  • Those was an explendid selection. Thanks to bring up so many good memories

  • As Lawrence Welk would say, "Vonderfoal, Vonderfoal, Vonderfoal". Pepe Le Pew -- I wish I was a skunk so I could spray horrible smells on my enemies list. Richard Nixon had an enemies list -- he should have his own cartoon series with Elvis as his Superman Secret Service Agent. I don't recall any porcupine cartoons -- can you imagine being able to spray endless needles at your enemies? Oh WOW.

  • Thanks for making this video. It brought me back memories of when i was a kid in the 90s and they still aired most of these cartoons on the old Cartoon Network. Now adays, it's just make random shapes, make 3 different versions of the same cartoon and cancel the ones that no one watches at all.

The latest generation of kids would be doing so much better. Not all of this, Hana Montana, Justin Bieber, XBOX, PS3, Mily Cyrus, Beyonce, etc crap that they air and THINK is what kids want.

  • These are much as characters of the 1960's than cartoons of the 1960's.

  • this needed diffrent music.

  • What! No Suave wa fare, Slow Poke Rodriguez or Hillbilly bears, or Hillbilly cat & mouse- DROOPY DOG!!!! C"MON! WAS fairly complete tho,,, AHHH.. The Ant eater!

  • Best of Best.

    Cartoon Characters.

  • Thanks for stroll down memory lane... Saturday mornings were the best... Could've chose different music but great none the less... Keep em coming!

  • justice league was a cartoon in the 60s?

  • @jamiepennix30 Yes but that is the incorrect Justice League. The one in the picture came out this century.

  • boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo spiderman

  • Now i know where my bro got the t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-that's all folks!

  • 2:15-2:19 HAS JERRY BEEN PLAYING ON THE INTERNET? HE HAS THE AWESOME FACE ON XD

  • It's 6:46 a.m. on a cool Las Vegas morning...there's daylight, but the sun hasn't come up yet...Me...I'm here in the physical, but this video with it's timely music and pictures have transported my mind back to Chicago, in the sixties, on Saturday and Sunday mornings when my brother and I (we thought getting up at 6am on a school day was an impossibility, and couldn't be done) , are the only ones up at our house, watching what seemed then like a neverending cartoon festival...Thank you.

  • they left out "Ricochet Rabbit"! He was my first favorite cartoon character.

  • thanks for the memories.now i know my age!

  • i'm sorry but mighty mouse was from like the 30s

  • @SlapstickCoyote Read the full description of the video!

  • @SlapstickCoyote Not to mention Casper the Friendly Ghost was from the 30s too.

  • @SlapstickCoyote No Mighty Mouse wasn't from the 30's,,you're thinking of Mickey Mouse

  • @beachintl1 they were both from the 30s & 40s learn your cartoons

  • Comment removed

  • @dethklok745 19 - you don't have to be as old as something to know how old it is

  • @SlapstickCoyote, MIghty Mouse came from the '40s,

  • @vividwatch47 i know

  • @SlapstickCoyote Yeah but back then you only saw the cartoons at the movie theatre there was no TV then.

It was a TV show in the 60's

  • @455Transam read the title of the video "CARTOONS OF THE 60s" Regardless of what screens they were on, it was a cartoon from the 40s in the theatre, after its run, it reran all the way through the 70s on tv, until John K rebooted it in the 90s on tv. whats your point?

  • @SlapstickCoyote You're "like" wrong too. Mighty Mouse first appearence was in 1944 by Terrytoon Cartoons. Many of these cartoons were not from the 60's

  • @yocuzz100 i'm not wrong, i said it originated in the 40s, dilbert.

  • A great time to be a little kid...

  • oh man, peanuts <3

  • YOU FORGOT "WOODYWOOD PECKER, CLUTCH CARGO, FELIX THE CAT, ETC!

  • I like Classic Cartoons. I like the Classic Porky Pig at the end of this clip. The Flintstones is a real classic cartoon.

  • Amazing how most of the 60's cartoons made it to the 80's Saturday lineup when I was a kid. Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo are still around !

  • you don't have to watch this guy's crappy slide show, i'm re-watching entire episodes right here on youtube

  • We were so blessed to have grown up in the 60's! The world was a much better place to live. The cartoons were wonderful. Thanks for the great memories!

