Hey man, your videos are very helpful but I am just wondering what would be the best headphone for $120 that has the best sound quality but is portable and not with like a massive cord etc. Also I am thinking of buying the Urbanears Platton headphones for $60 or the Marshall Major heaphones for $110. I am just wondering if you have tested them whether the Marshall Majors are worth double the price than the Urbanears Platton?
@OwnDiZzL3 Thanks for ur suggestion ^^ hahha Im not that rich, i cant ave two of those headphones, since i keep going out, ill think ill get the Audio Technica ATH-PRO700LTD GOLD. Or are the ATH-M50 btter?

@OwnDiZzL3 Hey good review, I was thinking of buying either the Sennheiser HD25-1 ii, AKG181 or Phiaton MS400 for listening to trance and electronica could you give me any advice as to which would have the best bass mids and highs out of the 3 ive mentioned, many thanks.
@OwnDiZzL3 Hey cheers I think I will get the Sennheiser HD25 then, oh one glaring omission from your line up of portable cans has to be the AKG K518, they are highly regarded over at headfi and are very reasonably priced :-)

I was also considering the Phiaton MS 400 and AKG K181DJ that you mentioned. How do those all compare?
@yawnykid I'd recommend you go the custom IEM route and get the JH5 Pro. Hopefully you are atleast 18 years of age though. If not, stick with universal IEM's or headphones. For your situation, get the Westone 3's.
@OwnDiZzL3 I'm not a minor so there's no problem with that.
Why the JH5's over the 3's? I do like the idea of the customs because I find the universals awkward, but as I understood it the sound in the 5's is a bit more directed to my listening preference. Also are the 5's built to last? The 3's at least come with that halfback warranty.

