  • I hope I build Maia Luna a <6 aprox 30 gallon surf/steep river yak cross (planing hull with fin boxes, hard chine under seat and at tail but with a voluminous hull and deck that shed water); sadly there are no commercial designs suitable for 2year 5 year old 20lb 50lb paddlers. At age two Maia Luna glided blissfully down upper Hyalite creek (immediately above reservoir) in my steep river boat as I ran on foot beside her. If she can have a vessel more appropriately proportioned

  • Presumably Elizabeth is Andrews daughter. I immensely enjoy(d) Andrews book Fast & Cold. The vast majority of technical water that I have paddled I too went solo. I am excited to lean that Andrewss love of flowing water was shared with and nurtured by Liz. My daughter (now 4) and I shared many excursions on nearby rivers seasons past. She (Maia Luna) is mostly in it for the sandy beaches now; but I suspect her attachment will deepen.

  • Nice canyon... Timmy needs a new helmet....