  • Hey what happen to Space Ghost, Mighty Mightor, The Herculoids, and Shazzan?

  • Thanks for the memories!!!

  • the art in the cartoons of the past was wayyy better it seems to be todays art sucks every thing looks surreal an crazy,, i love vintage cartoons they were an still are thee best!

  • People, please help me out on this one: I am trying to remember a lesser-known cartoon from the 1960's, maybe very early 60's or 50's about a cat and it had some really cool music to it like the Stray Cats band of the 80's (that style of music). The cartoon wasn't really popular and didn't have a slick commercial look to it; it was dark, grainy, almost spooky, but very cool (at least that's how remember it when I was a kid). It wasn't Felix the Cat, not Top Cat, (earlier) What was it? Thanks!

  • @UTubist512 could of it been frady cat

  • @spider19990506 I got it! It's Courageous Cat; thanks anyway!

  • @UTubist512 Hi. You are the only person besides me. who I have ever seen comment on Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse. It is one of my favorites, the way those two get along great, the similarities with Batman (both created by Bob Kane), and the cheerful attitude of Minute Mouse, all great.

  • @UTubist512 It might have been Cool McCool

  • i was born in the 90s and if i had a time machine i would ve defenatly chosen the 60s

  • Nicely done. Smart writing and artful frames that still evoke the magic of a wonderful time long ago. I regret you forgot to mention Hal Seeger's "The Milton the Monster Show", a favorite of mine.

  • Excellent video. I prepared one today, similar to this, but I forgot some.

  • This brings back soooo many memories. What is the name of the first song playing?

  • @kdickson2000 That's called Traces by the Classics IV.

  • gawd I remember all of them... I must be old..:( great post thx for the memories :)

  • thats awsome. I was born in 1979, so i got to see all those older cartoons and when the 80s rolled bye the newer stuff like thunder cats, transformers, and gi joe.

  • good times

  • exelente de verdad no se como hay 9 personas que no les gusta esto definitivamente encaja en mi infancia

  • @MrShadowxtreme AGREED!

  • oh i miss the old days... my favorite is Tom & Jerry, theyre still on and make me laugh

  • i love Hey Rocky... oh his antlers...

  • Saturday used to be golden 6 hrs cartoons and 7-8hrs of running & jumping with my friends then we discovered girls excuse me while i go and kill my wife!

  • Errrrr ,where's Marine boy?

  • @TORCHY62 He drowned! lol

  • @AmberWaves444 you forgot astro boy

  • Thanx!

  • oh man I remember almost every one of these, ty for posting.

  • I was born in 1985 and recognize every one almost. Amazing!!!

  • Mighty Mouse was remade in the 80's (along with others),But what was it he(M.M) did in the 80's that he never did before ??? Any guesses???

  • Saturdays nor Sundays will NEVER be the same again. NEVER. EVER. I don't give a shit what Justin Bieber says, I will say NEVER.

  • ahahahaha <3 the ending

    porky your awesome ;)

  • Nice job. But "Crusader Rabbit" and Hashimoto the mouse? Love it!

  • AWESOME!!! I absolutely loved it. Great job and thanks for the memories. :-)

  • So many characters to cover in 5:47. Naturally, there were a whole bunch more but you did a great job mentioning so many, and many of my favourites too.

  • Great video! But where's Felix the Cat? Did I miss him? You did get the very best, other than that. :)

  • @kat3dev , I think Felix the Cat would be considered a 50's cartoon show with reruns sometimes in the '60's. Actually Felix was one of the really old cartoons from much earlier than that, but shown in the movie theaters.

  • Comment removed

  • i wasa born in the 90's but i still spent each weekend watching these

  • Im 11 and i love the beatles....U FORGOT THE BEATLES CARTOON!!! >:U

  • @pikafan21 You must have turned your head at the 3:55 mark of the video, that's the Beatles. I would never forget my fav group of all time!

  • @AmberWaves444 at 5:27 Justice League does not belong. In the 60's there was Justice League of America and the Adventures of Batman and Robin. I guess you didn't have them and used Justice League instead.