@OwnDiZzL3 Wow, well thank you very much. You saved me from buying a pair of pro model beats. I think I'll go with the JH 5s, I really do want something that can handle everything beautifully. As long as the bass is there and powerful, I'm happy. Down the road I'll look at one of the power houses like the Westone ES5. I certainly hope those are worth 3 times the money.
Hey man I have a few questions about the JH13 and westone ES5, how long have you had them? In terms of durability, I listen to music on average of 3 hours per day during my commute to college, but I have a big problem with alot of my in ear-earphones wearing out or the connection will tear either at the jack or at the ear piece to wire connection.
Also, did you have to get your ears cleaned b4 hand?
@strdr I've had the Westone ES5 for 9 months and the JH13 Pro for 1 year and the cables that came with them from day 1 still work perfectly fine. Also, if the cables do happen to fail due they are user replaceable anyways. If your ears have too much earwax in them then yes they will need to clean your ears out before making your earmolds. That isn't free by the way. I didn't have that problem because I clean my ears frequently.
My last question, if you dont mind :) Why is it that you find the ES5 better than the JH13? When the JH13 has although seemingly small difference of one more driver and a bit of difference in impedance and frequency response.
It seems to me you have a major bias towards JH audio. And your best of best recommendations does not include headphones only earbuds. but good review overall
I do have a quick question though, i currently own the grado sr325i's i was wondering how you think those compare with the Akg k701, the sennheiser HD650's
and one more thing...how do you think the HD800's compare with the gs1000i and the ps1000
@5196Burnett Once again, I didn't include headphones in the best of the best because they require a AMPLIFIER. Amplifiers aren't a great thing to carry around if portability is your first priority. The K701, HD650, PS1000 and HD800 all require a dedicated home amplifier to unleash their potential. Plugging them into an iPod is the equivalent of driving a F1 car on normal gasoline with normal street tires.
@5196Burnett The SR325i's can stand up to the K701's and HD650 but the latters are slightly better technically. The K701 will have a bigger soundstage and slightly better detail than the HD650 while the HD650 will have a more musical and smoother sound than the K701. I haven't heard the SR325i's, so can't really compare them. Between the HD800's, GS1000i and PS1000 I'd just get the HD800's.
Ok ive decided I'm getting these. The only problem is it seems that all of these good reviews has swayed sellers to up their price. This below or around $100 price tag seems to be a myth. I did however find some $60 bootleg versions. At least the seller was completely honest about it.
In your suggestions you say that the ath m50 has the best sub bass yet I've watched a few reviews on these headphones on youtube and everyone else describes the overall sound as neutral and the bass as punchy but "heavy".
What's your input?
I wanted some good sounding bass heavy headphones similar to how Beats By Dre are described as.
@SleptOn When they described the bass as punchy but heavy, what they mean is the bass is the most prominent and is impactful. My input is that these sound better than the Beats Studio at 1/3rd the price. You won't regret buying it.
hi, what do you think of the Sony MDR XB700 with their 50mm drivers? would be really helpful if you could tell me and is there a better alternative for that price? thanks.
thanks for the details was gonna get beats br dre studio prolly going with Phiaton 400 now, very informative, btw not trolling but the video sounded a little to scripted;p
love the video though most typed reviews r filled with trolls and fan-boy's and spent hours and got no where till i found this;p
i would recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Headphones for anyone looking for headphones in the 300-350 price range. these headphones are the best i have hear for the price.
@Haskeo They're great headphones, but they're more suitable for home use. They're simply too big for a portable solution. Also, they require a powerful dedicated amplifier due to their low sensitivity.
Great Video ,I subbed Thx alot ^^ .Im not a crazy audiophile like you but :P but I think im going to get the M50S since my budget is around 100 and I listen to everything but mostly Electro/Progressive House, Trance , Dub/Dubstep and Old school rap !
@Defect8 What's your budget? A great upgrade to th M50's in my opinion would be the Denon AH-D5000 or the Ultrasone HFI-780. The latter being more iPod friendly.
@OwnDiZzL3 Around $250. The Ultrasone looks promising, but I kinda want the whole package--i.e., comfort, great sound, and looks badass. I wanted to convince myself to like the Phiaton MS 400 cuz it looks hot, but I've read reviews that say they're a bit snug on the ears.
@Defect8 The snug fit maybe just because it's new. Usually, when headphones have a tight fit on your head out of the box, they gradually loosen up after usage. I don't think these headphones have a permanent uncomfortably tight fit. If so, I wouldn't have placed them in this video. =)
I am looking for a set of over the ear headphones and i was looking at the Phiaton ms 400's and i was wondering do they leak as much sound as the Beats Studio do?
Hello. Recently i have been looking to get some over ear headphones. I want style, Vocals, and clear sounds plus noticable but not overpowering bass. my price range is 250$ and less, i have been looking into either the skullcandy sk pro carbons or Dre Beats studio. Suggestions it is a very hard choice for me I listen to alot of music the music i listen to is usually Rock/metal/punk, loud and instumental, also i listen to alot of techno and some pop i want something that u can here all sounds.
Thanks for all the help your very informative and on the phiaton is the cord removable? and is it good quality or would it be a good investment to get a better cord
@trapp444 You're very welcome. The Phiaton's cord unfortunately isn't removable, but it's a very high quality cord. Like with every expensive electronic device, take very good care of it and it will last long. The Phiaton and Beats have a similar sound signature but the Phiaton's sound more natural and realistic. Both are very stylish headphones.
@trapp444 I have looked into the Phiaton. is the cord removable? also what are like compared to beats studio? thanks for all the help very informative.
@popelmaster123 The Denon AH-D2000, but they're headphones that should be used for home use due to their big size. Another worthy recommendation is the Phiaton MS400. I would really recommend you get the Westone 3 which is a earphone but the bass is AMAZING!
@austbart Try the AKG K181DJ, it's doesn't have an active noise cancellation feature but it blocks out around the same noise as one. Also, it has a bass control switch on it.
@IkeWheeler29 The Sennheiser HD25? I wouldn't exercise with headphones at all. Earphones? Yea. Or atleast clip on's or behind the ears, but their sound quality isn't the first priority. I would stick with the earphones.
@proent Earphones are actually safer. Since they block out a ton of outside noise, you tend to listen to your music at lower volumes because you don't have to fight outside noise. Portable-wise, custom IEM's are the best you can get for your money in terms of sound. Home-wise, custom IEM's are still a great option but Full sized headphones offer a better listening experience.
@Brudof Try the Denon AH-D1001, Creative Aurvana Live or Audio Technica M50. These are all small and portable headphones that can be taken outside and you won't look like a goof ball. lol.
@chopstar420 These are terrific all-around cans engineered by a world-class maker and bound to please those purchasing their first high-end headphone.
@willsteph1 Why don't you try IEM's? They're basically earphones that go deep into your ear and block out more noise than any noise cancellation headphone. Also, they're comfortable and come with a wider variety of tips to help fit your ear.

