Snape is the best character in the entire books. not becuase he killed the only man who believed in him, no becuase he saved harrys life countless times, no... its because he, for the greater good, sacrificed his entire life from the point lilly dies to be in servitude of albs Dumbledore and protect the only remaining memory of Lilly, he even had to endure being in the company of the man who killed the only person he ever lived in his entire life, and refer to him as "Lord"... snape's the best.
Also you can see the look of concern for Potter's safety. He didn't want to kill Dumbledore but he knew he had to. In that sense, it makes Snape the most tortured and misunderstood character in the franchise, but also the most interesting and complex

Hes loyal to Dumbeldore. Snape had to kill the one man who treated him well. The one man who believed in him when no one else would. Dumbledore pleaded with him to do it.
He had just done the hardest thing he ever had to do. And his reward? Everyone thinks he is an evil murderer, he is outcast from normal society, and he will have to live with the guilt for the rest of his life.
@Ice0ace He won't feel guilt for killing Dumbledore. Because he alone knew on that night it was for the best. Other Death Eaters would have killed him barbarically and Dumbledore was going to die anyway.
He feels guilt for making the "biggest mistake of his life" by passing on the prophecy to Voldemort.
Snape is NOT a coward. I emphasis this because it's one of the most important things that must be said in the series.

Snape is not a coward.
Hes loyal to Dumbeldore. Snape had to kill the one man who treated him well. The one man who believed in him when no one else would. Dumbledore pleaded with him to do it.
He had just done the hardest thing he ever had to do. And his reward? Everyone thinks he is an evil murderer, he is outcast from normal society, and he will have to live with the guilt for the rest of his life.

@Ice0ace He won't feel guilt for killing Dumbledore. Because he alone knew on that night it was for the best. Other Death Eaters would have killed him barbarically and Dumbledore was going to die anyway.
He feels guilt for making the "biggest mistake of his life" by passing on the prophecy to Voldemort.
Snape is NOT a coward. I emphasis this because it's one of the most important things that must be said in the series.

@Ice0ace Not really.... cause at the end of the book (19 years later) harry gets a portrait of Snape up in Hogwarts and he tells everyone what snape really did and how much of a good man he was. So in actual fact, Snape did die with everybody hating him, BUT... everybody admired him after his truth was out