  • @pikafan21 - Yes, indeed. We used to watch the Beatles cartoons at slumber parties. Great memories. Best Wishes to you.

  • Hat's off to the late Dennis Yost & The Classics IV. This is so cool. You might be surprised how many of us baby boomers watch the cartoon channel. Love the music and video's. Back in a time when entertainment was based on talent and not foul language.

  • This stuff was well written and above all; FUN ! ! ! It developed A kids attention span with plot developement, etc. The few "kidvid" content shows of now is obsessed with "political correctness" and other social engineering(brainwashing).

  • it seems at around 2005, cartoons started to die. all the good ones left, and stupid ones came in.

  • whats with the music????blech!!!

  • @keithehlert

If you don't like the tunes then maybe you should go to the lady gagga or justin bieber channels. As for your opinion about the music, maybe you'll notice that no one really cares about it.

"The empty can rattles the most."

    =)

  • i don't know if this was in the 60's or not but i used to like watching a cartoon called Grovy Goulies. Also some title called Phantom...something it was a show where there was a ghost pirate but he was a scatter-brained ghost and he had a ghost cat. He was with a group of kids like the Scooby doo group

  • @Randyicdl I read you post and believe it or not, the show was titled "Funky Phantom"...

  • Nice list, but you miss a couple of good ones (unless I miss it)

    The Impossibles (1966)

    Frankenstein Jr (1966)

    Moby Dick (1967)

  • Mom used to laugh uncontrollably when I did the "muttley" laugh. ;])

  • Man, we had it great back then compared to the kids of today. I don't recall Gigantor but does anyone else remember Heckle and Jeckyl the two crows or Augie Doggie? There was also GoGo Gophers, The Mighty Hercules, Mister Peabody and Sherman from Rocky and Bullwinkle. Oh just so many of them to choose and watch! The cartoons of our youth could still stand the test of time today for sure!

  • Yeah, what ever happened to Sat. morning cartoons? Sat. used to be something you really looked forward to as a kid. Not anymore. Sad. We were lucky to grow up in this era of cartoons and tv.

  • More really great entertainment!! I mean, what do the kids have today? This was true entertainment!! Great music background as well! Something else lacking today. Well done, and great ending. Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!! LMBO!!

  • @4rHim I think in a later episode he finally did pull that rabbit out of his hat! lol

  • Those where the days! And the song in the first half, OH MY! So........So many memories, traces of love.......long ago.........just traces of memories......bye, bye.

  • your 60's toon tribute is awesome!... I don't care for the newer toons. Give me the old ones!!

  • Hey I think you forgot Casper the Friendly Ghost!

  • Absolutely wonderful!!! Thanks for the memories. A few more you may consider if you ever update or make an encore vid. Colonel Bleep started in 1957 (first cartoon made for TV), although episodes were made well into the 1960s. Rocket Robin Hood, Captain Planet and Space Mouse ... yes, I'm a space cadet. ;-} Don't recall seeing Huckleberry Hound or Underdog, but I could have missed it.

  • To finish my post (character limit): Although several of the cartoons in your vid were actually produced in the 1930s, 1940s and beyond -- perfectly fine -- the common thread is if you were growing up in the sixties, like I was, we watched them all after school and on Saturday mornings. Decades before the PC Police showed up and took them off regular and cable TV. Agree with many postings -- cartoons today are inane babble and poorly drawn garbage by comparison ...

  • Speed Racer like, introduced Americans to Asian badassedness...and also terrible dub overs

  • Where's Clutch Cargo, Baby Huey, Q.T. Hush, Squeek and Scratch(the outer space cavemen), The Mighty Hercules, The Mighty Heroes, Tom Slick, The Alvin Show, Screwy Squirrel, Deputy Dawg, Pixie and Dixie, Clyde Crashcup, Ruff and Ready w/Prof.Gizmo and Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley?? I'm sure there's more...

  • @TheGigmiester101 King Kong:)

  • classic cartoons, brilliant, part of a memorable 80s childhood. Certainly they don't make them this like these any more.

  • I know all those cartoons except "Gigantor"; somehow I missed that one.

  • man i miss real cartoons i hate these japense animated cartoons now and what happened to cartoon network that used to be the shiznit fresh super fresh

  • Wow, sure brought back memories of good times, thanks for posting! Wonder how many voices Mel Blanc did?

