  • I use to have this phone, it was the worst phone I ever had,the touchscreen is not responsive, my first phone was a LG Optimus one (P500), my dad use to own this phone, but he gave it to me and started using a Galaxy Nexus instead, I switched over to a Motorola Droid RAZR and I am going to sell it for free.

  • @Retardday1 I gave away my U8100 for free as well, lol

  • Bad phone you get what you pay for. Like the features it had but Nexus blows it away for more money but it is enjoyable this is a pain. My touch screen died and phone is toast two weeks out of warranty so I didn't save money but got an inferior phone. Now have the Nexus much much much better.

  • mom:honey i got you a phone

  • It's like porn.

  • this phone or alcatel tribe?

  • yo does this phone have led flash or not.. I checked other sites and they say it does have flash but i have the phone and i dont see it

  • @ReddAlertt No LED flash....

  • is this phone decent?

  • @ryanshek96 It's okay

  • @ferrariguy25 wat are the cons ? and is it good for phone starters like first phone ?

  • @1288881 - If this is going to be your first phone, it will be okay if you're only going to be making calls. If you're planning to use it for web browsing, emails, text messages or anything else other than phone calls, you might find yourself charging it more than you use it.

  • @ferrariguy25 Oh ok well im using it for calls FB umm maybe games from android market but does it need internet for android market ?

  • @1288881 - You can access the Android Market if you have a data connection through your carrier or you are connected over a Wi-Fi connection.

  • how is the speed of it? I remember my htc g1 was very slow, but how responsive is this?

  • For a $150 phone, it's VERY fast, and it's because it runs stock android.

  • i have it i hate it. its SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITB

  • i hate it now and it's so laggy

    get a motorola bud!

  • I like this phone alot. Yeah it has its issues but I still enjoy it. I'm with Wind Canada currently and I have this phone. But my screen stopped working. Possibly because I've dropped it a million times. But still, now I have no clue what to do. I have a lock on my screen, but I can't unlock it because my screen won't read any finger movements. Now what shall I do? Any advice.. (besides getting a new phone)

  • So many dislikes, lol. So do you hate the video or the actual phone?

  • Useless "review".

  • @gary7vn

Tell me where in the title it says review? We will help you get over this reading disability, together :)

  • HOLY CRAP DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THIS PHONE IS GOOD,

    IT IS EXTREMELY LAGGY

IT HAS A SLOW 500 MHZ PROCESSOR ONLY

AND IT HAS A RESISTIVE NOT CAPACATIVE TOUCH SCREEN MEANING IT IS A "PUSH AND DRAG PHONE" NOT A "TOUCH AND SWIPE EASILY" PHONE

    HOLY CRAP THIS PHONE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Getting dis phone sooooon :D

  • like the music. . . . okay now its getting annoying. i have the same phone. my mom said it's kinda like the iphone(regular) because you get wifi and you have a 3.2 mega pixle camera . and 3.2 is good quality!

  • what firmware version is this running????????

  • @zahid194 Android 2.1

  • Clicked on video expecting a phone review. Music video pretending to be a phone review. Stopped video. Signed in (which I never do) for the explicit reason of giving this video a thumbs down. I only wish I could take back the view count I added to it.

  • @GuyUnderTheBridge

Did it say REVIEW in the title? Way to get your panties in a knot over nothing.

  • I keep reading comments about the phone's battery life, but how many hours does it last?

  • I just got this phone too, and it is also my first cellphone. The keyboard is not too bad for me. Side ways the keys are bigger for texting and it works fine. As long as you hold your finger down, you can slide it to the correct letter, and the auto-fill feature saves a bit of time from typing words.

My BIGGEST problems? Call volume, ringer volume, battery life, and a lousy 3.2MP camera w/ video. Other than that, for a non-data user it's fine.

  • @tasev1 Battery says will last 270 standby hours - in light use, dies in 24. Volume also a big issue - this could be fixed by an update.

  • qwerty

  • hows the MP3 quality on this?

  • i have been with wind for 6 months and i have the bb bold and i have never had a dropped call the only bad thing i think is when i leave van n go to richmond it puts me in the away zone but wind is slowly expanding so just be patient after all wind is the first pay as you go company to give you data unlike rogers bell and all those other money hungry jew companies wind respects the ppl that cant get plans for data rogers bell virgin and koodoo are racist assho;e companies so fuck them

  • my mom bought me this phone 2 months ago and i really do regret it, the phone is VERY VERY LAGGY its so slow and requires you to download a app to close down running things on your phone to speed it up a little, Also the keyboard is mind trembling small and hard to control very horrible phone 2/10

  • Huawei U8100 or Nokia 5230 ????

  • @usman789 Hi, Nokia 5230 do not have WiFi. although, you have unlimited data plan, it is still good that you have wifi and you can connect you only network to download and upload photos/video.

