  • if the man is supposed to be the frame and the woman the picture, i must like picture frames.

  • que HOMBRE tan elegante que porte

  • @santanaelena1 Mil gracias por su comentario! Ricardo y Jane fueron a la vez hermosa y con talento juntos!

  • @jwlundgren, This is from "Two Weeks With Love" ,1950.

  • E s p e t a c u l a r......

  • @35324 Muito obrigado!

  • what movie is this from?

  • those golden times...

  • @aurahuq123 Sadly, we're never to see them again. Thanks so much for your comment!

  • I never saw Ricardo M. dance like this. The great stars from before were so talented and many could act, or sing, or dance.

  • Da tanzten die Paare noch mit einander...heute hat man das Gefühl durch die Körperhaltung der Damen als würden es ihnen von ihrem Tanzpartner eckeln

  • Look online for the interviews via tvlegends that he did. He was am amazing human being...such a good man.

  • I recently watched an episode of Fantasy Island> (yes.... the "infamous white suit" :o)} and he danced a ballroom dance with Jane Powell. I thought it was kind of neat. It wasn't the tango, but they still danced elegantly nearly 30 years later when the show was filmed. Some people NEVER lose it.

  • @misheemom Wow! I'm jealous! I only saw a few of the "Fantasy Island" shows back in the day. Wish I'd had your luck to see him dance again with lovely Jane! Though Mr. Montalban is gone, Jane's still with us! Look on YT for Jane Powell Hollywood Bowl! For someone in her '80s, she's still a winner!

  • @misheemom That's right! It was the episode in which she played the sister of a wealthy man (Vic Morrow) who wanted Fantasy Island for himself; the dance scene was really adorable (a waltz), and I also remembered the amazing tango from this video here!! Awww, good times...

  • I know you will hate me for this, but I can't help it:

    KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN !

    LOL

  • @msinvincible2000 Hee hee, why ?? It was one of his most remarkable roles after all.

  • I wish someone would upload this movie.

  • Montalban was one of the most elegant, handsome, and charming gentlemen ever!

  • @bassfanne45 Amen to that! Thank you for your comment!

  • @varadero1839 Very much indeed.

  • @varadero1839 And I second you too heartily, tee hee...

  • @bassfanne45 ....A class act to say the least. I'm telling you, today's Hollywood has NOTHING on this era!

  • I wish they would put this whole movie on here

  • I confess I became aware of him as Mr. Roarke (I was a teenager). I never knew he could sing, or dance, until today. And boy, he is good!

  • Very charming duo........

  • wow so cute and nice dance. i have to agree it better than so u think u can dance ahha.

  • is the movie on youtube at all??have been looking for it:(

  • It's shocking how much she looks like Hayden Pantierre in the first few seconds when she comes through the door. She's so beautiful!

  • That scene is the reason why men should never buy clothes for a woman!I still laugh when I recall the father trying to do his best by buying his daughter a corset---albeit a medical corset!!! That scene was too funny and oh so memorable!!!

  • This style tango is much smoother & sexier than the rather spastic & spasmodic tango style danced these days. I'd like to see choreography like this on DWTS or So You Think You Can Dance.

  • Ricardo had so much class and masculine grace.

  • Great*****

    THNX!

  • I love this movie! I saw it on TCM once and I've wanted it ever since. You see, all the girls made fun of her for not being allowed to wear a corset, so she puts one on and then after the curtain closes you see that it's got her stuck in the position they finished the dance in. It's hilarious!

  • Excuse me, what's the film?

  • Two Weeks With Love...

  • Brings back many childhood memories of my mother dancing. thank you

  • I second you. My parents lived the so-called "golden years", that's the way the 50s were named in Brazil. In that time men really knew how to court women. Jane's voice was lovely, and Ricardo... (SIGH!) Such a handsome and classy Latin type. Equal to him... No.

But do you mean that she also passed away?

  • He is still an inspiration for guys like me! These were the days when people really had class.

Un talente muy grande, bravo Ricardo Dios te quida.

  • Yes! No sleaze factor! Such a relief, such a talent, such masculine grace and strength and yet very much in sync with his beautiful counterpart. He's so fun to watch. I think he's amazing in his flamenco with Cyd Charisse (actually outshines her, I do believe)! Here the two seem perfectly matched. Charisse is amazing, but perhaps the Latin type dances aren't as much her forte.

  • she is beautiful and he,s so wonderful a pleasure to watch this clip thanks.

  • This is without a doubt one of my very favorite musicals! It's such a sweet film... I wish I could find it on DVD! Oh well, my old VHS will have to do...

thanks so much for posting this! :)

  • Sad to have lost him but then again he was 88..these are VERY nice to see with him all young and vibrant. He was very charasmatic even when he was older though:)

  • JanePowell,RicardoMontalban que maravilhosos!pena que nos os veremos va em paz R.Montalban

  • Adiós, Don Ricardo. Y muchas gracias por grandes momentos como ese, que nos regaló con su talento!!

  • They're immortal on film & in our hearts.

  • ricardo montalban dios lo tenga en su santa gloria:)

  • Adios Ricardo

  • What a beautiful man. Hope your next incarnation is even better!

  • some of the best Ricardo's Thanks

  • Beautiful. It is a shame he hurt himself in one of the movies and could not dannce after that. It was too painful. He sure was a good dancer and so handsome. Loved Jane powell too.

  • Powell, apparently, was quite a dancer. Funny, during the height of her career I always paid attention to her singing talents, which were considerable ("Love Is Where You Find It"). And her sequence with Astaire in "I Left My Hat in Haiti" knocked my socks off.

  • Hi,who has written the music?

  • Wow! That was one of my favorite tangos when I was little. My grandmother would sing it all the time, and she was in love with Ricardo. I never knew that he danced like that. Thanks for posting.

  • NICE post!! Your videos are a real education for me, you know. I'd NO IDEA that Mr. Montalban has such nice MOVES!!:)

  • So happy for people to see him other than that critter from "Star Trek," or in the infamous "white suit!" Mr. M had some serious moves and, happily, both he and Jane are still with us!

Thanks for your comment wonderful friend.

  • Personally I don't dislike him as Mr. Roarke, but I'd already watched several movies of him before; the first one was "Sombrero" (I was twelve), on TV, and I became his fan since then. Either playing a good guy or a villain, it's always a pleasure watching him. And I agree with you, varadero, Ricardo and Jane (beautiful voice!!) are still with us and may God give still them many years of good health!

  • Even though he had a career before the "infamous white suit"...It was the infamous "white suit" that introduced a lot of us to Senor Montalban...And I must say, I'm glad...It's been great to be able to "discover" his other talents such as dancing and singing. Thank you for posting these..

  • No, the thanks is yours for your beautiful comment! It's true about the "white suit" for a certain generation. Grateful to you for your having noticed these little clips, and just to know what an incredible talent he'd always posessed!

  • @misheemom : I agree. I was just a kid...and I mean KID when 'Fantasy Island' came out (I think I was in the third grade) and just fell in love with that show. It was one of the few that parents would let me stay up late for. I'd never heard of Ricardo Montalban before that. Class....real class.

  • @wiccanlove1 Yeah, I was in grade school too when I first saw the show. When it didn't scare me, I loved it. (Actually I loved it even when it scared me.) I had a crush on him even then! LOL!
