@systris Why don't you just admit you support the wars now because your man is in office. Obama is basically a more intelligent and refined version of Bush's third term. Regarding the social programs you speak of, Paul is the only one that hasn't vote to spend any of the money in there and is the only one who has a plan to pay for the social programs (by ending the wars oversees) without printing the money in thin air and debasing the currency.

People on the left, let me point something out. The president does not really have all that much effect on social or economic policy, that is the realm of Congress. However the president, being the commander in chief, can end the war IMMEDIATELY, on his own, without congressional approval.

I voted for the president and wanted him to succeed with the platform he proposed in his campaign. Since then it has become increasingly clear that he cannot or will not follow up on some of the key planks in that platform. The one area he has followed up on is rapidly becoming his Vietnam, and that of course, is the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan. So you're saying that a US President who wants to honor the Declaration of Independence, obey and follow a strict and rigid interpretation of the US Constiution and the Bill of Rights; restore financial stability and individual Liberty and Freedom for US citizens will "finish" the country? That would be the finest moment in history for the US: to be "finished" by pursuing and re-affirming the government originally established by the Founding Fathers.

fine Congressman Paul wants an end to the war... but his social policy ideologies suck. when libertarians have answers that include everyone in america and not just about protecting their own selfish interests maybe i'll listen. otherwise they are no better or worse than the other movements making noise in american political discourse

@systris Why don't you just admit you support the wars now because your man is in office. Obama is basically a more intelligent and refined version of Bush's third term. Regarding the social programs you speak of, Paul is the only one that hasn't vote to spend any of the money in there and is the only one who has a plan to pay for the social programs (by ending the wars oversees) without printing the money in thin air and debasing the currency.

@systris I guess that's the main difference between the Left and the Libertarians. Most libertarians consider the war the most important issue. Speaking for myself, I'd even vote for a progressive that was seriously anti war, even if I disagreed with most of his policies. If he was hell bent on ending the war like Ron Paul, I'd give them my vote. The left for the most part rather vote for Obama..Rhetoric is more important than action, and the war seems like a secondary or 3rd issue now..

At 13:08, Dr. Paul starts talking about Threat Theory, an offshoot of Game Theory. I've been using that argument for a long time, but this is the first time I've actually seen him use it. I wish I had the entire interview. Thanks for putting this together. Very well done.

even if hes not chosen as the GOP candidate, you can still put his name ON THE BALLOT as a write-in vote. i think thats how its done,you can look it up. so if all his supporters write-in his name, he can still win even if the GOP refuse him.(thumb this up so others will know)

@alexandria211 if the GOP rejects him, i think he will go third party this time around since it is his last chance to run for president. The libertarian party will surely put him on thier ballot as they tried in 08 when Bob Barr and the party said he would step aside if Paul ran on their ticket. That said, getting people aware of the write in vote is a good , just know that only certain states will count the write ins because the candidate has to declare themselves as a write in for it to count

People on the left, let me point something out. The president does not really have all that much effect on social or economic policy, that is the realm of Congress. However the president, being the commander in chief, can end the war IMMEDIATELY, on his own, without congressional approval.
If you want the war to end, support Ron Paul, even if you don't necessarily agree with him on economic or social issues.

Ron paul is not a progressive.... I don't know where you're getting that information. Does your mind work like this:
conservative = war, guns, life, god
liberal = hippie, gays, pot, taxes
You should look up "Libertarian" on wikipedia. It should clear a lot of things up for you.