  • china made shit

  • @chris91199199

Tons of "shit" are made in China, the Iphone is made in China too SHIT

  • @alongthebluff I mean "design"

  • I want to buy this phone, but do not know the quality of this phone, can you tell me how it behaves? tell me the advantages and disadvantages of the striking telephone .. and quality, for example to withstand a fall ...

thank you very much, greetings from CHILE!

  • @buffonx68m1

This is for you and anyone else looking to get this device, it's really hard to recommend this phone right now. At the time that it was released, it was by far the best phone WIND was offering. The thing that holds this phone back is the resistive screen overall. If you text a lot (like I do) then you will find yourself going painfully slow to enter messages just because it can't keep up. The hardware is sold though, it would definitely withstand a fall, in my opinion.

  • a chinese crap mobile

  • Whats the song? its so catchy

  • I got this phone yesterday, before I had a Blackberry Curve. This phone is ok. The controls are a lot different than any phone that I had before. But the main thing I hate about this phone is the small ass keyboard on the screen. It is the smallest screen I have ever seen in my life. Trying to type "e" I would hit the "w" key like 4 times before I get it correct.

  • @NinjaWarriorDude

Very true, lol. The stock keyboard will drive you absolutely insane. I recommend that anyone with this device install a keyboard from the Android Market called ThickButtons. It tracks what you type and basically learns your frequent words offering suggestions and also enlarging your next possible letter and minimizing your least possible next letter. Makes things a bit more bearable.

  • @ferrariguy25 Even looking for contacts with the keyboard drives me nuts. I am actually giving the phone away tomorrow.. lol

  • @ferrariguy25 I have the same phone, too, and I also found the SlideIT keyboard fairly useful, too. It made it easier to type quickly, but it could be a bit of a pain trying to type certain words, but you can also add new words to the dictionary which makes it easier to use. Have yet to try ThickButtons.

  • @NinjaWarriorDude SAME HERE!

  • @NinjaWarriorDude I've got the same issue, the screen on my bb curve 8900 is crushed, and it costs a fortune to fix it, so I am considering to get this phone on my network. Is it worth of it???

  • @bogdandinic This phone is terrible. I gave it away and I am currently using my old and scratched up Blackberry 8320. For the record, the Huawei is the worst phone I have ever owned.. I have owned cell phones since 1995.

  • @NinjaWarriorDude Rofl. dude it's a good entry level Android phone. It's not meant to be some fancy, high-end Android, it's meant to be basic. Besides, why are you trying to compare a Huawei to a Blackberry anyways?

  • @CoD21FTW I wasn't really comparing the two, even though the Blackberry 8320 came out like 3 years ago, while the Huawei came out a few months ago. FYI this model of the Huawei is not the entry model.. there is one even cheaper than this one. And it is not "good".

  • @NinjaWarriorDude use android keyboard its much better

  • Does it have wifi and the key boards on screen right ?

  • @KiNgYadZie ya it does

  • Getting mixed feelings for this phones from reading all the reviews I could find. I don't know if I should get it or not.

  • Should I go for this phone or the Nokia 5230?

  • @CoD21FTW I would go 4 the Nokia, better quality and stuff, but the Huawei sure is tempting.

  • Im returning mine tomorrow

  • @ferrariguy25 Please make a video review about the phone cuz i dont know what to pick out off the other crappy phone at wind i was going to get the BB ( even tho i hate them) but a android device came out

  • can you record the device playing youtube video / vimeo over wifi or 3g ?

    Thank you

  • the touch screen isn't very responsive? I noticed you repeated a couple of inputs because it didn't register.

  • do an actual review on it

  • Sigh... Well I'm thinking of getting one. Do you recommend it? Pros and cons?

  • how does the on screen keyboard work?

  • I'm wondering if that is a flash or a speaker next to the camera? Thanks.

  • @TheSamsungslyde

    It's a speaker, a very loud speaker.

  • @ferrariguy25 so no flash right?

  • @TheSamsungslyde

    That's right, no flash.

  • @ferrariguy25 What about Adobe Flash :P, will Android 2.2 bring that out? I know this is a capable device as it sports same processor as HTC Hero with 190mb of RAM, so?

  • @themenanman

I wouldn't even bother trying to run flash on this device or even web browsing for that matter, the screen size is too small for it to be enjoyable.

  • @ferrariguy25

According to the specs at gsmarena the Huawei U8100 has an LED flash. This isn't true I guess. Couldn't find the phone on Huawei's site. How are you enjoying Wind's AWS network? Good reception? No dropped calls?

  • @takotheoktopus

WINDs AWS network has been great for me, I think I experienced 2 dropped calls since I've been using them in August. Reception has been good, usually sits at 3 bars.

  • @ferrariguy25

Thanks for the reply. The major carrier's latest ad campaigns all seem to be implying that Wind has a crappy network. Glad to hear from you that dropped calls aren't as big a deal as they say.

  • It looks like a great addition to Wind's lineup. Plus, it's great to hear that it runs Android 2.1.

  • build quality looks excellent
