@bhbhbh01 ebough with Petrucci he isn't anything special ...so many people praising him as some lord -he is just a guitarist - u can find someone better easy
@toasterbread87 yes but never would take him over satriani - satriani built his unique tone and style while Petrucci sound can be easily copied because it is not original
Joe is no joke...He's been around a while and is a real Guitar Player for sure and on top of that he's the type of guy you don't mind having a beer or 3 with.....
Idk what else to say but THANK YOU JOE! THANK YOU...
I had this bump on my wrist for the longest and I just looked it up to find that I have a cyst...
I was totally bummed because it made playing guitar kinda difficult and it's my dream to play in a band with my bud and this sharp pain comes in everytime I play...
I practice a few of these techniques for an hour each, through the pain and it's beginning to subside...
he knows all his scales and theory, but you can still make it rock without that knowledge and still be a great player. I doubt Hendrix knew about modes or all the intervals names etc
@Gonzoidz While your assertion is accurate, you're mistaken about Hendrix. Next time you make that argument go with Slash. He can't even read sheet music. Cheers. =)
@Gonzoidz There's a documentary movie about Hendrix that uses a lot of recorded conversations with him. Can't remember what it's called but I'm sure you can find it if you google "Hendrix Documentaries"....anywho, in it he talks about the difficulties he had learning modes and scales when he was younger. Yeah, I never read Slash's book, but I remember when Appetite for Destruction came out, there was a Rolling Stone article where he talked about his lack of any formal knowledge.
Unless you can give me the direct link I just don't believe Hendrix knew about modes, if he did he didn't use them. I play a whole load of his stuff and it's blues based. It means so little though, he used the full twelve notes of the octave although it was centred on pentatonic.
dont judge me mf i been trying for 10 years i suck its nothing to do with attitude its a simple matter of ability and accepting that i just dont cut it at that level !
i tried this for ages , my pinky wont go were i want it, my pinky sucks, look at the size of his pinky its almost the same size as his middle finger, i suck so bad im giving up !
Correct they do! Its difficult to not play the guitar when someone asks how you do something, its hard to just talk but Satriani gets the balance here. He's confident and knows very well what he's talking about.
@racheguitarrist I guess that is because he is such a genuine person. I can just listen him talk or even look at him holding his guitar and that inspires me.
You can repeat anything with enough careful study and repetive exercise.
This is probably aimed at people with previous guitar experience, obviously you can't immediately pick up a guitar and instantly be awesome. It requires time, dedication, and endless practise and frustration.
I personally found this useful.
Also, I love Joe's style, but I think Yngwie Malmsteen is a little bit better. =]
Also, English, please! Don't make me google translate some epic spiel in Italian. I don't even speak Italian. Come at me with some German or Japanese, I might have been bothered.
I tried being nice, giving positive encouragement, but you just proved your type isn't worth praise or encouragement.
