The baby is a newborn and that`s why its so fascinated with everything.

The immigrant finds the things in that country very different then the once in his own country and thats why hes so fascinated.

The guy on mushrooms probably hallucinates and is in a different reality and thats why things look so beautiful to him :D

The cat is a dead ringer for Mr. Jinx from Pixie and Dixie and the Woman is a great throwback to the old Tom and Jerry cartoons where you only saw the humans legs. They even have classic construction site routine, it shows a great respect for classic cartoons!

I think you're mistaking the show TV Funhouse with the SNL shorts, Both made by the same guy, but this was from the Comedy Central show.

No, these animated shorts, produced by writer Robert Smigel, were called "TV Funhouse" on SNL. They included "Fun with Real Audio", "The Ambiguously Gay Duo", "The Baby, the Immigrant and the Guy on Mushrooms", "The Ex-Presidents", "Heter-Roy", among others.

There was also "TV Funhouse" featuring the Ani-Pals, which aired on Comedy Central. I think that was also produced by Smigel, and it featured Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, as one of the Ani-Pals, if I am not mistaken.

Really, the SNL TV Funhouse had The Baby, Immigrant, guy on mushrooms short? I've seen the other cartoons on SNL, but the one on Comedy Central is where I first saw this short and its sequel. TV Funhouse on comedy central had the same types of cartoons, but they were all originals, and not taken from the SNL shorts. Triumph was in two episodes, but was just a guest character.