tenjinnim 1 year ago
@tenjinnim Those are great IEM's, I would have included a lot more IEM's and headphones; but the video would have been SUPER long! =)

@OwnDiZzL3
Also, did you have to get your ears cleaned b4 hand?
strdr 7 months ago
@strdr I've had the Westone ES5 for 9 months and the JH13 Pro for 1 year and the cables that came with them from day 1 still work perfectly fine. Also, if the cables do happen to fail due they are user replaceable anyways. If your ears have too much earwax in them then yes they will need to clean your ears out before making your earmolds. That isn't free by the way. I didn't have that problem because I clean my ears frequently.
OwnDiZzL3 7 months ago
@OwnDiZzL3
My last question, if you dont mind :) Why is it that you find the ES5 better than the JH13? When the JH13 has although seemingly small difference of one more driver and a bit of difference in impedance and frequency response.
strdr 7 months ago
@strdr I find that the Westone ES5 sounds more realistic.
OwnDiZzL3 7 months ago
It seems to me you have a major bias towards JH audio. And your best of best recommendations does not include headphones only earbuds. but good review overall
I do have a quick question though, i currently own the grado sr325i's i was wondering how you think those compare with the Akg k701, the sennheiser HD650's
and one more thing...how do you think the HD800's compare with the gs1000i and the ps1000
5196Burnett 1 year ago
@5196Burnett Once again, I didn't include headphones in the best of the best because they require a AMPLIFIER. Amplifiers aren't a great thing to carry around if portability is your first priority. The K701, HD650, PS1000 and HD800 all require a dedicated home amplifier to unleash their potential. Plugging them into an iPod is the equivalent of driving a F1 car on normal gasoline with normal street tires.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago

SleptOn 1 year ago
In your suggestions you say that the ath m50 has the best sub bass yet I've watched a few reviews on these headphones on youtube and everyone else describes the overall sound as neutral and the bass as punchy but "heavy".
What's your input?
I wanted some good sounding bass heavy headphones similar to how Beats By Dre are described as.
SleptOn 1 year ago
@SleptOn When they described the bass as punchy but heavy, what they mean is the bass is the most prominent and is impactful. My input is that these sound better than the Beats Studio at 1/3rd the price. You won't regret buying it.

@dbcooper300 They are great studio headphones with a balanced frequency response.

@JayJay12077 No, they don't have a detachable cord, but the cord is of above average quality.

i would recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Headphones for anyone looking for headphones in the 300-350 price range. these headphones are the best i have hear for the price.
Haskeo 1 year ago
@Haskeo They're great headphones, but they're more suitable for home use. They're simply too big for a portable solution. Also, they require a powerful dedicated amplifier due to their low sensitivity.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
Great Video ,I subbed Thx alot ^^ .Im not a crazy audiophile like you but :P but I think im going to get the M50S since my budget is around 100 and I listen to everything but mostly Electro/Progressive House, Trance , Dub/Dubstep and Old school rap !