  • Wow, sure brought back memories of good times, thanks for posting!

  • Forgot Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose, and that whole gang.

  • @57highland You need to re-watch, no I didn't, they are all from 4:31 thru 4:44.

  • @AmberWaves444 Heckle and Jeckle?

  • @DarthSideous63

    agreed

  • Saturday mornings were very special back in the day..I feel sorry for modern kids in that they missed those times.

  • Tears of joy for childhood. ^_^

  • dude that was not the original Justice league i remember they had AQUA MAN with and he is so lame xD I mean how much crime does happen under water

  • what songs are these??? they are in the key of nostalgia.

  • you said the characters of looney toones its called cartoons of the 60s not cartoon characters from the 60s. im confused

  • Some of them I said: '' Theres a TV show for that?!?!?!'' Like The Cat in the Hat and Speed Racer

  • i love 3:55

  • Somebody can tell me the name of the cartoon and name of a silly mouse with a hat accompanied by a mute green worm with big round glasses?

  • @artwebon It was a WBcarton mouse called sniffles. I cant recall the worms name

  • I must have been a cartoon addict in the 1960's ... out of about 44 cartoons shown, there was only one I can't recall (Gigantor).

  • underdog needs 2 lose some weight lol

  • Whoa! My entire childhood from age 4 to 13 just flashed before my eyes! Thanks for the memories. Very nice choice of tunes also.

  • @caryzia : Actually SCOOBY-DOO *DID* get his start in the 60's. He made his debut in 1969. As of Sept 2011, he & the Mystery, Inc. minions will be 42 this year..

  • @caryzia I would rather have Scooby Doo then the vile trash that is poison to childrens minds today. At least Scoob and the gang were on the side of good and always won out against evil in the end.No disrespect, thats just my opinion.Thank You.

  • :( no astro boy

  • Boomerang

  • roise looks like shes hitting georges ass

  • then if you forgot casper, re-do the video adding casper.

  • hi

  • @princeeez Hello!

  • OUTSTANDING

  • . . .with all due respect and lots of thanks you forgot peter pottomus. . .

  • Sisco Kid on Sunday @ 6 AM.....Oh Sico...Oh Poncko....=)

Yeah. I know it's not a cartoon but it was part of my childhood....Great memories. Thanks....=)

  • veng: hell, i was born in feb 1st 1993 and i still remember watching like 3/4s of these things :L

  • You guys forgot woody woodpecker-_-

  • God, i really wish they could make a channel just for old cartoon its the only cartoon i can watch

  • I love your cartoon choices! They need ot bring back good old fashion cartoon violence and witty humor!

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you fortaking me back to a time where there were no morgages to worry about, car insurance, and all the great joys that come with adulthood. Honestly for a good minute I was back in child hood, Thank you, you now have me thinking of the banana splits.

  • i thought that Spiderman was in the early 50s.

  • @justinbeberROKS99 no you're wrong spider-man wasnt even in existence until 1962

  • @crazyguy980 its called 60s with an s it doesnt have to be 1960 only. it can be from 1961, 1962(hint), 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, or 1969. but not 1970! XD

  • @m9panther no because that guy said he thought spidey was from the 50s jackass

  • What about Milton the Monster, Go Go Gophers, Super Chicken, Dudley Do Right, and ping, ping, ping Ricochet Rabbit, (Tom Terrific best all time villain: Crabby Appleton). Beany and Cecil started in Black and White but I think in was in color in the 60's and wasn't the Archies in the late 60's?

  • Love the song with the cartoon collage---LMAO! This is great!

  • @DarthSideous63 I think he meant Super Friends. Justice League is the newer version.

  • @CASteel1 The Superfriends was the 70's. There was a Justice League of America in the 60's

  • @DarthSideous63 - you are correct.

  • Nice vid, but the Popeye you show is from the 1940's. There were updated versions. The Flintstones were on Friday nights, not Saturday morning until the Pebbles and Bam Bam show in the 70's. Dasterdly and Mutly were part of the Wacky Racers cartoon show. Peanuts only had their holiday shows, no Saturday morning show.
