a bear, In any even, a bear would be hard pressed to stop over 600 ibs leaping at it's neck
@alanbstard4 again, I don't know where you're getting this 600 pound figure. It's simply wrong. If you're using a 600+ pound tiger than we should be using a large grizzly. A bear would have no problem stopping that. What's more, there are no records of a tiger killing bears significantly larger than 600 pounds. It's mostly just adolescent bears and she-bears. They also ambush. Tiger fans tend to fail to take this into account. Adult males practically always win face offs.
@alanbstard4 you look it up, you're wrong. I don't know where you're getting your facts, but all reliable sources agree that the average weight is hovering around 400lbs. I can't list sources here, but just look on wikipedia. It lists the average current weight at 389 pounds or so. Every reliable source I've seen concurs with a similar estimate. You're simply wrong here. 600lbs is a BIG tiger. Much bigger than average. The largest wild weight within normal range is 550.
@alanbstard4 oh, and even in an email from Dale Miquelle, who is possibly one of the most knowledgeable individuals pertaining to in the Amur tiger around, he said that the average Siberian they measure in the wild is under 500 pounds and close to 400.
@alanbstard4 Dale Miquelle has been leading research and conservation efforts on the Amur tiger since 1992. He knows more about tigers and has more first hand experience with them than you EVER will. How can you be so arrogant? You're simply wrong here. Accept it.
here'a another ref from wiki more accurate. " The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species, reaching a total body length of up to 3.3 metres (11 ft) and weighing up to 306 kg (670 lb "
The heaviest known tiger was a huge male killed in 1967 that weighed 388.7 kg (857 lb) and is on display at the Smithsonian
@alanbstard4 Are you really so ignorant as to think exceptionally large specimens are in any way a reflection of the average? As I said, the largest typical tiger you will find in the wild is about 222.3kg. That would be like me saying the largest Kodiak on record (a 1700 bear) is even worth bringing up. You even trying to bring that into the conversation shows your lack of understanding. Also, how can you say it's "more accurate". You're so arrogant.
@alanbstard4 what's more, you laugh at my usage of a wiki, yet use one yourself. Way to be hypocritical. What's more, the links I provided after SPECIFICALLY address even the professionals tendency to exaggerate. Looks like you didn't even check the evidence provided. You'll also notice that most of the "average weights" that are higher are of older, less scientific studies. Modern studies show greater objectivity and a more technical approach.
@alanbstard4 Also, Grizzlies are by far the most deadly sub-species of bear. At average weights the tiger is simply outmatched. It's not an impossible victory, but the factors are stacked in favor of the Grizzly. For the record, Grizzlies lunge at each other all the time, and they have very little trouble stopping one another. Bears are much bigger and stronger and more robust than tigers, so what makes you think the grizzly would have trouble stopping a smaller, weaker tiger?
@joemanses I told you. Tigers have a ferocity, speed and agility bears don't have. Tigers are always incredible strong. Combine all that, and you really do have a handful. I will not claim who will beat whom as you are. I am merely informing you, you may be wrong
@alanbstard4 You keep saying that, but Grizzly do have a ferocity. Bears can run at 35mph, which is the same as a tiger. In terms of running speed, they are matched. As far as agility goes, the tiger is quicker, but it can not overcome the power and robustness of the grizzly with agility alone. The difference in agility is not great enough for the tiger to mount a grizzlies back (the only tactic that would do the tiger any good). I'm telling you that a Kodiak WILL win.
That is one bad BEAR. attack. Coolest I've seen here. That bear must be hungry. We saw bear attacking fish in Katmai, but not a reindeer. Seems like that bear has eaten some rancid reindeer in the past and really, really wanted some FRESH meat. I would too. Throw some on the BAR B Q for me!
@MrMattrixx That's 100% true!!!! You'll get some idiots who are tiger lovers that claim a tiger can take down a grizzly but that is complete bullshit!! Grizzlies are the top of the food chain they would rip a tiger to pieces!!
@316greg Grizzlies and tigers do not compete on the same food chain but either way by your logic you would be wrong. Polar Bears are much larger then a grizzly.
