The911Shaman, violence related to the sale of pot would be eliminated if you legalized it. The most moral way of buying it is thus as med pot. And parents could sleep better knowing that their kids wouldn't have access to cocaine, heroin, etc because the dealer would be eliminated and we'd be rid of any alleged "gateway drug" problem which, like drug violence, has nothing to do with the effects of smoking it. Jobs would be created and high sales tax revenue generated for impoverished states.

Even if cannabis (hemp, marijuana, grass, weed, ganja, pot, reefer, etc.) was only good for getting high, there's still no rational or valid reason for any government, government agency or body of people to prohibit or inhibit others from peacefully and responsibly cultivating, processing, transporting, distributing, selling, trading, sharing, possessing, consuming or using it for that purpose.

Medical marijuana should be legalized to help people who are sick.

The real problem is street marijuana, stuff that has been stepped on, sold on the streets of the ghettos. Gang bangers and crack thugs rob and shoot and kill people over pot and crack everyday. So saying that legal alcohol has destroyed lives is half true, the other half is illegal drugs like street pot and crack cause more of the same damage and harm to communities and families. It's not just political, it's a social dilemma.