Any experience with Audio-technica's ATH-A900? Was very happy with my ath-m50's and would like to upgrade.
Defect8 1 year ago
@Defect8 What's your budget? A great upgrade to th M50's in my opinion would be the Denon AH-D5000 or the Ultrasone HFI-780. The latter being more iPod friendly.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
@OwnDiZzL3 Around $250. The Ultrasone looks promising, but I kinda want the whole package--i.e., comfort, great sound, and looks badass. I wanted to convince myself to like the Phiaton MS 400 cuz it looks hot, but I've read reviews that say they're a bit snug on the ears.
Defect8 1 year ago
@Defect8 The snug fit maybe just because it's new. Usually, when headphones have a tight fit on your head out of the box, they gradually loosen up after usage. I don't think these headphones have a permanent uncomfortably tight fit. If so, I wouldn't have placed them in this video. =)

hey man,
Sweet videos they help.
I am looking for a set of over the ear headphones and i was looking at the Phiaton ms 400's and i was wondering do they leak as much sound as the Beats Studio do?
Thanks

@shneboski Nope, they won't leak as much sound.

@trapp444 You should really check out the Phiaton MS400.

thats what i was thinkin what are they like compared to dre beats studios? i watched your review and have used them in person?
trapp444 1 year ago
@OwnDiZzL3
Thanks for all the help your very informative and on the phiaton is the cord removable? and is it good quality or would it be a good investment to get a better cord
trapp444 1 year ago
@trapp444 You're very welcome. The Phiaton's cord unfortunately isn't removable, but it's a very high quality cord. Like with every expensive electronic device, take very good care of it and it will last long. The Phiaton and Beats have a similar sound signature but the Phiaton's sound more natural and realistic. Both are very stylish headphones.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
@trapp444 I have looked into the Phiaton. is the cord removable? also what are like compared to beats studio? thanks for all the help very informative.

i thought the studios by dre are good but your review isnt as good as i thought
i listened to them and thought they are really good
i need some headphones for techno...
base!
thx for answer...
popelmaster123 1 year ago
@popelmaster123 The Denon AH-D2000, but they're headphones that should be used for home use due to their big size. Another worthy recommendation is the Phiaton MS400. I would really recommend you get the Westone 3 which is a earphone but the bass is AMAZING!

im looking for a pair of over the ear, noise cancelling, good bass and for a price range around 100$ ??
austbart 1 year ago
@austbart Try the AKG K181DJ, it's doesn't have an active noise cancellation feature but it blocks out around the same noise as one. Also, it has a bass control switch on it.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
Koss Porto Pro or Grado 60 or Grado *)
how do you compare
kevinpatrickfarley 1 year ago
@kevinpatrickfarley I'd choose the Grado 60.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
@IkeWheeler29 The Sennheiser HD25? I wouldn't exercise with headphones at all. Earphones? Yea. Or atleast clip on's or behind the ears, but their sound quality isn't the first priority. I would stick with the earphones.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
Best earphones are the shure se530x8 by unique melody.
Xx1Anaxagoras1xX 1 year ago
@Xx1Anaxagoras1xX Won't call them 'the' best. Maybe, one of the best.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
I didn't think earbuds would be considered the best, interesting.. Careful listening to music too loud..
proent 1 year ago
@proent Earphones are actually safer. Since they block out a ton of outside noise, you tend to listen to your music at lower volumes because you don't have to fight outside noise. Portable-wise, custom IEM's are the best you can get for your money in terms of sound. Home-wise, custom IEM's are still a great option but Full sized headphones offer a better listening experience.
OwnDiZzL3 1 year ago
hey, which one is better. ATH M50 or AIAIAI TMA-1? price doesn't matter for me

i need earphones that cancel out the music from outside, and that i can find at like a best buy or future shop!. or some other place!
willsteph1 1 year ago
@willsteph1 Why don't you try IEM's? They're basically earphones that go deep into your ear and block out more noise than any noise cancellation headphone. Also, they're comfortable and come with a wider variety of tips to help fit your ear.