@316greg don't be too sure. Tigers can take on crocodiles out of the water, and their strength and focus is a sight to behold. A Tiger's ferocity is not matched by the bear. Tigers kill bears in India and attack elelpants
@MrMattrixx a few herbivores could. The cape buffalo in Africa is extremely violent and will attack anything. They are as dumb as dogshit, which helps, but no lion will attack it solo, elephants expect attack from them
Don't forget the hippo and of course the elephant will make mince meat out of a grizzly and so would a meat eater crocodile in the water
Well as you watch using his hooves would do nothing since that bear seemed to know what he was going and get his weight on it's head so he couldn't rear up and kick good moves for the bear's part lol.
@TheUwstout Well, that's true. But I'm referring to smaller predators, such as wolves, cougars, etc. Obviously bears have extreme resilience along with their strength, so they are an exception. But usually, brown bears don't hunt large game, and instead prefer berries, grasses, and small animals picked up from foraging. It's these occasions that brown bears will hunt for cervid prey, so deer didn't need to evolve defenses for bears since it's not a commonplace.
dang , and that was a TINY bear. the bigger ones are even faster. that one is maybe 300 lbs, now imagine an 800 lbs one doing the same but faster. if it wants you and you don't have a gun, it will take you.
@shotgunfreak17 ok dude that bear was not even close to 300lbs it is much bigger and besides i agree that is smaller than the average grizzlys ive seen but that is not a tiny bear
You know whats scary is how fast the dame bear is. If ever you encounter a grizzly you better know where its testicles are located, because you have but a second to give it a good kick for dear life.
i didnt think grizzlys hunt anything other than vegetation and fish...what the heck, see now im worried...they eat other stuff, if i see a grizzly im getting the fuck out.
Come at opponet, draw charge, quick lateral, fast oblique, in for the kill.
Right out of the Mike Singletary, Randy Couture, J Tatum handbook.
I've hunted in AK, bears are deceptivly quick, and very fast as far as latteral movement and 180 turns.
At 18 my uncle took me to the Motherland on a once in a lifetime.
PH's there have deep respect for the Bear, and all said "A mature male, would wipe out a Lion or Tiger in a square fight, a female with cubs, even more dangerious."
@onblock7 Tiger or lion would have no chance against a grizzley other small bears maby but the grizz can break an animals back with one swat of his paw and they are not slow either also thick hide tiger or lion would have a hard time bitting it.
if you ever get attacked by a bear just give it a jar of honey every dumb fecker knows bears love honey just askpoo bear if you dont believe me. every time i go fishing i take a jar of honey with me and i have never ever been attacked by a bear there are no bears in scotland so i suppose that could have something to do with it but it definately worked when i was attacked by a wasp
ive seen this before years ago and the battle lasted a longer than this the bear had a cub with her as well but whats really interesting is the elk did not or could not run away im betting it was ill some how
My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during 5.5 years by the German BND,the former GESTAPO. I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. My brother was tortured during 1.5 years despite several legal procedures pending. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage, linked on my channel, and our book Der Totalitäre Staat. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me as well
Thumbs up if you want the BND to stop torturing my parents
That carabou was doomed once it decided to stand its ground. The only chance of survival it had was to out run the grizzly. Once the bear clinched its head it was all over.
lol mann what was that? a 350 pound grizzly.....A 350 pound Grizzly can take an adult caribou down but supposedly lions and tiger can take on a 1700 pound Kodiak? lmao
@alanbstard4 Amur tigers aren't nearly that large, bro. Mature males average about 389 pounds, where as mature male Kodiaks average about 1100 pounds. The tiger would get swatted at a 700 pound disadvantage. Sorry to burst your bubble.
@alanbstard4 just so you know, 700 pounds is a VERY big tiger, though they do exist. However, if you want to go that route, 1500 is considered a VERY big kodiak, granting him an 800 pound advantage. That's not the biggest recorded, mind you, just larger. 850 pound tigers have been written about, but there are no reliable sources to cite for those claims.
Facing an armed prey head on, so badass.

