Scapegrace is mai waifu. Lol, but he really saved Harvestman here. Without taking those little (but cute) beasts down Harvestman would have died here. Look at how thin he is here. He just couldn't shoo the little ones away himself, he's just too much of a kind soul.

Also this is just brilliant. I like it a lot. All the voices are spot on.

Family Sucks, meaning that those little things on his body were supposed to be his family, hence why they tasted like his blood.

I guess the comics message is that family are terrible, although they probably are for someone as autistic as this comics creator.

That assessment is wrong. Those 'fat things' are actual parasites that fed on his blood, so they tasted of it.

Why Scapegrace knows the taste is shown later on. Read the comic.

Do your research before you make assumptions. The character being sucked on is a Harvestman, frequently referred to as a "daddy long legs". If you read the article, they can be afflicted with small red parasites, which are also arachnids, therefore "cousins".  There is nothing in this comic saying that families themselves suck. It's a pun.