Thapar, V. (2004). Tiger: The Ultimate Guide. CDS Books.

0:10 evolution failed this reindeer thing. You know your genetics fucked up when a grizzly bear can get between your only defense.

@TheUwstout LOLOLOL
javyisthis300 2 months ago
@TheUwstout Actually, deer can suffice using their hooves as weapons. Antlers aren't the only line of defense for deers.
SlenderTroll 2 months ago
@SlenderTroll This is true, but from the way the bear attacked I doubt a little weak front leg flick would deter it from tearing it's skull off lol.
TheUwstout 2 months ago
@TheUwstout Well, that's true. But I'm referring to smaller predators, such as wolves, cougars, etc. Obviously bears have extreme resilience along with their strength, so they are an exception. But usually, brown bears don't hunt large game, and instead prefer berries, grasses, and small animals picked up from foraging. It's these occasions that brown bears will hunt for cervid prey, so deer didn't need to evolve defenses for bears since it's not a commonplace.

Grizzly Bears are no more dangerous than people are, I'd opt to say they are far less dangerous than people.
Based off of the simple fact that people kill Grizzly's for sport, and have them mounted in their houses...
PsychoticButcher 8 months ago
@PsychoticButcher So, you would rather fight a grizzly than a man? Of course a fucking grizzly is more dangerous than people are.
ExclusiveRuin 8 months ago
@ExclusiveRuin Grizzly would be far more likely to just run away, people will just shoot your face off. From a distance...
PsychoticButcher 8 months ago
dang , and that was a TINY bear. the bigger ones are even faster. that one is maybe 300 lbs, now imagine an 800 lbs one doing the same but faster. if it wants you and you don't have a gun, it will take you.
shotgunfreak17 9 months ago
@shotgunfreak17 ok dude that bear was not even close to 300lbs it is much bigger and besides i agree that is smaller than the average grizzlys ive seen but that is not a tiny bear

You know whats scary is how fast the dame bear is. If ever you encounter a grizzly you better know where its testicles are located, because you have but a second to give it a good kick for dear life.
MrBinieam 9 months ago
@MrBinieam apparently a bear is as fast as a horse over 40 yards or so then they're fucked

CEMB713 11 months ago
I've just googled "what to do if attacked by grizzly" after this clip...
whatever0481 11 months ago
Come at opponet, draw charge, quick lateral, fast oblique, in for the kill.
Right out of the Mike Singletary, Randy Couture, J Tatum handbook.
I've hunted in AK, bears are deceptivly quick, and very fast as far as latteral movement and 180 turns.
At 18 my uncle took me to the Motherland on a once in a lifetime.
PH's there have deep respect for the Bear, and all said "A mature male, would wipe out a Lion or Tiger in a square fight, a female with cubs, even more dangerious."
Foxhoundx13 11 months ago
@Foxhoundx13 Now a Lion or Tiger would be interesting! VERY! They might take them out, but damn that would be a good FIGHT IMO!
onblock7 7 months ago
@onblock7 Tiger or lion would have no chance against a grizzley other small bears maby but the grizz can break an animals back with one swat of his paw and they are not slow either also thick hide tiger or lion would have a hard time bitting it.
PoorDummIdiots 1 month ago
@PoorDummIdiots I agree with this here, some will say otherwise or try to explain it, but there is nothing to say this is a fact! Good post.

if you ever get attacked by a bear just give it a jar of honey every dumb fecker knows bears love honey just askpoo bear if you dont believe me. every time i go fishing i take a jar of honey with me and i have never ever been attacked by a bear there are no bears in scotland so i suppose that could have something to do with it but it definately worked when i was attacked by a wasp
TheFerox2000 1 year ago 2

Once the bear clinched its head it was all over.

lol mann what was that? a 350 pound grizzly.....A 350 pound Grizzly can take an adult caribou down but supposedly lions and tiger can take on a 1700 pound Kodiak? lmao
AFGknight 1 year ago
@AFGknight No, a lion or tiger can take on a 350 pound grizzly but a 1500 pound grizzly would play with a lion or tiger like a fucking toy.
studdedtires 1 year ago
@studdedtires I agree, but how about at parity? For example, a 500 pound Grizzly vs a 500 pound Lion or a 600 pound Grizzly vs a 600 pound Tiger?
AFGknight 1 year ago
@AFGknight Cats would be more tenacious i think. But tigers attack bears in Siberia only if they are smaller than them.
studdedtires 1 year ago
@studdedtires maybe. but don't count on it. Grizzly bears weight about 800lbs
alanbstard4 2 weeks ago
@AFGknight Kodiaks weight 1000 pounds not 1700. Am Amur Tiger weight between 6-7 hundred, although 800lbs has been found
No bear would like that 700 ibs around it's throat
alanbstard4 2 weeks ago
@alanbstard4 Amur tigers aren't nearly that large, bro. Mature males average about 389 pounds, where as mature male Kodiaks average about 1100 pounds. The tiger would get swatted at a 700 pound disadvantage. Sorry to burst your bubble.
joemanses 6 days ago
@joemanses the highest recorded Amur Tiger ( Siberian ) is 800ibs, average somewhat over 600
alanbstard4 6 days ago
@alanbstard4 I don't know where you're getting your facts, but they're very incorrect. They average is nowhere near 600.
joemanses 6 days ago
@alanbstard4 just so you know, 700 pounds is a VERY big tiger, though they do exist. However, if you want to go that route, 1500 is considered a VERY big kodiak, granting him an 800 pound advantage. That's not the biggest recorded, mind you, just larger. 850 pound tigers have been written about, but there are no reliable sources to cite for those claims.

The National Association of Bear Attacks and Bear Related Assaults (NABABRA) suggests not being attacked by a bear.
If attacked the NABABRA strongly suggests avoiding further attacks.
The NABABRA recommends completely covering yourself in aluminum foil while in bear country.
This will trick the bear into thinking you are a robot and you will most likely not be eaten.
Bear attacks on robots make up less that 2% of all bear attacks.
